Pretty cute little brunch cafe with ample outdoor seating along Orange ave. Coffee was good, but I don't believe I ever got a refill. Although, I don't drink my coffee that fast anyways, so the one full cup of coffee plus water was enough for me. Additionally, the waitress asked if I wanted either hot sauce or ketchup. I said ketchup, but I think she forgot about it. I was too antisocial and apathetic to even ask her again and just ate my food. Lol. I like the jars for the water. I got a Napolitano Joe's scramble. The eggs were soft and fluffy. There was a ton of spinach, which I am content with. However, there was not much garlic while I prefer a bit more. I also found the flavor of the sausage to be somewhat underwhelming. Hash browns were.....fine? Like, generically decent. I did enjoy the thicker sourdough toast and the higher quality jam.

One of my absolute favorites in all of Coronado. The specials are always delicious and change so often. The mimosas are the best you can find anywhere. They are MASSIVE. You can't find anything like these. They recently started making their own syrups for them. I love the California scramble and my daughter always get the pancake special which changes so often.

We absolutely love this place! The food is always fresh and delicious, service is super friendly, they always have specials and to top it off they have giant mimosas! We come here at least once a month for brunch. We love the outside seating and ambiance and they do a pretty good job of getting people in and seated. We love the hospitality that we get when we come here. They also have a great variety of coffees. You won't be disappointed coming here for brunch!

Given the location and the ratings I saw I was expecting a lot better from this restaurant. However we didn't have a great experience and the food was not as good as I thought it would be. We were seated outside as the majority of seating is outside. And while the weater the pleasant the flies certainly were not. I don't usually like to eat outside because I don't enjoy flies buzzing around while I am eating. While that is not the fault of the restaurant they didn't ask if we wanted to be seated inside or outside. So we were kind of stuck. The food is not very kid friendly and is aimed more at adults. The kid at our table ordered a Belgian waffle but it was way too big and he didn't end up finishing it. I ordered eggs Benedict and while the eggs were cooked perfectly the hollandaise sauce was so bland. The hash browns that came with were bland too and had zero flavor. My boyfriend ordered basic steak and eggs and he also wasn't impressed with lack of flavor in his food. Coronado has so many fun places to eat. If I ever come back I don't think I'll be returning here.

Crown Bistro in Coronado (attached to the Crown City Inn) is a charming little bistro that offers a cozy atmosphere and indoor and outdoor seating . Inside you get more hip vibes with upbeat music, while outside, you get more beachy bistro vibes. We ordered: Mimosa flight - Sour apple, Mango, Watermelon New York Steak chilaquiles (daily special) New York Steak & eggs Crab Benedict Hash Benedict Pancake & side of fruit (no kids menu)

Cute place located in a small hotel. Great patio seating and prompt service. Eggs Benedict were on point. Hash browns were crispy and tasty. Parking is on the street but wasn't too hard. Lunch starts at 11am and they won't budge on the time. Still great and I would return

I would say overall the meal was good but nothing to write home about. The server was quick but not particularly friendly. I ordered the Denver omelette which is pretty standard from place to place. Not oily which I appreciated. It was a $1 up charge for egg whites which isn't bad compared to other Cali restaurants which charge 2-4 bucks which is crazy. Hash browns were decent, again not oily which I like. I upgraded my side to a single pancake. It was a large portion so that was appreciated but it was visibly burnt when she brought it. I didn't make a stink bc a. I didn't have time to wait for another and b. I knew I wouldn't finish it so I kinda ate around the char but the server should know better than to bring that out. That being said, it was good texture and decent flavor but again nothing to write home about. I did enjoy the homemade jam. Overall, for $30 breakfast... not sure I would be back and everything was good.

The workers are super nice and the service was quick! The restaurant has a cozy and almost sunset-esque feel to it. The food tastes homemade but made to perfection! Please support this place when you are in the Coronado area!

Cute bistro with so much charm! They had normal portion sizes (which is hard to find in the US as a whole) and the dishes left us feeling satisfied, but not overly stuffed! Service is quick, super friendly, and the outdoor patio is a sunny dream!

