He also had to replace some drywall behind our sink that was in bad shape. He insisted on making sure the job was done right. He is very meticulous and detail oriented. He was very communicative during the process and completed the whole job in a timely fashion. We are certainly going to hire him back to do the tile in our bathrooms.

I was looking to have a relatively small 4x3 shower waterproofed and tiled. I explained that I was interested in a curbless entry or low-profile curb. Rather than discussing options, Mike seemed to focus on explaining why curbless would be too much work and why going with a curb would be easier. His overall demeanor also came across as somewhat unpersonable and not particularly interested in working through what I was looking for. After taking measurements, he provided a quote of $10,000 for waterproofing and tiling the shower alone, not including tile or any of the necessary materials. The estimate wasn't itemized, which made it difficult to understand how the cost was broken down. I understand that quality work comes at a cost and that construction isn't inexpensive these days. However, I received three additional quotes for the same scope of work, all ranging between $4,000 and $6,000. That was a pretty significant difference. Ultimately, I got the impression that Mike wasn't particularly interested in taking on the project. The experience felt like a waste of time for both parties. I wish the interaction had been more personable and the estimate more transparent.

Brian's supervisor came out three times as well to start the job, monitor progress, and check the completed project. Brian did an excellent job. This was a replacement of a floor placed as part of an addition. He pulled out the old and replaced in-kind, but with marked improvements. They layout was much improved, the boards were tight even before nailing, and he nailed them at a slightly tighter schedule. These should last 50 years. I'm extremely impressed with their work!

When I called the toll free number, a young Latina answered and while pleasant, had NO idea what her company's service area was! She proceeded to place me on hold, to "check with her manager" and after a couple of minutes - came back to the line and said she had spoken to her manager and that she would leave a message for someone to call me back... In disbelief, I reiterated my [very simple] question; "Do you service the El Dorado county area?" She said she didn't know (having JUST spoken with her "manager") and that she'd have to leave a message. Unbelievable. Who hires someone to answer the phones for a service-based business and doesn't train them in the basics of their company and the services they offer? To the owner of this seemingly professional company: Please take the time to train (or re-train) your staff so they can properly and professionally represent the business you have worked so hard to build. Needless to say, I told the young lady, "never mind, I'm not interested." Guess I'll be going to the next flooring company on Yelp who IS interested in my business.
