Highly recommend. Great service very knowledge people, Gus was very helpful. Very good products..

I have been working with Crownhill for a few months now on landscaping materials to completely redo my backyard. Gus Cardozo has been outstanding. From giving me suggestions on what type of stone and products to use for my walkways and seating areas to making sure the deliveries to my house are done on time and I even getting a courtesy call about an hour before they arrive. It has been a pleasure working with them, thank you so much Gus for all the help. read more

Gus helped us find exactly what we needed and we love the results. We had same-day delivery on Lodi stone for the front yard and large rocks for the stream + Half Moon Bay blue gravel and mulch for the side yard. Just got the soil for our new raised beds yesterday, so we'll be ready for planting the new veggie garden. Thanks, Gus & Team! read more

This place offers a wide selection at fair prices....BUT during my first order of gravel for a backyard project I specifically requested that the driver dump the gravel towards the rear of my driveway as close to the back as possible. I spoke to them at least four times stating this and even suggested that the driver call me directly if they had any questions. What happens? The driver dumped a pile of rocks in the front of my driveway which is the opposite of what I asked for, creates extra work and makes my driveway unusable for several days. Maybe a 5th call would have worked? Oh well, can't win em' all. read more

I highly recommend Crown Materials. I worked with Gus Cardozo who was very helpful for helping me find the right bricks to make a beautiful brick pathway in my front yard. He gave me samples to try for color matching and was pleasant to work with. The delivery was on time & the materials were excellent. Thank you very much to Gus & all the staff at Crown Materials. read more

Gave them a call and the guy who answered wasn't exactly knowledgeable on the material but he was friendly and did direct me to someone who did know. Selection was very impressive and prices were very reasonable. Definitely my first stop for landscaping materials! John R's review was very unfair. What a douche. Read the reviews that for some reason are not recommended, those reviews are more inline with my opinion. read more

All right so I do admit I Always thought this place was for professionals only since it's so big, but turns out no restrictions whatsoever. Joe was great and the customer service was excellent. I got some really beautiful dolomite at a great deal. I have to do my landscaping in rocks because if it's green I guarantee I will kill it. And rather than run around to a bunch of different locations, you can guarantee that I'll be coming back. Thank you! read more

Tried to get some large boulders that they have on posted on their website. Called 4 times to find out if the boulders were available. Nobody every once called me back when they said each time they would. I was told they could not get an answer from their manager if the boulders were available. I was told the owner comes in whenever he wants and sometimes not even days/week at a time so he couldn't verify with the owner. Then I was told i could get pics of the boulders And that they were available. No pics ever came of the boulders and then they basically just gave up on trying to get me the boulders. they told me to go to a different company. Why post on your website that you have a certain boulder if you can't get them or are not even willing to try. Awful customer service!!!! do not go there. read more

Patio furniture: one rectangle table and 2 circular end tables with metal frames and glass tops. They were ready for the junk yard until I went of to Crown Hill! I restored the gloss black paint; replaced the "deco" print under the end tables; sealed it, and shot it with exterior gloss black paint; added the stones with lacquer - BOOM! Very impressive! Gus was SUPER helpful, and the price was great! Excellent customer service, and as you can see, great suggestions! Like any business, if you get there without a long line of customers, you can take your time to discuss projects. They have been super helpful for several projects. Will definitely be a loyal customer! CV read more

If I were ever to quit retirement I would apply for a job at Crown Hill. I can't remember dealing with a more positive crew. How often do you see EVERYONE smiling on the Job? And to a man, they know their stuff. The young man in the yard directed us to a palate that had been opened, saving us from purchasing too much product (flagstone). Saved us money, and considerable labor. Gus helped me calculate the necessary materials, as I am mathematically challenged. He also coordinated delivery, which required both a flat bed and dump truck. The dump truck arrived first thing in the morning---no delays. The flat bed followed, and again I was impressed with how pleasant the crew was. I was particularly impressed with Fred, the fork lift operator who placed the load PERFECTLY. The man is an artist. Hope you enjoy the pix, they were more fun to take than the project was to complete. read more

Made multiple visits and purchases from Crown Hill Materials. Staff is professional and consistently helpful. Variety of products is outstanding. So thankful a place like this exists in Vallejo! read more

I've used Crown Hill for years and dozens of projects - always professional- the entire staff ( esp Mary) are so helpful. I won't use any other place for my landscaping materials - totally reliable. Not sure about these negative reviews? Seems perhaps a few people - not very familiar with landscape construction, have been frustrated , and this is reflecting negatively on Crown Hill- I assure you it's not the staff. This place is the best! read more

Associate was condescending, rude, seemed annoyed. I know nothing about rocks and they made me feel very small about it. I rather go somewhere else, even pay a little more just so I can feel like my money went to a well deserved company. read more

Would recommend this place as your landscape supplier. I'm doing a large backyard remodel with pavers, retaining walls, and turf. I'm purchasing myself so this is my first time with many of these materials. Gus was very helpful, found us in the lot and helped us out as we navigated the various products. This can be an intimidating process for a DIYer. He showed us through their large selection of samples, and helped us select exactly which products to purchase. Mary responded quickly to my emails with pricing and availability. Overall very happy with this company to supply us with our building materials, will come here again for the next project. read more

