I had a serious problem with my AC: it blasted hot air when the car was in motion. My regular mechanic refilled the freon, tried to fix it, and found it was over his head. No charge for the labor, since he couldn't fix it, but $70 for the freon. He recommended I try the Toyota dealership. I went to the dealership, paid for the inspection, $300, which goes towards any work done. Was told I had two problems with the AC: the freon was over-filled, and the motherboard was bad. They guessed that the overfilled freon was the core problem, and the motherboard was causing a minor, unrelated issue. I expressed doubt, because the freon had just been refilled, and the problem had started before refilling it. The rep insisted that this was the most likely explanation, and that they had to refill the freon anyway. $350 for freon, of which $300 was already covered by the exam fee. Meanwhile $1.5k for the motherboard, which they didn't recommend replacing. So I pay for the freon, my rep says the problem's fixed. I drive away and as I do so I am blasted with 105 F air; the problem was not fixed at all, the freon was a red herring. I didn't want to spend $1.5k with a team that had already made one bad call so I decided to get a second opinion and chose Luke's based on their Yelp reviews. Luke's did an exam, $200 or $250, found that the freon was again overfilled, and thought the problem was with the HVAC actuator and quoted 2.3k. Ouch! (It's a lot of labor as they need to take out the entire dashboard.) I talked to both Luke's and the Toyota guys about their different opinions. Luke's was able to give me the error codes from their exam, while Toyota hadn't retained any paperwork at all. Moreover Luke's was willing to do a second exam, for free, to make sure they were right, while Toyota was not. Toyota agreed that if the actuator needed to be replaced, 2.3k was reasonable. I went back to Luke's for the second exam. They stood by their conclusions. So I bit the bullet and asked them to replace the actuator. They gave me a free car to drive while mine was in the shop. Turned out I didn't need it for long: they were able to replace the actuator quickly by going through a vent, rather than taking out the whole dash. This knocked about $1k off the job in labor. And when I got back in the car, lo and behold, it was fixed! I cannot overemphasis my elation. Luke's did better than the dealership, by a lot. They were accurate while the dealership was incorrect. They were scrupulous and offered a second exam for free. They figured out a way to save me money. And best of all they actually did the job. Highest possible recommendation.

It's just tedious to have your time wasted again and again. And I wouldn't want anyone to do that here. Also apparently I was making. A previous review of an oil change wheee they didn't reset my light. And them just leaving a voicemail telling me how to do it myself. Not really worth the value in my opinion if you're constantly doing the work for them and reminding them of your traumatic brain injury and accommodations you have previously requested. Tedious and arduous.

We got the inspection report emailed to us, which only indicated needing to replace engine and cabin air filters. But it also looked like our tires were over inflated based on the report. I mentioned this at pick up, and they double checked all four tires before we left to correct the issue. By the time we drove home, one tire was reading 39 psi after it was checked again, when it said 35 in the report originally and should have been 33 to begin with. I fixed the issue myself but just felt careless on their part. Also noticed that they didn't reattach the battery terminal cover, which again felt careless. A week later, we got three automated emails that said we were recommend battery replacement, suspension repair, and shock/strut replacement during our last visit and that we needed to schedule those services. All of these things were marked as okay in the report, so needless to say they won't be getting any more of my business.

Terrible and shameful and Grismer should refund my money on the brake fluid flush I did not ask for, they suggested, and they did this work without my request, I said "rear brakes" and they included the flush. Terrible.

I was quoted 224 dollars for the service, and was told it would be done by 1:00. The assistant manager Hunter then told me at 1:15 (they only started working in my vehicle at 1:00) that they could not repair my tire as "someone has already repaired it," (which is untrue as I've only had the tire less than a year and have never had it repaired) and that I needed to buy another new tire. So now I've had to pay 450 dollars. I had to wait another hour for my vehicle to be completed. Once I got back in the vehicle, my tire pressure light was on, and my dash said "tire pressure monitor system maintenance required." When I came this morning, I had no lights or warnings on my dash. The service tech (I believe his name was Titus) then lied to me, saying that he had to "re-learn" the tire pressure sensors to the car, and that the passenger side rear tire pressure sensor was dead. I told him this was impossible, as I had them replaced in January of this year at the dealership. The assistant manager Hunter then checked my vehicle, and told me that the service tech (Titus?) never "re-learned" the sensors to the vehicle, and that he had to do it himself! TLDR: This Discount Tire will overcharge you, lie to you, avoid any accountability, and disrespect your time. Go anywhere but here.
