Katz Tires was recommended by a friend and they totally lived up to their outstanding reputation. I had been driving on two leaky tires for months and thought for sure I would have to buy new ones. The Katz tires found the nails in my tires in under a minute. The front tire was plugged before I even knew what was happening. The nail in the back tire was almost in the sidewall, so they took the time to explain that if I was going to go on a long (longer than 10 hours) trip, I might want to replace it, but if I am just driving local, a $25 patch would be just fine. While one guy was working on my tires, another was educating me on how to check the tread on my tires. These guys could have taken advantage of me and told me I needed 4 brand new tires, but instead they took the time to educate me so I could make informed decisions. They told me all 4 tires looked good and even filled my tires with air before I left! I highly recommend Katz Tires and will definitely go back for any tire needs in the future. read more

I got a flat tire with a nail in it. When I tell u they took 5 mins (my mind was blown) the costumer service was great and it was $60 for the entire thing. I waited over 30 minutes with no updates. when I went to go find somebody, they're were just sitting on their phone that's when I was told it was done. I went to the Katz on E. Livingston tires today, for a slow leak in my tires. I was greeted before I got of my car by kind a polite salespeople and mechanics . service was fine but they use a company for payment plans called acima which is an absolute scam. I am paying over double of what the cost of my tires were when I was told at Katz that acima was an interest free payment plan option. very enraged by this as the payment plan was not clearly conveyed at all and now I'm paying $300+ EXTRA for absolutely nothing. read more

Do NOT buy tires from Katz. They sold me a tire with a sidewall defect. I had the tires for just over a month. They ordered a replacement and put on my car and then proceeded to say I owed them money for the replacement. I told them they sold me a defective tire in the first place and I'm not paying. Today is November 3/03 i purchased 2 tires from Katz tires in Chillicothe Ohio on Western avenue. The tires where kenetica touring A/S kR 217. I was charged $150. Each. When i went online at Katz tires in Chillicothe Ohio i saw the same tire sale for $85. and change. Why was i overcharged so much money? I paid a total of $300. for 2 tires that only sold for $85. and some change a peice. I'm a retired marine sgt. That served this country and I really don't appreciate a business being ran like this. I'm hoping that you look into this issue and refunding me the amount that I was over charged. I'm also hoping that this will not happen again to paying customers. My dealership required an appointment - the next day. Second Star: 35 minutes from pulling in to back on the road. My dealership quoted me an hour plus for service. Third Star: The really nice older man who got everything set up was super nice and had a really good sense of humor. My dealership sounded like they were annoyed when they were talking to me on the phone. Fourth Star: $150 plus tax got me two new tires -balancing included. My dealership wanted $330 plus tax for the "special" tires my Sonata supposedly uses (yeah right) and tire balancing is extra. Fifth Star: The sign says they've been in open since 1908 which is 107 years in business and I think that's effing cool. Bonus point: The elderly Black lady that came in after me told them she couldn't afford the $40 for one used tire that they quoted her so they told her they'd do it for $30. Bonus point #2: If you buy any tires from Katz they will balance them for free, for the life of your tires. So how are the tires on your car? read more

