They did an oil change and inspection on my vehicle and identified what needed to be fixed.

Set an appointment for an oil change - in and out with no problems. Will definitely do business again.

Since moving to Columbus in mid-2017, I hadn't taken my car to an actual garage, preferring to just…read moreget my regular oil changes at the usual drive-thru chains. But with an aging car that is starting to get leaks and other wear and tear, I knew it was high time to finally get an inspection. Fortunately, Yelp recommended Tom & Jerry's, and after taking it in and getting some substantial service done, I couldn't be happier with my experience. One of the great things about T&J's is that they text you a link to your inspection report, which lists urgent, not-so-urgent, and recommended items to address...and pictures of all of the problem areas. I was actually quite relieved that my car's main leak was from cracked transmission lines and not an actual failing transmission. Even if I didn't have some basic mechanical knowledge, it would have been obvious from the pictures that the lines needed to be replaced. Likewise, images of battery life, ride quality, and other factors all helped me opt to fix the more urgent service items. When talking to the technician over the phone, he never tried to sell me on the less urgent items (such as a loose sway bar), and the prices quoted were very reasonable. Ultimately, I spent $1200 on four tires, a new battery, a replaced passenger mirror (labor only -- I'd brought in the part), an oil change, the inspection itself, and the replacement transmission lines. It would be an exaggeration to say my car feels new, but there's something to be said for the peace of mind that it's been thoroughly inspected, and the key issues have been addressed. Given that I was dreading having to potentially shop for a new car, I'm especially glad for T&J's service. One minor negative that is nonetheless worth mentioning is that they don't have much of a waiting area, and there aren't any decent places to sit for awhile nearby (the Starbucks, five blocks away, is drive-thru only!). After wandering around the area for awhile, I wound up just getting a Lyft home. Not a big deal at all, but just be prepared to drop off your car and have a pick-up option ready.

Wow! This place is a complete rip off. $140 Oil change and tire rotation?!…read more Scheduled online, for a Friday just an oil change and tire rotation on my '17 Camry. At 110K miles I've had one every 5K miles.I've paid an average of $40-$60 over its lifetime but.. never $140. There was no quote online or in person I was ever given, I was in no way expecting $140. I told them this at the counter, and they said they quoted other shops around and they're all there. Ok.. uh no. Regardless I'll never be back. No communication, drop off 8am, vehicle was ready at 4:30(not a problem necessarily, but an opportunity for sure).

I recently had the water pump replaced on my vehicle at Luke's Auto Shop. Unfortunately, shortly…read moreafter the repair, I discovered that a coolant hose clamp associated with the water pump had been left improperly installed. This caused coolant to leak into the engine bay and could have led to much more serious engine damage if it hadn't been caught quickly. A mistake like this is concerning because the cooling system is a critical component, and something as basic as verifying that all hose clamps are properly secured should be part of every final inspection before a vehicle is returned to the customer. That said, I also believe it's important to recognize when a business makes a genuine effort to address a problem. Once the issue was brought to the shop's attention, the service manager handled the situation professionally. While the original workmanship issue should not have occurred, he did what he could to make the situation right by listening to my concerns, arranging for the vehicle to be checked over, and working to restore my confidence in the repair. No repair shop is immune to mistakes, but how those mistakes are handled matters. In this case, the initial repair fell short of the standard I expected, but the service manager's professionalism and willingness to stand behind the work improved what could have been a much worse experience. Overall, I hope the shop strengthens its quality-control procedures to ensure critical items like coolant hose connections are verified before vehicles leave the shop. If they do, I believe they can provide a much more consistently positive customer experience.

I went to Luke's about a month ago, because I needed to get my transmission flushed. I was…read moreincredibly happy with the service. First of all, when you set up an appointment, you can request a loaner car, so that you don't need to wait there for the car, and I didn't have to miss work. I also saw a different rep ordering someone an Uber for a different customer because who didn't have appointment so there wasn't a loaner available. Secondly, I originally went in for a transmission flush. While I was at work, I got a text and email of the inspection they had done. The inspection was really easy to read, and gave me different levels of recommendations for other things that needed to be done. Some things were urgent, and some things were needed soon, but not urgent, and there were some things that were for maintenance only. On my lunch break, I called my service rep, and he was able to talk me through all of the things on the report, and explain things to me, because I am pretty illiterate when it comes to cars. I ended up also getting my drive belt replaced as well. But my rep made sure to let me know what the price would before I decided to go through with it. At the end of my work day, I drove my loaner car back to Luke's and picked my car up, and was on my way. Overall, the inspection report, and the loaner car I think is what really separates Luke's from the rest. When I've taken my car to get an oil change or the tires replaced at other places, i've always had to wait in the lobby and its a waste of time. I lost no time with Luke's and knew exactly what was happening to my car. Take your car to Luke's if you want incredible service.

Only since they had a $39.95 for a FULL SYNTHETIC OIL CHANGE is the ONLY reason I went to Tuffy's…read moreat this location. They are the BIGGEST RIP OFF I've experienced in a very long time! Here's a few examples ... TUFFYs on WEST 5th Av told me I needed SUSPENSION STRUTS ($1664 worth) coz my vehicle was "very bouncy" which it isn't AT ALL & they didn't even drive the car! Note: I had a 4 WHEEL ROTATION/BALANCE AND ALIGNMENT the day before elsewhere. I called back to the place that did my alignment to be sure they checked all suspension components (just out of curiosity since it's hard to trust some of these places) and they DID to find nothing that needed replaced! Then Tuffy said I "needed" a BATTERY REPLACEMENT coz there was some RESIDUE on it! Instead of just wiping it off, they'd prefer to rip off a customer! That was going to be $200! They sure don't go out of their way, in the very least! Then I "needed" SPARK PLUGS... (I had those replaced 3 years ago and had no issues there either.) Another $300! Then I "needed" BRAKE FLUID FLUSH (No reason just that it needed to be topped off) Oh they don't do top offs for a simple pouring of fluid into the reservoir until it reaches the full line! They'd rather charge $115 for a FLUSH! Then I "needed" STEERING COMPONENTS (tie rods & steering gear) Again, I had no issues there. Oh, that was an additional $500. The next day AFTER this BS nightmare, I brought the list of repairs from TUFFY to my regular car repair place that I've used for a decade for any major problems come up coz he's proven to be trustworthy. He did a DIAGNOSTIC and found nothing wrong with any of the above issues. (Which I already felt I knew but wanted confirmation.) So, THIS is what they call a "FREE COURTESY INSPECTION!" I'd call it something else but all in all saved myself $3,000 coz I speak up, ask questions, decline and follow thru with what I knew was a means of financial exploitation. Stay away from THIS TUFFY's LOCATION on 1524 W Fifth Ave
