I LOVE u-pick farms, so I stopped by Mount Pleasant Farms last week because the peaches and blackberries are ready for picking! My sister-in-law has been living here for quite some time and always misses out on the peaches because they are usually sold out by the time she arrives, but I think the trick is to go right when they open! I heard a lot of locals come early and pick them out fast! - Blackberries - The blackberry bushes are located in the back. There were quite a lot of berries to pick. These were actually really sweet and not tart at all. Be careful if you have little kids though, blackberry bushes are thorny! Scratched myself a few times. They sell the blackberry baskets for 75 cents or you can bring your own. I forgot how much it is per lb, but it's definitely more expensive than the grocery store, but I don't mind. You can't beat freshly picked fruit! Peaches I opted for the 1/4 peak bag as it is approximately 3lbs and since I already picked some blackberries, I kept it to a reasonable amount. They have the clingstone variety and oh my GERD, the aroma of these peaches are intoxicating! How else can I describe it but really peachy?! They were great when they were firm, had a nice crunch and still sweet. The best is when you leave them on the counter for another day or so and they ripen a little more. They are so delicious! The bags for the peaches are provided (I've attached a pic with the prices of each bag size). Note: they only allow certain lanes of trees to be picked for the day, so once they are picked out of that lane, they'll shut it down. Orchard Store Like any market store, their store carries homemade goods like jams, butters, salsas etc. They also carry produce from farms nearby or nearby states. I also caught a glimpse of the Oberweis truck making a delivery so they carry some of their milk too. I bought some local corn (it's the white variety, sweet, but very starchy) and their homemade medium salsa verde (haven't had a chance to try this yet, but when I do, I'll report back). There is a large play area for the kids, equipped with wooden trains, sand area, tractor tires, giant Connect 4 and a little pen with a few goats in it, with a dispenser for their treats that you can purchase for a quarter. Also, it's conveniently located next to Bergey's (wonder if there is a relation), so it's nice to have somewhere to grab a bite to eat and get a treat after a morning of picking in the morning sun! Stay safe, Friends!

Just GO! For a few hours life seemed... NORMAL... well PRE COVID-19. We did wear a mask when we went in the store and paid for our buckets and bags since we wanted to pick peaches and strawberries. They had tires that kids were climbing on, a wooden train, a wooden tractor, goats, chickens, a sheep, and a horse. They had beautiful potted plants for sale out front as well. The cashier was super nice and let us know which way to head to start picking. He also gave us a few pointers to know the peaches will soften in a few days if you pick the harder ones. They had a bathroom inside available as well. No mask needed to pick, it was SO fun. I've never picked peaches so that was a lot of fun. The orchard was so big so everyone was practicing social distancing. The weather was amazing, no complaints. I highly reccomend giving here a try, I know their Facebook page was updated with what stock they had as well. They had pears and apples growing as well.

What a cute farm. This is my favorite to pick peaches. Easy to get to, Lots of easy parking and first thing you do is go into the beautiful store front. It looks like a big red barn. Nice and clean inside and fully stocked with all kinds of jars of goodies. My favorite to pick up pickled beans, pickled asparagus and jellies. They have fresh eggs and a wonderful selection of honey. They sells lots of odds and ends like a country store should. They also have a fantastic play yard. My husband even enjoyed it. They have huge tractor tires you can climb on. A train to play on and all kinds of neat country play ground stuff. They also have sweet farm animals you get to visit. They even have horse rides. My niece and nephew love visiting the farms animals. SO MANY PEACHES!!! It was a really hot day this time so I was so thankful lots of easy peaches to pick. No time at all we had our bags filled, trying not to drop a single peach as we headed back to our cars. It was yet another GREAT successful trip

Its been a while since I've updated my review. I LOVE this farm. This year we decided to try out their ten dollar trick or treating corn maze! I am so glad we did! It was perfect, safe, social distanced, educational and FUN! I would recommend this form or trick or treating next year to any parents who are looking for something fun and safe to do to celebrate Halloween fun! The maze took about thirty minutes, it was a good sized maze! At every corner there are signs with educational questions regarding farming. There were plenty of volunteers wearing masks handing out plenty of candy throughout the maze, this was my toddlers first experience trick or treating and Mount Pleasant Farms made it a magical experience for her! We enjoyed seeing the volunteers all dressed up! Also on the farm are plenty of animals: we enjoyed petting the friendly horses, donkey, and goats who seem to really love people. They have goat food for purchase so don't forget your quarters. They also had a smaller free toddler maze set up along with other apparatuses for children to play on. We love the inside of the farm store, we love the fresh produce they have, squash, apples and all sorts of other produce and sweets. We tried the cookies, yum! The bathroom is always clean here and staff is always so pleasant, we will return soon to purchase some honey!