We spent the night at this hotel and wanted to try the restaurant. It is a charming little place that is currently has dinner service Thursday through Saturday. Theresa and Jorge were our fine dining servers and they were professional and friendly. They started this off with their freshly baked ciabatta bread. We told them to please only bring two pieces. They did and they are very large pieces. We split one and took the other home to enjoy later as it was excellent. It was slightly crispy on the outside and soft and warm on the inside. Next, we had a chicken vegetable soup and French onion soup. We enjoyed both. I ordered the scallops special with risotto and vegetables. Though I would have liked the scallops cooked 30 seconds longer, they were good and melted in your mouth. Don ordered Osso buco with pasta and vegetables. It was excellent and the lamb was tender. It seemed like a lot of locals come here and we can see why. This will be our "go to" place for dinner.

So we've seen this restaurant and the ambience of it is absolutely lovely. However.. I ordered the fettuccine and it was the most saltiest dish I've ever tasted in my whole life and I had only one bite. Had I ate the whole thing which was ridiculously disgusting I would've had a heart attack the same night. My boyfriend had the gnucci with crab and his pasta was so overcooked and hard, you could throw it through a car window and it might break. I tried one of his and I almost threw up. Told the owner about it and she walked away and never came back. It didn't matter because I no longer wanted to eat there and we just walked away. They have good lemons and water and that's all. Will never return. It was like always wanting to meet your favorite celebrity and you find out they are a prick. Yes that's how this experience was.

This restaurant is so quaint and cute! Food is not only delicious but beautifully presented. Service has been top notch every time I have visited! Our server Bella has been a absolute pleasure every time. This breakfast was exceptionally delicious & can't wait to come back.

I think the name was in homage to the orange trees (and buildings to protect them) that were planted along the avenue by the original settlers of Coronado. There was a lovely outdoor patio in front of the entrance. The interior had several tables across from the open kitchen for inside seating. If you don't mind being outside, then dining al fresco is the way to go. A menu of the day was available that featured drinks, salty, sweet, and dessert items. The main menu was several pages long with a few of them dedicated to drinks. For a French bistro, the variety of items was solid. From the list of nine Main Courses, I chose the Creamy Chicken which was a chicken breast coated with cream and mushrooms. French fries and a salad came as sides to the dish. The flavor of the creamed mushroom sauce was good while the fries were ordinary. My concern was the prices as they seemed high, especially for some of the more simple preparations. I noticed that Chef Philippe and all of the staff were fluent in French which was a good sign for the camraderie of the team. The service I received from multiple workers was fine. A happy hour runs from 2:30 to 5:30 daily. I rounded the rating for my dining experience at L'Orangerie up to a four star level because I really liked the ambiance of this new café.

The white wine of the day was Chardonnay and the cocktail of the day was an agave spritz. Our server was kind enough to tell us that the burgers did not come with fries, just in case we felt like the portions weren't sufficient. Our server was quick with our drinks and refills. The food took a bit longer to come out. *Agave Spritz: a fragrant take on a spritz. I actually appreciated how it was not overly carbonated nor sugary. This was a refreshing pairing with all the fried items we ordered. *Pommes Frites: classically crispy and fluffy. Came with a choice of ketchup or aioli. *Croquettes: came with five airy and crispy balls on a pool of mornay sauce. The menu mentioned an aioli, but my order did not come with any. Thankfully, the balls were flavorful themselves. The mornay sauce was on the thicker side and there was some clumpiness, but it added pleasant creaminess. *Burger Parisienne: my preferred burger of the two offered. The bordelaise was done well, and the red wine added a complex sweetness to the burger. The patty was thick and the toppings made the overall flavor similar to an In-N-Out burger. *Burger Americaine: a classic American burger that resembled In-N-Out, but with a thicker patty. Good thing I enjoy both. The vegetables were fresh, but I would have liked a bit more of the special sauce. *Little Gems: a rather acidic and simple dressing. The little gems lettuce was cleaned well and was crispy. The radish offered some crunch and the herbs were fragrant. I would have cut the herbs a bit more though. This was quite a satisfying happy hour experience, although nothing was exceptional besides the croquettes. I would like to return to try their breakfast options, and Saint James does offer some interesting dishes that others do not. The pricing was fair for the quality we received.

