Good place to work out. The gym is clean, the equipment is in good condition, and the staff is friendly. It has a nice atmosphere and is a comfortable place to exercise regularly. read more

The place is so dirty. There are huge spider webs in every window and layers of dust in every the unused parts of the machines. Even on the top of weights. The only reason why I'm giving them 3 stars is because they did a renovation and replaced most of the machines. I like that they have 3 rowers. HITT classes are every morning in the open area so don't plan on doing abs at 8/830. The instructors kick you out of that area. read more

We have been members ever since they came to Paramus. The new manager has really changed the gym around. The front desk staff especially Emma are very professional, personable and helpful. The equipment is well maintained. We would highly recommend Crunch Paramus. read more

Beware if you cancel they charge you an annual fee plus an additional month no matter when you cancel. There machines are always broken. They don't offer guest passes with their memberships. No one ever cleans at all & their bathrooms are dirty. I gave the gym a try because it was close by my house but there were too many dislikes. Don't come here if you value your money & peace of mind. read more

I was told it was a month to month contract and could cancel anytime but when I wanted to cancel after not even 2 months due to condition the gym. I was charged for the entire year so make sure you read that agreement cause counter personal says one thing but contract says something else. The worst gym ever. Anybody wants to do PT, don't ever sign up with them. they will charge you one after another sessions without your authorization & nobody will help to fix their mistakes & I had the worst experiences with them charging me 3 times of $540. The last charge I had to go through my credit card company to block them & dispute the last charge & barely got the money back to my account. I have bad trauma that I don't even want to go this gym anymore & just canceled my membership today. read more

I should've listened to the reviews. I joined for a month or so, wasn't happy with the quality of gym but in order to cancel I have to pay the annual dues and another months membership so it cost me over $100 to cancel and I'm sick with the membership for another month and a half. The bathrooms are gross, equipment leaves much to be desired, they haven't been updated since it was World Gym (I was a member there way back when and a lot of the equipment is the same) read more

Just noticed the charges on my credit card from Crunch Fitness for over a year even though I've never been there and never heard from them. Apparently they "transferred" my NYSC membership (that I've tried to cancel since COVID started, but they just didn't answer) without my knowledge. Super shady! read more

So as a member of this gym, the owners group is the problem! You decide to renovate a play area but forget about the problems you have in the actual gym! 30% of the treadmills are broken or inoperable 66% of the steppers are broken The list can go on and on but these two items have been broken for years and never get fixed! Updated review: business owner said to me: "don't believe that it's appropriate to speak poorly of her." Is he threatening me? Don't believe that it's appropriate to speak poorly of me too. He didn't even apologized for their employees 's bad attitude and actions but instead told me that I can't speak poorly of her? Excuses me? I am the one who is receiving the inappropriate and disrespectful service. And Niko Kearns is the one who saying so poorly to me with a nasty tone. To conclude this: is that means ITS APPROPRIATE FOR THEIR EMPLOYEES TO SPEAK/TREAT SO POORLY TO CUSTOMERS? BTW, please do know that it's inappropriate to make JUDGEMENT on customer 's appearance(such as weight/height) either! I am disappointed and heartbroken about this gym. Overall experience: As a dietician myself, I don't feel safe and comfortable to continue to join this gym since it's affecting my wellbeing. And as a dietician myself, I will not recommend this gym to my clients! Retro is much better choice and better fitness equipments! The employees at the front desk are much nicer and friendlier than this gym. They are more professional. They don't have those "attitudes" as this gym do. Everyone who wants to have a better work out experience, I strongly recommend Retro Fitness! read more

Crunch Fitness - Paramus - Retro is much better and they have more equipments! - Gyms Near Me - Paramus, New Jersey

would give this place 0 stars but I enjoy their classes. the equipment is extremely run down.