Don't know what's up with the two names it's also call Bergy's. A nice afternoon activity. You could easily spend up to 3 hours there. I took my grandson and we had the best time holding the piglets, goats and rabbits. We fed the sheep, goats and took a hayride with no hay around the property. It was great introducing my grandson to peace, tranquility and my life after retirement. There's a cost to get in, a separate price for the hayride and a cost for food for the animals, hey, parking is FREE... so be prepared. A nice place for a birthday party, school field trips, etc. There's a cafe/store on the premises so check out my review about what we ate

    The corn pit (October 2019)

I stopped by mid October with my 3.5 year old nanny kid on our way to Bergey's Breadbasket for lunch. This was an amazing little find! They have a great play area for kids (I think particularly geared towards younger kids), which was completely free on the weekday we stopped by. No signs indicated there being a charge for the play area but I am not sure about the hay rides... it did seem like they have a pumpkin patch you can get to via hay ride. The play area had some wooden structures of a train and a tractor to play on, a large tire tunnel to run around in, a big sandbox, and a corn pit! This kept my 3 year old entertained for easily a half hour alone. There is also a small "farm" area with a variety of animals, both big and small. The area is very clean and well kept. They had some beautiful flowers for sale on the porch, and inside you find a market with a variety of things: fresh eggs, baked goods, treats, jellies, etc. I'm not sure how busy they get on the weekends but this would for sure be my pumpkin patch pick for a relaxed fall fun experience, especially combined with lunch and more animals next door at Bergey's!

I've been here once for a pumpkin patch and once for u-pick strawberries. They have goats to pet and a machine to get feed for them. In the fall they have a fun corn maze with a quiz game to help you find your way and a wagon ride. I love the spring strawberry picking too. Check in inside the building and get your basket! Fresh, straight from the plant berries! You can't get much better than that. When you go inside the building they have lots of different goods for sale like meat, duck eggs, pie, milk, ice cream, butter, and candy! There are so many options!

Super cute place. It's Mother's Day and they were so sweet. Because of Covid-19 there were precautions to entering the store. Every thing was clean and organized. Had fun with my friends and family picking strawberries. They were small but still tasty. I got a whole quart. I picked up some mini buckeyes - DELICIOUS!!! Got some ginger snaps! DELICIOUS! Super cute place. Usually they let you bring your own containers but due to cocos-19 they provided the basket. The children's play area was cute but closed due to lockdown restrictions. They hope to open things more this summer.

This market is so well kept, clean and well organized. I also noticed that their farm and their peach orchard was well kept even though it's not peach season. We opted for the hayride which gave us more of a background on the farm. We learned about the people who own the land, when they harvest what fruits and such. The tour guide was very informative and made it fun for the kids that were riding with us. Once we were done we stopped back by the local fresh market and picked up some of their peach cider. I would personally recommend their blackberry or blueberry cider over their peach. I look forward to stopping back by to buy some green eggs!

Hi! Are dogs allowed at the farm? Thanks in advance!

Hello, yes we do allow dogs as long as they are on a leash and are friendly. Dogs just are not allowed in our pumpkin patch or strawberry patch.

The family, the farm, this whole place is a treasure and I can't wait to return!…read more I am always on the hunt for new and exciting things to do with my daughter and this place was brought to my attention by a coworker. They offer several special events throughout the year, adventure camps for kids of all ages, field trip opportunities and private parties. We attended a GLOWvember evening several weeks ago which was so much fun for our preschooler. We had never been to the farm, but Google maps and signs off the road led us to the right spot. There is ample parking on this private property and it was a short walk to the rear of the home where all activities take place. We were greeted right away by Shannon, and introduced to many of the animals on the property including a rotund pig, many goats and chickens. Shannon was a saint in guiding the children and offered them opportunities to interact with and care for the animals. Our daughter was smitten and followed Shannon like a shadow. She had activities ready for the kids to interact with the environment including a ladybug hunt and nature scavenger hunt. There is play equipment that was almost as inviting for me as it was for the kids. The night also included a bonfire with s'mores, outdoor independent play stations, family-friendly music & plenty of glowsticks. What I appreciate the most is that Shannon, a former sped teacher & special needs mom, has created a place where both neurotypical and neurodiverse children can work and play together in an engaging environment. What a blessing she is to this community!

They also have a bathroom to use - it's the cleanest portable potty I've seen to date. Shannon - the owner, is so kind and congenial! She helped me with my son's when I had to take one to the bathroom. She treated my boys as if they were her very own. I highly recommend this place. You will not be disappointed! This is definitely the place for special needs kids. This was the first time, since we lived in Japan, that I was able to let my kids run and have fun, and I didn't have to worry.

They loved the animal enclosure especially the chickens and were very excited about the goats. The playground was also wonderful and perfect for my 2 year old to run around and explore. My 2 year old is on the autism spectrum, so I really want to recognize that the environment at the farm felt very sensory-friendly. The gated areas were especially helpful because my son tends to elope, and it allowed me to feel much more comfortable letting him explore. For families with toddlers or children with additional needs, that kind of setup makes a big difference and is truly appreciated. However, I'm very disappointed with our experience during the pony ride. I paid $10 for my 2 year old to ride a pony, and I was genuinely excited because it was his first time ever being on a horse. I've heard so many positive things about how horse riding can help regulate children on the spectrum, so this was a moment I was really looking forward to as a parent. Unfortunately, the staff member who took us around for the pony ride was extremely rude and clearly seemed like she did not want to be there. Her attitude made the interaction very uncomfortable, and it honestly felt like we were an inconvenience. I pushed through the moment so my son could still enjoy his ride, but it completely took away from what should have been a really special first experience. When we looked back at the photos we took of the moment, in some of them she is actually rolling her eyes, which was very disappointing to see. No parent wants their child's first experience with something special to feel like they are bothering the staff. I'm sharing this feedback because the farm itself is a wonderful place for young kids, and I hope management is aware of how interactions like this affect families' experiences. The animals, playground, and environment were great, but customer interactions especially during experiences like pony rides should feel welcoming and positive for families and children.
