Peak blooms are in the next 4-5 days. Follow them on Instagram for up to date info on blooms and hours. Super friendly staff. $25 gets your group in and you can get 10 sunflowers. They'll give you a bucket but you can bring your own shears (or they have some to borrow) and they'll wrap them for you too in cool napkins for the drive home. Suggest if you have a long drive you bring some water for them. The sunflowers are beautiful and plentiful and there weren't that many bugs. Also - this is a large field of sunflowers so you can really spread out. It felt like we had the entire place to ourselves. We roamed for half an hour before we saw other people. They have a small boutique selling themed items all featuring their bee or sunflowers. Adult shirts are $25. The bee pins are $10. A sunflower coloring book with colored pencils is $13 or $10 for just the book. Etc etc. Love love love!!!!

What would Thanksgiving be like without Flanagan Farms? How could one ever consider a grocery…read morestore turkey when they've experienced a farm to table fresh bird. I'll admit that I have some issues with my turkey having a leisurely stroll in early morning, then be carried in my vehicle on the same day to its ultimate demise in my oven on Thanksgiving Day. Thank you Virginia Indian Tribes for beginning the tradition & validating my actions. Turkey Day at Flanagan Farms is a special experience. It must begin extremely early, since the number of turkeys dressed & ready for one's choosing is constantly replenished as early as noon. The farm is filled with vehicles of the chosen purchasers & what must be those whose labor climaxes on this special day. The children of the farm owners & workers are not at school. It's a special & important day for them also. There were over a half dozen who worked extremely hard. The process begins with a telephone call to those on the list to assure that a fresh turkey is wanted this year. I also expect that the call is to assure that the long time purchasers are still living. The date & times of pickup are given. And the anticipation begins. There is nothing that tastes as delectable as a fresh turkey. That prize is not easy to obtain. My Uncle began ordering a Flanagan's turkey decades ago. His legacy has now been passed on to me, always with his instructions & reminders. Ours now rests in his secondary refrigerator tonight. Soon it will make its way to its final destination in my oven. There is a waiting list for those who haven't been on the turkey list for years. The open sided shed with tables holding the prized birds is surrounded by a Who's Who of Old Pungo & Princess Anne. No one seems anxious to choose their turkey & bring an end to the experience. It's a time to visit and savor the experience. Tempting one beyond belief are the tables filled with fresh produce, designed to add to the dining experience. I can never pass up the beautiful sweet potatoes, bagged or boxed, and the fresh collard greens. Today, added to the mix were amazingly huge turnips, along with the accompanying greens. As one walked into the turkey shed, it was impossible to pass the homemade jelly & jam display without stopping. I chose the strawberry-rhubarb, which I greatly anticipate. The individuals working turkey day were very diligent. Once I pointed out my choice, it was immediately moved to the checkout table, a young pre-teen bagged my choice, including the collards that were a "must have", and carried the treasures to my car. I had also selected a bag of sweet potatoes & 2 jars of jam. You can't go wrong with Flanagan Farms. They will highlight my Thanksgiving with the turkey & sweet potatoes for many years to come. I'm anxiously awaiting cooking the collards. And the strawberry-rhubarb jam is calling me. Yum..... I can't wait. By the way, leaving with my treasures, I absolutely had to do one more thing. A field with lots of turkeys who lucked out today was visible. "Hi guys!" I shouted. "See you next year!!"

Before we let him out of the car, my husband walked up to the stand and asked if our dog could be outside and they were very happy to have him outside of the lanes of the strawberry patch (understandable, he's a dog after all). The strawberries were abundant, big, and juicy! We easily filled up our bucket in minutes. We will 100% be back here next year instead of some of the biggest farms in the area.

They update their facebook page daily due to weather and strawberry conditions so it's easy to keep an eye out before you make the drive. It's buried deep in Pungo off a charming road and a beautiful leisurely drive through the countryside. We easily found it, pulled in, and weighed our baskets and were sent off to one of the fields to pick. They had 2-3 open at the time with several rows to choose from and plenty of parking. It was muddy, which I knew from their warning to wear the proper shoes and clothes, but we managed to find a few rows and found tons of available strawberries. I was worried about there not being enough for everyone but that was not a problem - we quickly picked about 7 pounds of beautifully ripe red berries and headed back to the main station to weigh them. We stood in a socially distanced line where I browsed their veggie plants (for making your own home garden) and their beautiful potted flowers. They have some friendly wildlife here as well you can interact with as the goats were happy to come to the fence and be seen. Great experience - I now have two jars of fresh strawberry jam and tons of frozen strawberries for smoothies! This may be a new tradition.

