I have purchased a lot of power equipment over the years, from many different dealers. I needed to get another line trimmer to replace my 20 year old Echo, and tried Crowley's for the first time. The owner, Shawn, waited on me. He went over the different models and features, spending quite a bit of time with me. I bought a more powerful Echo trimmer, despite the extra weight. It is a superb machine. When I had a problem with (misusing) the trimmer head, he repaired it on the spot, at no charge. I cannot recommend this guy and his business too highly! Service is horrible. Called in March to have the snowblower I bought from them serviced. it needs new belts. To date they never came to pick up the snowblower. Told I have to wait until in Norwood. Do not buy from them if you don't live in Norfolk you won't be serviced. read more

I had my snowblower brought in for a tune up. When it was returned, the auger didn't turn. Crowley's came and picked up the snowblower again and charged me to remove a loose nut they left in the machine during the tune up. Three days after the snowblower was supposed to be returned I called and was told the engine wouldn't start. Having heard nothing for 2 weeks I called again and was told the engine was broken beyond repair. I don't blame Crowley's for the broken engine, but it worked when I brought it in and now I'm out $500 and a snowblower. I was charged $500 for a service that couldn't be performed. read more

I brought my Echo blower in for maintenance which was still under warranty. After two weeks of no response I emailed their service department with no response. After three weeks I called, no one answered and there was no way to leave a message. On the fourth week I called again, same response. After going in to physically check the status I was told the blower was bad, and the repairs where not covered by warranty. So after a month they made no effort to inform me the status. They had no plans for ever servicing the equipment, or informing me of that. This company is extremely unprofessional and I expect they lose a lot of business to their competitor across the street. I repaired the equipment myself, I was willing to pay for the service I just didn't want the hassle. I even told them I would pay for maintenance not covered by warranty. This place sucks! My lawn tractor stopped working suddenly knew had to be a safety switch or something. Presented symptoms to owner via email. Said could possibly be a compression issue not worth fixing. Didn't have the same feeling . Asked them to take it and check. Had it about a week , had to check in with them to find out what was going on , told me it was a Loose connecting rod and not worth fixing. Just pay half the transport fee ( basically so he keeps the machine) and 40 to check it out. Knowing a loose rod wouldn't make it stop running told him to bring it back. An extra 35 , 4 days later got it back. Got some advice in the mean time about a small safety spring in the seat switch. Removed it BAM thing starts right up and runs PERFECTLY! Total scam. I bought several power equipment from this store. The string trimmer stopped running after less than 10 times of use. The guy in the store claimed it s gas related. He "tuned up" both of my string trimmers . The old one works fine but the newer one stalls and dies. Brought it back to him and he claimed it has bad gas. He couldn't answer why the other trimmer and blower run with no issues using the same gas mixed with oil (less than 2 weeks old). Every time I go there he wants me to keep spending money and would not consider looking to see if the item is defective from the manufacturer. Plus, shouldn't labor come with a warranty too? What good is it for me if I pay for something then it doesn't work? What a shame to do business with these type of people.I wish I could give him 0 star. I don't not recommend going to this guy. And no wonder why they re going out of business. read more

This rating has one star, because I can't give less on this system. I scheduled a pickup for an 8 yr old John Deere lawn tractor to be picked up for a tune up and to have the fan belts tightened the week of Thanksgiving 2018. I could have done this myself, but didn't want to lie under a tractor in the winter. The tractor has never had any trouble at all, starts first time, never needed oil or air in the tires (Thank you, John Deere). I just thought it would be easier to have routine maintenance done by a pro. I was wrong. I scheduled the pickup online in 3rd week of November, and it was confirmed. A week later, I had to inquire why it wasn't picked up. It was finally picked up after I asked, then I heard nothing. In February 2019, I inquired about the status.Two days later I received a response telling me I needed the deck needed to be rebuilt, both blade spindle assembly's, 2 idler pulleys, belt and blades, a new traction drive belt and inner tubes for the front tires, also the engine needs to have the valves adjusted. $722.21. Okay, minus pickup & delivery ($65.00 and fair) = $657.21. Basically half the cost of the mower when it was new. I said I couldn't authorize that price. This mower worked fine when I sent it in, I just wanted routine maintenance. But something picked at me - tubes for front tires that had never once went flat in eight years? I asked if they could just do the tune up I had requested. This was still in February. I got no response. When I asked (again) in April, I was told in response to my refusal "It doesn't make sense to do a tune up if the other repairs are declined. The only way for the machine to function properly is to do the repairs that were quoted. I wouldn't want you to spend $350 on the tune up and have the deck not function. The diagnosis is $40" So I had them return the mower ($40 diagnostic, $65 pickup/delivery = $105.00), which came back with two flat front tires (again, never flat before). Oddly, the mower deck they supposedly diagnosed still had about two inches of grass on it from last season (okay, so I didn't clean it off, but they didn't either, so how did they diagnose?), and I refilled the front tires, which haven't last any PSI since and never had before. The mower stared first turn of the key - as always - so I am back where I was before giving them $105.00 for nothing. My front tires weren't flat before. Ever. If my mower deck is screwed up, I would think you need to actually look at it. It was a total waste of time and money to do business here. If I ever need this service again, I will do it somewhere more responsive, less ambiguous, and more trustworthy. read more