This place is amazing! Their customer service is what customer service is supposed to be like! They are knowledgeable, courteous, and get the job done! Please make yourself a favor and don't use this company anymore for concrete use , better go with a honest one ,I asked the guy on the phone for 20 min discount because his employee mess up many time and he said we would put a lin in your property if you dont pay jajs I paid them 120 dol but please read this before you hire them again go somewhere else read more

I had a very good experience with this company when buying materials for my backyard project. They have tons of selections like natural stone and porcelain pavers. I like that they have samples on site so we can get a real feel of the look. All the people there helping us were really friendly and helpful. We spent a lot of time there, but the staffs were very patient with us. I will definitely recommend them for your landscaping material needs! Thank you Crown Hill Materials! read more

This place made me excited to start on my paving project. There was so much material to look at and it was great to see the various examples of paving and retaining walls. The staff are knowledgeable and extremely helpful. We were walked around the property, showed us examples of what material are good for our project, and gave us books to bring home. Doing projects of this magnitude can be overwhelming, so I'm glad that there is a place helpful and friendly enough to walk you though some of the work. read more

Excellent customer. The lady behind the counter (mary) is really friendly. I felt really comfortable doing business with this company. They were really happy showing us all our options. Crown Hill Materials - Building Supplies Near Me - Vallejo, California

These guys are awesome and prices are great!! I live up a steep narrow driveway with electrical lines all over the place, so a neighbor told me to tell them to bring a small truck bc the larger one may get hung up on the power lines (she suggested them in the first place).... I guess there was some miscommunication and they accidentally brought the big truck, but the driver (I may be spelling incorrectly, but I think his name was Wyndell) was epic and got that big ole truck right up our hill without hitting any lines. The guys I spoke to in the office and the driver were both super cool and accommodating, so I really appreciated that. It was super easy to schedule and the prices are fair. I was also impressed at the ability of the driver to get such a large amount of wood chips into this tiny tarped off area in our driveway... it was like magic!! Would definitely recommend! read more

I am working on getting my yard ready for the future rain and having dogs with a muddy mess in a huge yard of dirt! I went into Crown Hill Materials without knowing what the heck to do. First step was to pick out and price the ground covering material. They have a vast array of samples on a side yard that you can view without having to walk the yard. The gentleman in the store helped me with pricing. Went home to measure. Called to place an order and set up delivery. GUS was absolutely amazing at helping me figure out what I needed for my project in my yard. I measured the yard and he did all the work. From helping me figure out how much material I need to proper delivery times and dates. I had no idea what I was doing just knew what measurements, material I wanted and when I needed delivery. He held my hand through it all with ease, accuracy and timeliness. Extremely friendly and professional. I HIGHLY recommend Crown Hill Materials! Can't wait to have my yard look half way decent and combat the dirt/mud. THANK YOU GUS FOR ALL YOUR HARD WORK AND PATIENCE!! read more

Great Customer Service. Friendly knowledgeable staff. Delivery was on time and prices are reasonable. Good selection as well.

I am sad to write this review since I've done business with this company for over 7 years and had no issues. This time was different. I bought ready mix and rented one of their dump trailers, just as I did a couple of years back. This time I was charged a 50.00 cleaning fee. The guy that checked in and inspected the trailer said nothing. The charge was only noticed when we got the receipt in the office. I returned that trailer in the same condition it was given to me. I scraped every crevice of that thing and sprayed it down. I even scraped off some of the old concrete that was there before I got it, just to be sure they didn't charge me a cleaning fee. I tried to work it out with them to no avail. If you insist on using them be sure and take before and after pictures of the inside of the trailer and ask the guy inspecting it if it passed. I couldn't tell you about how competitive their pricing is because I never checked around. To me the relationship is as important as the price and they just blew our relationship. read more

Do not waste your time.. I set up a delivery 1 day in advance, and after being 4 hours late I was alittle upset. There excuse was their waiting on a driver. Every time I called it was another excuse. Do not buy from here, I mean come on 4 hours late, what kind of shop is this. No apology or anything they were talking to me like it was my fault. They did give me a small refund after they were trying to charge me a restock fee cause I wanted to cancel my order, even though I hadn't received my order. After dealing with the male on the phone I was done with them. When I showed up the lady tried to be nice, but I was beyond that point. I will never buy anything from this place or send any of my friends. DO NOT SUPPORT THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!! read more

We have lived in Vallejo for more that 44 years. We bought our house new and needed lots of landscaping material. We very lucky to find Crown Hill early on and have supported them over the years. Today I needed four smaller boulders to complete a project. Unfortunately, I arrived about five minutes after closing but the young man let me go inside to pick up the rock. My husband loaded them in the trunk and we proceed to the entry and I had wallet in hand to pay. My husband popped the truck and the young fellow that let me in, another gentleman and a man who identified himself as Tony looked in the truck. Tony said, you can have them! What????? In my excitement and forgetting social distancing, I hugged him!! It has been years since I got anything free and I could not believe it. First of all, they let me in and to get the rock free made my day. I was walking on a cloud. Unbelievable and much appreciated. All I can do is say thank you and pay it forward at my first opportunity. I will continue to support this awesome business and sing their praises forever. Isn't it funny how the little things mean the world to you!! Tony, you made my day!!!!!! read more