Absolutely fantastic experience! I've had to top up one of my tires twice lately and assumed I had a slow leak. I called To ask if they could look at it and if I needed an appointment. They told me absolutely they could look at it and fix it and to just come in. In less than 20 minutes they were able to pull the tire to check for a leak. No leaks were found and the tire is fine (I'm sure the second low tire alert was due to my own operator error!) to top off this experience they did not charge me for checking it. I sent a email request for a quote for special tires at 10:30pm at night and got a response the same night. Apparently, someone is an insomniac, just like me! Price that was quoted was a no frills all inclusive price. They had to special order my tires, but I got a call by 10am saying they could get the tires in and install them same day. I had a tire with a slow leak. It was so cold outside that I was putting it off and just filling it up every week. But the colder it got the faster it would drain. So I knew that I would have to get this done really soon. So I asked for recommendations on Facebook for a good place to get cheap but good used tires. Katz was recommended to me the most. And it was close to home so I knew where I was going. I asked for a quote on the job and to make sure they had the right sized tires. The person who responded to me was nice and let me know they could possible save me even more money by just repairing the tire. So he said just to bring it in. So I did, and found out that they could repair it, but my tire was in bad shape, so it would probably be best to just get a new one. This was done in record time. He had the old tire off and noticed that there was a dent or bend in my rim. He told me he will try to fix that for me as well for no extra cost. Then he went inside and in no time was out with my new tire. The quality of my tire is really nice. And the whole thing only cost me 40 bucks!! So needless to say this process was super quick and easy. And the works were friendly. I'm def coming back if I have this issue again. A few months ago, I had a tire blow on me and I was forced to replace all four of my tires. It was something I was dreading for months given that it was almost winter time and the tread was thin and I didn't want to spend a ton of money. Fortunately, I stumbled across Katz Tires and read several reviews of the location here on Yelp and I was impressed. I made the short drive down to the shop to see how much it was going to set me back. Not going to lie, upon first sight, I was a little nervous given the shop's outward appearance. It isn't anything new or up dated, but it is a tire shop so I kept that in mind. I did call in advance and used their online quoting tool where they were very responsive (same day). So I had the name of the person I needed to talk to when I walked in. First impression of the inside, TIRES EVERYWHERE. They were stacked from floor to ceiling in the entire area. They had a very small, dated waiting area which I've seen before in other tire shops. Upon entering, I was greeted quickly by the person I talked to via email and he remembered my car. He quickly gave me the best options he had available at that time. He called up his supplier which was right down the road and before I knew it, I was being told to just wait and the car would be done in roughly an hour or two. I was shocked it would be that quick. Sure enough, after about an hour and a half, the guy came around and told me how much I owed and it matched what we agreed to and I was on my way. The pricing was very competitive and well within reason. The service was great and friendly. The shop could use some work, but again...it's a tire shop...so I'm not going to rate them negatively because of that. I will never use these guys again, they sold me tires that clearly have an issue. I even went with the upgrade option and yet less than a third of the way through the lifespan I need new tires and they really tried to tell me that was completely normal. Really? My tire was slashed and I got a tow to Katz. They got my car in the garage and my tire completely replaced in around 45 minutes even with a full lot of cars. These guys are old school cool! I had a flat tire a couple of days ago and was running on the spare. Everywhere else I went wanted to keep my tire a day or two to plug it and schedule an appointment next week to have it out on. I was driving home to get lunch and seen Katz so I pulled in and they took my tire plugged it and put it on in less than fifteen minutes and then refused to take any money for it. I went to Katz yesterday after reading all the positive reviews. I was really confused when I got to the business on where to enter but luckily someone waved me down! I went in and someone offered to look at my car really quickly, which was nice especially without an appointment. I waited about 10 minutes until the man came back and said I had a screw in my tire, and if he could fix it it would be $25 plus tax. About 10 minutes later I was rung up and out of the door. He didn't really explain exactly what they did but it seems to have fixed the problem so far! I'm a little worry I was overcharged.. but if I don't have any problems with that tire moving forward I'll be very satisfied! read more

Heard wonderful things about this place, so after delaying fixing my punctured tire for months, I went to Katz. First time I came in, it took them about 45 minutes to "fix my tire" and the guy hastily told me that it was good, that because the wait was so long the fix was on the house. When I examined the tired later, where the nail sat was a globber of rubber. Good to go, right? Within two days that globber had fallen off and I could see my old nail where it had been, sitting there, untouched. I was so disappointed! Nothing was fixed and I was more disappointed with the dishonesty. I decided to try again since maybe i needed to specify that I wanted the nail out. The guy fixed it within 10 minutes and its been about a month or so and everything is still going dandy...no leak. SO I hope that was just a fluke, that the guys here do a good job, but I'll be sure to update if anything changes. read more
