TL;DR: Luke's is great. Honest and fair value, and saved me a ton of money. They have my highest possible recommendation. Buckle in because this is a long story. I had a serious problem with my AC: it blasted hot air when the car was in motion. My regular mechanic refilled the freon, tried to fix it, and found it was over his head. No charge for the labor, since he couldn't fix it, but $70 for the freon. He recommended I try the Toyota dealership. I went to the dealership, paid for the inspection, $300, which goes towards any work done. Was told I had two problems with the AC: the freon was over-filled, and the motherboard was bad. They guessed that the overfilled freon was the core problem, and the motherboard was causing a minor, unrelated issue. I expressed doubt, because the freon had just been refilled, and the problem had started before refilling it. The rep insisted that this was the most likely explanation, and that they had to refill the freon anyway. $350 for freon, of which $300 was already covered by the exam fee. Meanwhile $1.5k for the motherboard, which they didn't recommend replacing. So I pay for the freon, my rep says the problem's fixed. I drive away and as I do so I am blasted with 105 F air; the problem was not fixed at all, the freon was a red herring. I didn't want to spend $1.5k with a team that had already made one bad call so I decided to get a second opinion and chose Luke's based on their Yelp reviews. Luke's did an exam, $200 or $250, found that the freon was again overfilled, and thought the problem was with the HVAC actuator and quoted 2.3k. Ouch! (It's a lot of labor as they need to take out the entire dashboard.) I talked to both Luke's and the Toyota guys about their different opinions. Luke's was able to give me the error codes from their exam, while Toyota hadn't retained any paperwork at all. Moreover Luke's was willing to do a second exam, for free, to make sure they were right, while Toyota was not. Toyota agreed that if the actuator needed to be replaced, 2.3k was reasonable. I went back to Luke's for the second exam. They stood by their conclusions. So I bit the bullet and asked them to replace the actuator. They gave me a free car to drive while mine was in the shop. Turned out I didn't need it for long: they were able to replace the actuator quickly by going through a vent, rather than taking out the whole dash. This knocked about $1k off the job in labor. And when I got back in the car, lo and behold, it was fixed! I cannot overemphasis my elation. Luke's did better than the dealership, by a lot. They were accurate while the dealership was incorrect. They were scrupulous and offered a second exam for free. They figured out a way to save me money. And best of all they actually did the job. Highest possible recommendation. read more

Had a not so good experience here. I paid extra for diagnostic, but was never told what was wrong, until I asked. Was told my car needed over $900 worth of work... when I got a second opinion at a car service place in Hilliard, was told half that price, and car was perfect after service was completed. Overpriced and totally took advantage of a car that was towed in. When you have your mechanic soulmate two hours from you kid's car telling you how much it should cost and this place comes in at twice that price.... well learn from us ... this is a terrible place. My interaction with Alex Mickley and Alvaro (Tech) was so efficient that I wish the overall experience had been positive. I took my car in for an oil change and suspension concerns. After an inspection, I was told there wasn't anything wrong, even though noises were coming from the front and rear of my car. Additionally, my car was leaking oil only after they changed the oil. I took my car to another shop, and they found that my front sway bar links were completely cracked open and that a plastic cover in the back lacked clips, causing rattling in both places. Lastly, the most frustrating thing to find out was that my undercarriage splash shield was left with only ONE bolt to hold it in place after their service, so it was heavily dangling. If I didn't have access to reliable people, I wouldn't have even known Luke's Auto did such a poor job with my car, and I would have continued to drive my car until it lost steering or leaked the remaining oil. read more

can't say enough great things about my experience at luke's auto repair! I had an issue where my tire pressure light kept coming on, and they found an issue where the tire was leaking where it meets the wheel well (I think? haha). I was so impressed I scheduled my oil change there as well. best part - anything they say they check on your car, they photograph. so you can actually see what they checked and what needs fixed or worked on. a+ service, for sure! Every aspect about coming to this place went well. They gave me a thorough diagnostic listing the most to least urgent repairs that should be made, along with explanations and youtube videos explaining the repair. They gave me a free loaner car which I only used for a day because they were so quick at fixing the repairs I requested (which were pretty serious ones). Every single person I spoke to was extremely kind, understanding, and helped me understand the issues my car was having. Luke's has been my go to auto care business for seven or eight years now. I've had the routine stuff (oil change, tire, rotation, top off the fluids) and more significant stuff (fixing wheel bearings, replacing the water pump, brakes and rotors). This is the only place I trust with my car, and the service they provide is top notch. The work is done well, for a fair price, and I can trust they're honest about the work -- always with a smile. In particular, Josh, who helped me out during my last visit, was particularly personable and helpful. I think a lot of people have challenging experiences with mechanic shops - either they've been pressured to have unnecessary work done, they've been screwed on the price, or they've just had a bad experience with the people working there. That has been the furthest thing from true at Luke's. I can confidently say: Luke's is my only choice for an auto shop, and one of my favorite local businesses around Central, Ohio. Josh was the most helpful service advisor I've ever worked with. He kept me updated on the progress of my auto repair (oil change; front/ back brakes and rotors) and made sure that the job got turned around quickly. I dropped the car off on Friday and they got the parts ordered and the repair done within a business day - actually finished a day sooner than I expected. During that time, they put me in a loaner for the weekend and it was all in all a hassle free experience. All that and the price was reasonable as well. I'm very happy with the work done by Luke's Auto! I brought my car in for a failed clutch master cylinder, and some clunking in the rear end.