Bought an echo back pack EBZ8510 from crowleys and it broke after the first week. I brought it back and they fixed it under warranty after I was without for over three weeks with zero communication. This company didn't respond to my phone calls or emails. I found this company very difficult to work with. When I received the blower back it worked fine for a little over a week before it broke again, the screws they installed had striped out of the plastic.I brought it back and they refused to repair it and laughed at me. I brought it to F&F power equipment and they repaired it perfectly in under a day all under warranty. I also found out that F&F power sells this back pack blower for $540 when crowleys price gouged me and sold it for over $600... AVOID CROWLEYS AT ALL COSTS... All of there tenants have left because they are a nightmare to deal with. If you are looking for fair, honest small engine sales and service take the ride to F&F Power Equipment in canton, by far the best! read more

I purchased a Cub Cadet snowblower from Crowley's 5 years ago in part because they had a sale price lower than what I would pay at the big stores. They delivered it to me fully assembled and with enough gas to show me how to use it (my first snowblower, always shoveled before). When they left I had a working knowledge of how to use it and how to keep it up. There was no mess to clean up because they did all the work The snowblower has done very well, and I finally just took it back in for service. They delivered it back in just over a week to my house right when they said it would arrive. It's now in excellent working order, and the price was not all that expensive. I do recommend Crowley's to anyone looking for power equipment in the area. They made the whole process simple and painless. read more

If I could give zero stars for service I would. They were real nice when they sold me the Cub Cadet a year ago, but trust me they have no understanding of customer service. When I brought my mower back here for an uneven cut they charged me $44.00. When I asked "what did you do to level the cut"...they said "we put air in the tires". I said .."what...$44 for air in the tires"? He snaps at me .... "who's going to do it then"!!! In case you are reading this Mr Crowley, (which I doubt you care) repeat business and customer satisfaction comes from doing the right thing. Here's how you struck out! 1. When I initially told you my problem and booked the appointment you could have asked - did you check your tires for even air? Strike 1 you didn't. Second when you found the problem you could have made a call to me - are you sure you want us to put air in the tires for you it will cost labor? Strike 2. You could have provided this 5 minute service as complementary and got me as a customer for life. Strike 3 you are out. Now I tell everyone I know about your true colors. read more

Not an honest interaction. I dropped off my damaged mower in June. I was told turn around time would be 3 weeks. After 4 weeks no call from Crowleys so I stopped by to inquire about my machine. When I asked some papers were shuffled around and was told I would be called as soon as they had info. I called later that same day and was told they would find out and let me later that day. No call back at all on status of machine. The next day I show up in the morning and told that they meant to call yesterday but forgot because they are so busy. My machine is a total loss. I was not surprised I thought that may be the case. Then I was asked if I wanted to have them dispose of the machine. I said no I would take the machine and take care it myself. The look of disappointed told me the machine still had value that they wanted. My small engine repair place has retired and was looking for someone new. I purchased a Cub Cadet riding lawn mower from Crowleys 2 years ago. Last month we brought it to have it serviced and after almost 3 weeks we had to call to check on it, they told us the engine was junk so we brought it to a small engine repair man and he cleaned out a mouse nest from the heat shroud and repaired a coil wire , the engine was not junk the machine runs fine. They also took the battery saying it was junk. (We always kept it on a trickle charger, so I doubt it was bad. ) I would have expected a reputable dealer to properly diagnose the issue and take the time to correct the issue. They did however give us a new battery in the end. We will go elsewhere from here on. read more

I called yesterday for a 3x30" Cub Cadet snow blower and the guy was great on the phone - got all my questions answered and seemed extremely familiar with the product. Then at 9:30 this morning it was delivered (on time) to my driveway fully assembled. I got a full rundown on how it works and how to maintain it. There was even gas inside. Especially if you are in a business that uses power equipment they are good to try, stop in and see what they can do for you. This place has the type of customer service you would expect from a small family owned business....EXCELLENT! The staff is very knowledgeable of the products they sell and are extremely honest. A few years ago I went in to by a snowblower. I was actually talked out of the one I was interested in for the next model down. You would of thought that would never happen. You would expect an up sell if anything. I decided to go with the one that was recommended and never second guessed. I have been extremely happy with it. This spring I decided to go back looking for a new lawnmower. Again nothing but complete honesty from the staff. I went with the mower that was recommended to me and again extremely satisfied after using it for the first time! I have sent several of my family members there and all have had nothing negative at all to say about the knowledge and outstanding customer service.
