I'm going to try to not let my overall dissatisfaction ruin the review. I wanted to like this place. I had visions in my mind of a cozy, French-style interior with soft jazzy music and nice coffee aromas. It was lacking. The shrill of kids playing, the rather featureless inside. No music. The coffee itself didn't do much for me, I could get better at Starbucks. So to say something positive, we didn't have a problem finding a place to sit on a Saturday at noon. It is a great location in So Pines so I think they can be better. I guess if you have kids it is a good place for them. I can't think of anything more positive so I eliminated one of my negative opinions. Giving it a 3/5 seems fair. YMMV. As an aside, I wish we could get a Dutch Bros coffee somewhere here.....

Adorable coffee cafe located near Southern Prime. They serve a variety of drinks and bites cold and hot. Both sweet and savory made fresh daily. There's also a grab and go fridge with their items.

Best latte in the county (I think I've tried them all, if local coffee shopping can be a hobby) Conveniently located in the quaint shopping district of Downtown Southern Pines, Maisonette keeps an artfully curated seasonal menu of coffee, tea and comfort! What sets them above the rest are the locally made syrups, melt in your mouth pastries and the warmest vibe. Attention to detail is obvious in the food, drink, decor, and importantly as a mom, kid friendliness! You'll find juice boxes snacks and a play barista area for the littles. So please, do yourself a favor, forgo the drive through line at Star****s and visit this gold mine of a cafe. You won't regret it!

Love from this coffee lover! We are new to the area but gravitated almost immediately to the chill vibe of Maisonette. And - the coffee is amazing. My test for all coffee spots is the cappuccino. Can they do it all? Smooth, fully bloomed coffee taste YES. Milk steamed to the perfect sip-right-now temp YES Perfectly baked butter cookie (included) with just a hint of salt YES. Baristas are as nice as can be, too. Best coffee experience in the area. Thank you!

The only miss was the matcha, which could be improved by better mixing before adding it to cold milk.

Staff was knowledgeable about the menu, and very patient because I know we took longer than we should have to make decisions. Restaurant offers what appeared to be scone dough for purchase, as well as other numerous items, such as local honey, and some apparel. I got the rise and pine, a traditional scone with jam and butter, and a vanilla latte. I asked about the jams they offered. Unfortunately, the one I ordered was not available so I got strawberry jam. I gotta say I was a little bit letdown because I assumed this was freshly made jam and not prepackaged store-bought. Either way it tasted fine. The downside to cold store-bought jam is it was impossible to spread on the scone. The scone was so brital that it literally fell apart in my hand. It almost had the consistency of a day old homemade biscuit. There was no salvaging this scone to eat properly I had to eat it in pieces. That aside it did have good flavor. I wonder what would it have tasted like if I could've actually put the jam and butter on it. Latte was good as well as the rise and pine breakfast scone. Seating was a bit different. Meaning that you felt like you were right on top of one another. Not very roomie. The most comfortable seat I must say is the one near the restroom which is a leather loveseat and a chair. I paid $23.73, which included a tip. In my opinion for what I got, this was too much, especially since the scone fell apart in my hand.

I purchased the scone at Swank cafe. I wish I had tasted it right away rather than waiting until I got home. It was so good, I would have purchased more. Looking forward to returning!