For 17$ a month you get what you pay for but overall the gym has everything you need! The 3 star review is because it can ABSOLUTELY use renovations (aesthetically and structurally). There a dips in the floor that could really be harmful if your carrying weights, and step the wrong way. There's a few holes in the walls (not noticeable until you see them and then you can't unsee them) and the women's bathroom ( I'm assuming the men's as well) is in need of a complete gut job. It's very dated. It doesn't have to be luxurious by any means, but it would be nice to walk into a more updated bathroom and feel comfortable enough to shower after a workout. read more

They make it very difficult to cancel a membership. You have to come in person and talk to manager. Or you have to call an 800 number that does not answer the phone. 800 number still hasn't called back. You can cancel your membership over the phone if you call the number that does not answer or call back. If you call the actual club, you cannot cancel over the phone but have to burn fossil fuels to drive to gym, talk to manager , sign paperwork of some sort. I had resigned club memberships many times due to moved. This is not the norm. read more

This is by far the worst gym I have been to and the worst location of crunch. They should be embarassed. It is so run down. Never at one time are all the overhead ceiling fans working. They have the brightest most aggressive fluorescent lights beating down on you. The machines are ALWAYS BROKEN. I have noticed majority of the stairmasters have been broken for months which is unbelievable since the working ones are always full - you would think they would fix the broken ones but they clearly don't care. The other machines for weights and specified workouts are also always broken. The TVs are also always barely working. I included photos showing most ot the tvs are broken or showiny crunch ads and not even playing a tv show. This location is also so dirty. It always smells and I never see anyone cleaning. Lastly they legit "re-did" the turf area multiple times and each time make it worse and less practical. I HIGHLY recommend taking your money and workouts elsewhere. It is a bummer though- I used to be a long time member at this location but it went so downhill I had to switch gyms. read more

DO NOT join this crunch location..The instructors are horrible. And classes are constantly being cancelled because there are no subs.

I hate this gym more and more each time I come. I pay for their most expensive membership so I can have tanning included in my membership and they will not allow me to use the tanning just because it's not my home gym.... what am I paying 55$ a month for if I can't use all the services I pay for when and where I want to. so dumb read more

Pretty much all the stars here are dedicated to Steph Dickson -- he runs the Bootcamp classes at this location (4x week). He has a personal studio in Hackensack as well. My top two selling points for this Crunch location are his classes and the 5 min drive from home. I've been going for the past 4 years. I saw some of the other bad reviews pertaining to equipment, staff, and day care. Can't speak about the day care services -- you are paying roughly $10(base) or $20(peak) to use this gym....so think about that and the service you're expecting. Equipment is pretty good and most of the TV's work! Furthermore, since their latest renovation/expansion there is a lot more space! Entire spin class room, separate zumba/yoga room/boxing, and a pilates reformer room! In terms of staff I don't take the effort to interact so much (other than Steph) soo not sure about their professionalism -- but on the same note whenever I scan-in I am always greeted a w/ a chirpy and friendly hello at the front desk which is nice! Parking is struggle for sure and I feel like that's a standard issue here in north jersey - there's nothing to do to fix that, theres a lot of people in this area!! However, I do appreciate they have two entrances so there's no longer truly a "bad spot." AND lets not forget we're at the gym to exercise....so a spot further away isn't the worst thing. Try to go when peak morning and evening rush is gone if this stuff really bothers you. To end my review, I'd like to say if you're looking to get into shape and want to stay motivated Steph is a great coach! Even tho these are group classes he takes the time to reach out and check-in to see if you're thinking healthy!! Unlike classes I've taken before, I've bought many sessions for Bootcamp fairly regularly for last 4 years. Be sure to ask about Steph when you go to Crunch!! read more

Dirty gym and half the equipment is broken or doesn't work. Very low quality everything from benches, to dumbbells. Staff doesn't enforce any kind of rules so weights are often left unracked or tossed all over the gym. Wouldn't recommend. Only good due to the fact that it's dirt cheap. read more

I would give it zero stars if I could. What a joke. Don't fall for their false advertisement of 1 free month to try it out. They just want to get an Annual fee out of you and don't care about anything else else (ie, why are you a dissatisfied customer or how can they keep you). Obviously it's a bad and failing business practice. BLINK is my go to or 24 Hour Fitness. Much better options in my view! read more

DISGUSTED. FURIOUS. How is it that you guys decide to close the Fair Lawn branch, and assume that we would go to the Paramus branch? Here is a list of Crunch Fitness Greed centered ways: 1. To close my gym account, I need to be there in person. 2. There is a 20 day account closing delay 3. If your billing cycle falls under those 20 days, you are expected to pay for that. 4. Charge me for closing the account. 5. No mail, or email regarding gym merger Absolutely disgusted with this gym. read more

