French Toast Press w/ added ham

We came to breakfast for our family. Such a nice little area! So cozy! The lady at the front was really nice.

We enjoyed our experience here. The coffees were fresh and nutty in flavor. The scone was delicious: firm on the outside, soft in the middle... cranberry white chocolate... mmm. The egg and ham croissant was light and flakey. The ham wasn't too salty and cooked perfectly. The cheddar bacon melt was tasty: panini style rye with generous egg, cheddar and bacon. We will return.

I just moved to Cameron (24hrs ago) & found this cute coffee shop just up the road! I love a coffee shop with a cafe, which this one has. I did not try any food, but I did enjoy a lemon cranberry muffin. The americano was perfect, & the atmosphere is super cool. I look forward to coming back!

This is a really nice space. In terms of coffee shops, it's the best one in Vass. I ordered three sandwiches and was really disappointed with two breakfast sandwiches that looked like this-- (picture attached) and mildly disappointed with the other. Both were croissant sandwiches. The attendant asked if I wanted the sandwiches grilled (or "pressed", I forgot the exact term she used) or heated. I asked which was better or which she recommended and she said the former so I went with the employee recommendation. I have a panini press at home so I know how great sandwiches can turn out. Unfortunately, the sandwiches were left in for way too long and there was a char on them that was unpalatable. Unfortunately, the sandwiches were in a bag and I took them to go so I didn't see how badly burned and unpalatable these were until it was too late. The other sandwich contained egg. It contained very little bacon and the egg was not evenly presented across the sandwich. Additionally, the egg was discolored (greenish/Black) so I am unsure if it was due to being cooked and reheated. That sandwich was also not good but not as bad as the other two. Several weeks prior to this, I ordered a turkey and pesto sandwich which was fine. Additionally, I ordered a kids' cheese sandwich which my daughter seemed to enjoy. I would probably steer to the lunch items if possible. I had bad luck with all three breakfast sandwiches ordered. I'd also specify in the kindest way possible to not burn the bread. I hate to sound like Gordon Ramsay but I just hope the organization works on refining the breakfast offerings!

Also want to shout out the cashier for being patient while I decided and for the great conversation. The whole staff behind the counter was smiling and it just made the place feel really welcoming. This thing is an absolute flavor bomb. Stopped into Roast Sandwich Market in Moore County and…read moreordered the General Tso Chicken on gluten-free bread and... wow. First bite I got the hit of fresh cilantro and crunch from the peanuts, then straight into that crispy chicken--perfectly fried on the outside and still juicy inside. The sauce is sweet, tangy, a little sticky, and so good it should probably come with a warning label. The gluten-free bread held up like a champ under all that goodness, which is a small miracle considering how loaded this thing is. Fair warning: you're going to need extra napkins. It's messy, it's drippy, and it is 100% worth every saucy fingerprint. Service did take a hot minute, but we landed right at noon on a Saturday, so the place was slammed. Even with the wait, I'd order this sandwich again in a heartbeat. If you're anywhere near Moore County, do yourself a favor and get the General Tso Chicken at Roast. Your taste buds will thank you--your shirt might not, but that's what napkins are for.

When I first visited Southern Pines years ago, my mom took me here. I was a little bit skeptical,…read moreI'm not going to lie. It's right next to a gas station and the name...well...let's just say I had questions. Usually it's the places that are a hole in the wall and dives that are the best, though. Let me just say...after I ordered my sandwich and saw that it came with pickles, I was already a happy camper before I tried the sandwich. That was probably around four years ago. Then I took a bite...and it was unlike any sandwich I'd ever had before. It did get a little messy, but what's good food without it being a little messy? Honestly, I'm kind of a mess so it probably had something to do with that. Four years later - nothing had changed. I love going there to get a sandwich when I'm in the area. I just wish they were open a little later. My top three picks are the Birdie, Greek, and Real Italian. You can't go wrong with any of them. I've also tried the Wally, Sand, Pitching, Flip, Original, and New Yorker (sometimes a family member will let me try some of their sandwich...and vice versa). All great. There is just something about my top three though. I love that they are made fresh to order, that you can customize them, that they have an option for gluten free bread, and unsweetened or sweet tea (their unsweetened tea is delicious). I usually get an extra pickle when I remember. They have decent selections for sides as well. Nothing like a good sandwich from Wedgies and a cool drink in the summer! I do wish for more drink and side options...but that's me being super nit-picky. Get yourself a sandwich from Wedgies! You won't be sorry. Sometimes, calling ahead or placing an order ahead is the best way to go because it's usually very busy. Give a nice smile to all the kind people there as well. They do work hard!

Yes, the bread is quite peculiar but it's delicious, and the stuff between the "slices" is equally good as well as plentiful. I went with the Real Italian and found it full of flavor. Now I'll need to make a few return trips and try some of the other selections.

I always order the fluffy on GF with no cheese, and he always orders the Italian on GF with no cheese. There is cross contamination, so if you are celiac, you can ask them to change gloves, use a clean knife, and keep your sandwich away from the others. We have almost never received the correct order without cheese the first time, but they don't make a fuss when asked to remake the sandwiches, and they are very apologetic. These sandwiches are generous with the meat and other fillings, and the pizza-crust-as-bread works so well. We also get their delicious potato salad with our sandwiches. The seating area is not huge, maybe ten tables, but we've never had to wait for one, and we often take our order to go. The restaurant is clean, and parking is fairly convenient. Even with the issue of having to remake sandwiches, I still rate Blake's a solid five star. It's consistently delicious, and I like supporting a small business in my home community.