The ambience of this place was great, although maybe next time we'll sit in their outside/garden/patio area. The inside was just as nice, felt like we were in Paris as this is a French inspired/themed restaurant. Our waiter Kyle was really nice. He seemed a little busy though which helped in his lack of attention, but overall he was cool. Did a great a job answering our questions. We opted for a lot of different choices. The list is in no particular order but will highlight which was a table fave. - Parker Loaf [$12] need this to be a tad bit bigger to justify the price. Really good loaf of bread to start with though esp the rosemary butter. 4/5 - Fresh Oysters, 6 ct [$21] Really good oysters, super fresh, very "fat" & "meaty" 5/5 - Granita Oysters 6ctx2 [$25] Same oysters as above, BUT filled w/a yuzu/lemon concoction along w/pear pearls, TABLE FAVE for sure 5/5 (started with a 6 count before our mains & HAD to get another 6 after) - Mussels [$27] Very fresh and well seasons mussels, although the sauce was a bit odd tasting. It was white wine mixed with something they called "a cousin of absinthe" 4/5 - Wagyu tartare [$31] YUM! TABLE FAVE, wish it came with more bread though, that bone marrow was chef's kiss along with the sauce they paired the dish with 5/5 For the mains, two did the Top Sirloin [$48 each] which was described as 'melt in your mouth goodness' which came w/a square shaped potato & a piece of biggish mushroom. The two others did the Short Rib [$42 each] which was described as 'the demi-glaze makes' & 'it's fall off the bone.' I had the Poisson which was the fresh catch of the day (salmon) [$38] & it was really good! Came with bokchoy which was drenched in a maple sauce. That contradicted the lemony/citrusy sauce the salmon came in. There were greens on top of the salmon to complete the meal. Solid dish! I'd skip the deconstructed creme brulee [$15] as that was nobody's favorite. It left us leaving a "real" creme brulee... Do get the opera cake [$15] tho, that one was a TABLE FAVE! Do note that dinners here take a while as the chefs create masterpieces. Our dinner for 5 turned into a 3-4 hour affair, which was fine. Good times!

The service was excellent throughout the night, and for the most part, the kitchen delivered on some amazing flavors. We shared several dishes: * Steamed Mussels & Scallops: Perfectly prepared. * Pasta & Wagyu Beef: Rich, delicious, and beautifully plated. * Burrata Salad: While the flavors were good, this was our only disappointment. The greens didn't seem fresh and had some wilted/rotten leaves, appearing as though it might have been sitting out too long before reaching the table. A quick tip on logistics: Like many popular spots in San Diego, parking was a bit of a challenge, so definitely give yourself some extra time to find a space in the neighborhood. For this restaurant, the stunning atmosphere and the quality of the main courses made for a memorable meal. We'd certainly come back for the vibes and those scallops!

Every time I come it is consistently delicious and I am very happy to hear that it they are opening a second location very close to my family's house in Rancho Santa Fe so now North County will be covered as well. Inside is very large and designed beautifully and is the sort of place you want to stay a while or take a date that you care about. It's a bit upscale, but the pricing is not too much. I would say business casual, but it really is a great date option. Our server was extremely polite and as always everything that we ordered came out very fast. Parking in Banker's Hill is extremely easy. We were able to find a street spot two blocks away and that's usually the case when I come here. For this visit, I started off with the Wagyu Beef Tartare and absolutely loved it. It had great flavor and everything about it was just wonderful. For my entrée I chose the Boeuf Bourguignon and that too was delicious. It had some really deep rich flavors and every part of it was just made very well. I was a huge fan of it and would highly recommend. Overall, I really love this place and would suggest to anyone in San Diego or visiting.

