After pulling my car into the bay, Rob noticed a couple noises and offered to check them out at no extra charge. That extra attention uncovered several issues I never would have known to ask about. Since he knew I was preparing for a long road trip, he took the time to clearly explain what actually needed immediate attention for safety and what could realistically wait until I got home and have my brother, who is a mechanic, take a look. At no point did I feel pressured, upsold, or scared into unnecessary repairs. In fact, their honesty literally saved me over $1,000 in repairs I could safely wait on instead of feeling pressured to do everything immediately. And somehow they still went even further. They topped off my windshield washer fluid, helped fix my car radio by tracking down the security code through Honda, and took care of so many little details that most shops would never bother with. In fact, I…read morewaited nearly 14 months before commiting my concerns to Yelp simply so I could rationally explain what a great mistake I'd made entrusting my car's service to them I'd purchased a used 2008 Saturn Vue in July 2017 (with an "As Is" warranty and 105,000 miles on it) from a local small car lot that has since gone out of business. From day one, the problems began. Before taking the car, but after complaining the front brakes felt mushy, the salesman (allegedly) had their mechanic perform a front only brake job. Within 500 feet off the lot, the check engine light came on. The gas gauge was off by half a tank. The front windows were stuck in the up position. (I was able to fix that problem myself.) The driver side headlamp burned out. The ABS sensor came on. And the passenger front end began making some very disconcerting noises. I didn't have a regular mechanic and had financed this vehicle for 36+months so I asked a co-worker who he'd recommend. He directed me to Noebull Automotive. Nearly $3,100 later I paid the charges in full and left the shop. Within 3 days of leaving the shop virtually every single repair came undone. The check engine light came back on. The ABS sensor reappeared. The fuel gauge tank unit (which was replaced) reverted back to the original problem, leaving me to "guess" how much gas I had within a day's time of "filling up". I was told the noise up front necessitated the installation of new front stabilizers and a sway bar assembly. Overall the steering improved (which may have been helped by an alignment also performed) but the ominous noises from the right front continued to occur. I brought all of my concerns to the manager's attention and he assured me things would be worked out. I brought the car back a day or so later (mostly because of the noises) and he determined that the catalytic converter was failing. In order to "save me" the cost of replacing it he offered to perform a Hail Mary technique of burning out the debris. $118 later nothing was resolved. As ALL of my savings had now been exhaused paying for work/fixes that consistently failed I resolved to sell the vehicle as quickly as possible and lick the financial wounds ALL-bull had visited on me. In short, they may have qualified and capable mechanics working for them but I think only rank amateurs worked on MY car. They saw me coming and cleaned my clock - a cautionary lesson to anyone else seeking automotive service from Noebull Automotive.

I searched the internet looking for reviews and saw that these guys were highly recommended. I called Best Motor Werks, spoke to Rufus and explained what I was looking for. Told him that I had fallen behind on a lot of regular maintenance items plus the fact that the E46 M3 has the "Big Three" issues (Vanos, Rod Bearings and Subframe Cracks), and wanted the car checked out. Rufus is a real "car guy". He knows his business very well plus he's a real enthusiast. That makes a difference when you own a car like an M. He "gets" the fact that we LOVE our cars. I dropped the car off and told him that he could keep it for a while as it is not my daily driver. I asked for a complete multipoint inspection and a coolant change as it had never been done in the 11 years I owned it. The technician gave the car a thorough inspection and came up with a list of things that should be addressed as well as assigned a number from 1-10 in terms of how soon these items should be addressed. Rufus went over everything on the list one by one and answered any questions I had. There was no pressure to fix everything at once like you might get from a dealer. Since I only put less that 5000 miles a year on the car, there were things that could possibly be addressed next year. The owner John is great, honest and professional. As I mentioned earlier, Rufus is a true "car guy" and understands the love we have for our cars. I will definitely be using Best Motor Werks for all my BMW repairs and maintenance. I recently had the water pump replaced on my vehicle at Luke's Auto Shop. Unfortunately, shortly…read moreafter the repair, I discovered that a coolant hose clamp associated with the water pump had been left improperly installed. This caused coolant to leak into the engine bay and could have led to much more serious engine damage if it hadn't been caught quickly. A mistake like this is concerning because the cooling system is a critical component, and something as basic as verifying that all hose clamps are properly secured should be part of every final inspection before a vehicle is returned to the customer. That said, I also believe it's important to recognize when a business makes a genuine effort to address a problem. Once the issue was brought to the shop's attention, the service manager handled the situation professionally. While the original workmanship issue should not have occurred, he did what he could to make the situation right by listening to my concerns, arranging for the vehicle to be checked over, and working to restore my confidence in the repair. No repair shop is immune to mistakes, but how those mistakes are handled matters. In this case, the initial repair fell short of the standard I expected, but the service manager's professionalism and willingness to stand behind the work improved what could have been a much worse experience. Overall, I hope the shop strengthens its quality-control procedures to ensure critical items like coolant hose connections are verified before vehicles leave the shop. If they do, I believe they can provide a much more consistently positive customer experience.