They have been named a Century Farm in Virginia, and now also a Bicentennial Farm and are proud to still be actively farming. Sustainable farming is a way of ensuring that the land, and all its resources are maintained for future generations. Promoting soil health, managing water runoff and using natural fertilizing techniques are all ways that they are being good stewards of the land. This has always been a way of life, but the business of Coastal Cattle began as an idea of their then12 year old daughter in 2014, and has expanded since then. She wanted to use her knowledge of cattle gained through local 4H livestock club and start a herd. Her very first project steer at the age of 10 was a Hereford and she instantly fell in love with the breed. They are docile, easy to work with, great for children to be around and of course beautiful! She and her sister helped to pick out the first bred heifers and cows that started Coastal Cattle. The original idea was to start raising pure-bred show cattle to be used for our local area 4H Livestock shows as well as other regional livestock competitions. Showing cattle is a lot of work, and a lot of fun, but eventually they started thinking bigger. They were hearing the desires of so many people who want to know where their food is coming from. People want to be in control of what they put into their bodies, and they quickly saw and understood the need for a good product. So expanding into the direct marketing of the beef produced by the ever expanding herd was the natural progression of the farm. Incorporating rotational grazing, and the herd into other farming practices has proven beneficial for the land and the farm. They go hand in hand, crops and livestock. Not only are they producing a good product for the consumers, but they're protecting our natural resources as well.

That's incredible for pungo and the festival vendors. Parking is $10 which is pretty pricey. I spend less parking at events at the oceanfront and waterside. It's nothing but locals so I wish they would decrease by $5 considering everything at the festival is pricey and people spend a lot on the food. A little cut in parking would make up for that. Sadly there wasn't as much strawberry items as previous years. I appreciated Lolly's and Sawdust having strawberry inspired drinks. I found a strawberry shortcake dessert and strawberry lemonade and that was about it. Really sad about that as pungo houses a lot of yummy strawberries. Nonetheless this is a local spot that I've come to for years and won't stop now. I just hope it continues to listen to the locals and adjust here and there.

To Whom It May Concern,…read more I am writing to formally bring to your attention an incident that occurred during my visit to your market on June 28, 2026. My husband and I enjoy supporting small, local markets and farms; especially those that remind us of home and our military roots, so it is extremely disappointing to share that our experience today left us feeling unwelcome and disrespected. While selecting ears of corn, I picked up several that were already opened and set aside. I examined them only to understand why they had been separated. From across the aisle, an employee called out, "Ma'am, you can't open our corn here." I responded politely that I understood. She then approached me and asked, "Did you open all of these?" Her tone was accusatory, and the question itself was inappropriate. I clarified that the ears were already open when I picked them up. Instead of accepting my explanation, she continued lecturing me--repeating the same point multiple times despite my acknowledgment. She also stated that your corn is "fresh, just picked," which was factually incorrect given that the ears I was holding were ice cold. "Fresh, just picked" corn would be warm to the touch, as though it went directly from farm to stand. I mentioned that the opened ears had earworm. She replied that "there is nothing wrong with corn that has a worm; you just cut it off," and continued repeating the same reprimand I had already acknowledged multiple times. Despite my calm responses, the employee continued pressing the issue to the point that my husband stepped in, saying, "Okay, that is enough." The employee then told us, "Maybe you should go to Walmart to buy your corn." This comment was inappropriate, unprofessional, and entirely unnecessary. At that point, we decided to purchase the four ears already in our bag, inform the cashier of our experience, and leave; spending only $5.00 versus our normal $60-$80 we spend each time we visit. Unfortunately, this interaction has led us to decide not to return to your market, which is genuinely disappointing. We value local businesses and the sense of community they provide, but the treatment we received did not reflect the welcoming environment we expected--or the positive experiences we have had over the past six years as regular customers. We drive from Yorktown specifically to buy your fruits and vegetables, but we will not drive to Sandbridge to be chastised and publicly ridiculed for something I did not do, and even if I had, I acknowledged your policy immediately upon being told. I am sharing this feedback in hopes that it will be used constructively. Customer service matters, and interactions like this can significantly impact how patrons perceive and support a business. I trust you will address this issue to ensure future customers are treated with respect and professionalism.