I throughly enjoyed my dining experience at Kingfisher. My partner and I had a reservation here and…read morewas seated promptly after we arrived. The hostess had a note for our anniversary celebration. They also printed a little celebatory note directly on the menu - a great personal touch. Our server was friendly and answered any questions we had. We ordered the beef tartare, smoked aged duck, and the deep fried sand bass. For the drink we ordered the Seasame Soirée. While our food came out pretty slow, I'd say it was worth the wait. We also enjoyed 2 complimentary glasses of bubbly while we waited as part of our anniversary celebration. The restarant itself is decorated beautifully with a jazzy ambiance. The interior had bits of gold and green with a beautiful pearlescent leafy wallpaper. The bar is located in the center and also doubles as a centerpiece to the restuarant. Restrooms are located in the back - there we many private, clean and spacious rooms. Below is a summary of the food we ordered: Beef Tartare (5/5) - Savory, sweet and spicy beef tartare dressed in fish sauce and thai chilis. Paired alongside fresh herbs like cilantro, shiso, argula and radicchio. The sesame rice crackers were light and airy. Smoked Dry Aged Duck (5/5) - Perfectly cooked, sweet and salty aged smoked duck paired with rice noodles, herbs and 2 different sauces. I appreciated the many ways you can wrap and enjoy the duck. I do wish the slices of duck were either smaller or thinner - it's hard to eat in one bite. Whole Fried Sand Bass (4/5) - I'll always order a whole firied fish wherever I go and this was no expection. I loved the sweet & sour ginger sauce. The fish was a bit over-fried in my personal opinion, but the inside is still very soft and tender. Sweet & Sour Rice Noodles (5/5) - Aboslutely delicious! Slippery and cold rice noodles dressed in fish sauce and other seasonings. It's not overpowering at all and goes great with the Whole Fried fish as well. Seasame Soiree Cocktail (5/5) - A very unique drink made with gin, ginger, coconut, seasame seeds and more. It was very fragrant in the best way. The flavor really develops after the first sip. I love how nutty and decadent yet light this drink is. Overall, I had a great experience here and this is one of the top restaurants I've had the pleasure of enjoying in SD. Highly reccomend especially if you like Vietnamese food / fish-sauce forward dishes. (At least for the dishes I ordered)

Really delicious drinks and food in a beautiful setting…read more We were seated basically immediately upon arrival which was nice. Our waitress was very friendly and gave us a good rundown of her favorites. To order, we ended up going with the beef tartare, the artichokes, and the baguette. The baguette was fresh, warm and delicious. The beef tartare was a standout and had a yummy amount of spice. The artichokes were pretty good but aren't a must get. A point was lost here for the time between receiving those starters and our mains (the scallops and half chicken). They were both delicious, but the gap in time was so large that we had to take most of those two to go to meet our next reservation. Had they came out about 20 mins sooner, we would have had more time to enjoy. Recommend nonetheless though! The cocktails were great as well.

A little outdoor seating, a bar top area, and a comfortable indoor area that is very inviting, were a surprise as I approached the location. The food is elegant, is presented amazing, and tastes great. I started with the Sweet Corn and Piñon Soup. I see why it was voted best soup for two years in a row. The thinly sliced corn bread adds an amazing texture in those bites. I had the Apricot salad (sorry I did not note the name and the menu was updated so it is not in any of the pictures) was fresh, crisp, and refreshing. I finished the evening with a Vanilla Bean Panna Cotta with sugared dark cherry was very pleasing. I almost forgot the focaccia bread.. made daily, served warm and soft. A must have. The server had a couple of hiccups with an incorrect food order and totally separate billing issue (which by their reaction I would assume was an off night) but other food delivery staff and bussing staff were timely and professional. I would recommend reservations. I was able to secure a seat (due to showing for dinner around 4 pm or so), but the restaurant filled up nicely and hosted about 4 anniversary's and 1 birthday in my time there. Dress attire seemed casual but there is definitely a more elevated clientele so I would recommend a thoughtful outfit for the experience.