Don't do it!! Stay away!!!! Extortionists. "Inviting" when they sign you up. "Alienating" when you need to cancel. When you sign up for membership they are as sweet as "apple pie". When you tell them your need to cancel your membership b/c you have started a job that is 2 hours away and you work long hours and can't possibly make it to their facility to cancel, they tell you their policy is that you have to go in person to cancel your membership. When you go there in person they say you can't cancel your membership b/c you have an outstanding balance (the months prior--for the period commencing when you told them you want to cancel your membership) and there is nothing they can't help you. read more

You are paying $10/month for the use of this gym. Your expectations do need to match this accordingly. All the TVs work (As far as I know, the TVs only appear on the elliptical and the big TVs for the cardio in the back). Many many pieces of equipment were recently replaced. Previously, much of the old equipment was worn and sucky. They actually had to take pretty much a whole business day to move it in. Staff is very friendly and helpful. I have no problems approaching and staff with questions. Parking is a bit of a problem. There is this sweet spot between 5-6pm where it can be very hard to find parking. To alleviate it, they allow you to park at a neighboring business after 6pm. On that note, it can be crowded. Drinks are somewhat more pricey compared to similar places. The demo classes are fun (Read: you will hurt the next day). I'd consider taking one. The alternatives locally are Retro down the highway and Gold's. If I was paying more, I'd probably knock it down star, but like I said, my expectations need to match what I'm paying. read more

Absolute worst gym experience I could've ever imagined. I'm 2 months into trying to cancel and they're still charging me, the manager is never present to help you cancel training and it's impossible to do so without him there. You CANNOT freeze or pause your training, and they don't give you a chance to make up for it. if you ever need to pause it for even a week, be VERY clear with your trainer that you need to stop the charges IMMEDIATELY and go with them and make sure you don't leave until you see it is complete. They act very incapable and apologetically useless when they don't feel like helping you, and corporate will always send you back to gym in a wild goose chase and you'll end up having to pay for all the time they make you wait, so it's better off to make a scene and cancel in one go instead of being patient and going along with their process. This gym in particular uses and tricks people, do not trust their trainers or employees. This whole situation has me no longer wanting to attend a gym ever again and I'm still currently waiting for over $500 to be refunded over months of unwanted and disputed charges. Crunch is then worst gym out there. read more

Crunch Paramus is where I became confident again. The photo of me on the left is from about a year ago and the photo of me is from today. With the help from the trainers at Crunch, especially Wayne my personal trainer, I was able to learn how to get back in control over my body. Wayne taught me proper form, exercises to reach my goals, and how to track my macros for recomposition. The staff here is awesome and will always do what ever is in their power to keep gym members happy. One of the things I love most here is that the trainers are always providing form suggestion even if they are not training you at that moment. Crunch Paramus is a gym that cares. Keep it up and thanks for the motivation you guys!!! read more

I love going to Crunch. They give you a warm welcome and always checking in with you. They want you to feel great but do it in a safe manner. Kevin and Eric always go and above and beyond. They make you feel like family! I'm new to the fitness world, however, what I do love is the fact that Crunch has a circuit training option. You can work out your entire body with a specific machine for 30 mins or more. Wonderful! Plus it gives you guidance when you are not working with a trainer. I also love the treadmill and bikes! Overall I will always call this my workout home. The staff makes you feel so welcome and supported. Cheers to Crunch!! read more

Don't commit to their membership and allow them to tell you they are going to be flexible with the membership OR personal training for you. The former head personal trainer Steven tried to sweeten up his offer by giving monthly training sessions that could be refunded to the member if they were not used throughout the month. He shortly after left and when trying to get sessions refunded, the employees say the contract is "black and white" and that it is what they go off when dealing with customer issues. MAYBE THEN, the issue is that your staff needs to be retrained and the GM needs to take a good look at how he's dealing with his member relationships. This should have been escalated whether the employee still worked there or not, but apparently the member would have to die to resolve anything with this gym. read more

Not only the poor service that I have received, but also the billing issues. The monthly bill payment keeps rising and all other "nonsense fees" are rising. I ended up canceling my membership but this gym continually charging the membership fees from my credit card account! As refer to the poor customer service: The manager Terri and employee Niko or Niki are not professional and not responsible for their actions. I finally understand what "racism"means at the very first moment after I entered this gym! NOTED: Approximately 8 out of 10 of the equipments are old and broken! Even though the base one is $10 dollars a month, after a year, it will automatically rising to $15 dollars without any explanations!