First of all, when you set up an appointment, you can request a loaner car, so that you don't need to wait there for the car, and I didn't have to miss work. I also saw a different rep ordering someone an Uber for a different customer because who didn't have appointment so there wasn't a loaner available. Secondly, I originally went in for a transmission flush. While I was at work, I got a text and email of the inspection they had done. The inspection was really easy to read, and gave me different levels of recommendations for other things that needed to be done. Some things were urgent, and some things were needed soon, but not urgent, and there were some things that were for maintenance only. On my lunch break, I called my service rep, and he was able to talk me through all of the things on the report, and explain things to me, because I am pretty illiterate when it comes to cars. I ended up also getting my drive belt replaced as well. But my rep made sure to let me know what the price would before I decided to go through with it. At the end of my work day, I drove my loaner car back to Luke's and picked my car up, and was on my way. Overall, the inspection report, and the loaner car I think is what really separates Luke's from the rest. When I've taken my car to get an oil change or the tires replaced at other places, i've always had to wait in the lobby and its a waste of time. I lost no time with Luke's and knew exactly what was happening to my car. Take your car to Luke's if you want incredible service.

Why do I come to Motorkars?…read more I am the proud owner of a 1972 VW 1302 Super Beetle Cabriolet - had it since college. It was previously owned by a lawyer from my home town, who purchased it in California when he was in law school... that's part of the back story here. It's specialty work, and good, reliable, trustworthy air-cooled mechanics are hard to find. So the saying goes, "when you get into a Volkswagen, it gets into you." And it's really true. There's something about the sound of the engine of a classic air-cooled VW. In Australia they are know as "Dak-Daks" for that characteristic engine sound. The "meep-meep" of the distinctive horn, and so much more that's unique about these little gems. Mike at Motorkars has been one of the go to guys for classic air-cooled VW service and restoration in Central Ohio for many years. He is one of the guys that was around when the Central Ohio Vintage Volkswagen Club came into being decades ago. I've come to Mike on several occasions and have never been anything but thrilled with the service received for my air-cooled classic. But, the passage of time dictates that the torch must be passed - so I stopped in to see how the potential for a transition is going. As of September 2021 it's not complete, but it's sounding hopeful - which is good because I'm pursuing a long due full restoration on the engine, body, interior & rag-top of my 1972 and the prep work is already underway now. The resolution of this transition will be important to many many Central Ohio air-cooled owners. Now - that's not all that Motorkars does, of course. They are also servicers of many other import automobile makes and models. And every indication I have is that they do absolutely superb work on those vehicles as well. The shop bays are clean and well organized, my observation is that the office area is in good order too. If the work done on the other import makes and models is half as good as the quality I've experienced, you just can't go wrong here, in my opinion.

I would not take my VW, Audi, or Porsche (if I owned one) anywhere else even if it was free. My parents took their cars here and I took mine here too for all maintenance regular and break fix. They have always been honest and very helpful at finding options when on a budget. I no longer own a VW or Audi, but when I get another one this is where it will always be serviced. There is not another place around as knowledgeable about these vehicles as Motorkars.
