I stopped in for some whole beans. I opted for the "Dark & Happy Place" beans. What an enormous difference from beans I was ordering through the mail. I was buying beans online from a place a few hours a way. I don't buy from stores because they are never fresh. The mail order ones were fine. But I wanted to support local business and hopefully find fresher beans. These were fresh and tasted better. At home and work, I brew my coffee with a Clever Dripper pour over device that permits the coffee to steep before the pour. I use a Peugeot mill grinder at home and a Timemore C60 at work. Both are at the fine setting. After grinding the beans from Swank, I dropped them in the dripper. When the hot water hit the grinds, a large bloom lasted for about a minute. These beans were clearly freshly roasted. The taste was also noticeably much better. There were flavors, as opposed to the general coffee-ish taste I was getting from (overpriced) mail order beans. I'm going to be a regular. read more

Wow! We went in for coffee thinking we were just going to another coffee shop. We were so pleasantly surprised. The seating areas inside are so comfortable and cute! If you are by yourself, they even offer very comfy chairs in little nooks so you can sip your beverage and relax. The staff is very friendly. There is local art for purchase throughout the cafe. I really love swank and have been going forever, but some of the new staff has taken some of that joy away. The girl with the short blondish hair seems so miserable to be there I always try to converse with her, but it's not reciprocated not even a smile. Such a cozy place with decent Wi-Fi, great art & jewelry for sale/viewing, and Incredibly tasty, inventive coffee drinks. Coffee quality is key - and they get it right. They kick the butt out of Starbucks! My favorite is the dark chocolate, salty caramel, and espresso large specialty coffee substituted with coconut milk - HEAVENLY DESSERT IN A CUP. Price / quality ratio was outstanding to me ( mind you, I was visiting from Washington DC), but the prices are still cheaper than Starbucks and you get way more for your money. All in all, excellent value - make sure you check in on Yelp as, at the time of writing, they had a great special of buy a large drink and get a small one free! Highly recommended. read more

I really want to like and support this place. However my last two trips have left much to be desired. Second to last time got a hot mocha and did not taste like much other than warm milk..blech! This last time I came in due to getting one of their "we haven't seen you in a while here's $2 off texts." Great! Who doesn't love to save $?! Did it up with a mocha frappe with whip...was 12oz instead of 16 for medium and no whip! (see photo even the cup said whip!) I know they were a bit busy but you have to take care of each customer and not hurry and fulfill the order 100%. Love coming by this welcoming and eclectic shop, especially with the pup. He knows exactly where he wants to go when we hit the town for a walk, and Swank is usually the first stop. Wasn't sure what to expect when I walked through these doors, always had the predilection to think it was a store for women's clothing, but it blipped on my yelp radar as a coffee shop and moseyed on in. Walking inside encouraged a slight wave of excitable confusion, the type most people experience the first time they walk on the Las Vegas Strip(at a much lesser degree of course), which in turn drew a where-the-eff-am-I look on my face. In my befuddled state, I did what most people do in that situation, and bee-lined to what was familiar, the coffee bar.
