Avoid! Cost of moving kept getting jacked up, despite accurately listing items to be moved, number of boxes including size. Movers at both origin and destination were 3rd party. At origination, movers were decent. At destination, movers didn't speak English at all, left a kitchen table not fully assembled (gave me 2 packages of the hardware), tv and futon/sofa were missing. Multiple items were brought in and opened, only for me to tell them that they weren't my items. Meanwhile, I watched as other customers items were basically being damaged while they searched for my tv and sofa. I documented them as missing, they left. Approximately 7 hours!!! later (evening) they came back and had found the missing items. Then asked repeatedly for a tip (used translation app for this). Was (of course) told that they should not have asked for a tip, and that they figured I would NOT be giving them a good review. Duh. read more

I ordered some MCM furniture from Seattle and needed some movers to help me out with the shipping and some partial assembly. They were able to fulfill all my needs with getting it to me safely with no damages, on schedule as we discussed as well as assembly and it was all A1 service! Affordable shipping costs and can also add some insurance in case of anything happened to my furniture because mid-century modern furniture is not cheap lol. I have some family members in Seattle looking to ship their antique furniture to the OC. We wanted to look for a reliable company bc the furniture were heirlooms that needed extra care when migrating. A friend had highly recommended this company and after reaching out to them; they were able to quote us a great deal. The contract they had you fill out is fair and their delivery services was outstanding. Not only was the furniture delivered on time, it was packaged and wrapped up very securely and professionally. If I could give 0 I would! This company is not a true moving company it is a broker company. They charge you to charge other people money to move your items. They took over 3 weeks to deliver items from washington down to Texas. I was lied to and led on from start to finish. They told me the crew that came to pick up my items were from their company and would have on Cross Country Movers shirts! The crew that camp told me they didn't work for them and that they were hired by them just to do pick up! They left all of our pots and pans in the kitchen along with all the silverware. This was supposed to be a whole home move! They left clothes as well as rugs and our glass kitchen items! They guys that dropped off my items didn't work for the company either! This entire business is a scam! I have items missing as well! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I contacted the owner to get clarification about the company and after answering one question she stopped responding once I told her I knew they lied to me. By then my items were already gone! From the very first day we had gotten into contact with this company we were sure that we were going to get a quality service for our bucks. They greeted us with hospitality and were more than happy to answer any questions we had. They informed us about insurance policies, moving bundles and if necessary, storage units where you could temporarily keep your belongings. The prices were very affordable compared to competitors. Within the first week we had managed to get more than half of the move completed. We had a high rise office building that we needed to get moved out and renovated prior to moving everything back in. These guys arrived on time every morning and worked their hardest to help us meet our deadline. Moving is no easy feat, it took us from sunrise to sunset until we even managed to clean out an entire room because of the narrow walkways and crowded spaces inside the rooms. But these guys were so efficient and worked together perfectly as a team, communicating and assisting each other when the furniture is impossible to carry alone. We really appreciated their cooperation and willingness to help us make our transition much easier. Would definitely recommend. read more

I read horror story beyond horror story of others making long-distance moves, and was very selective in choosing a company to help me move from Bellevue, WA to San Diego, CA. From start-to-finish this company kept their word on everything promised. I contacted these guys for a cross country move based on all the great reviews they had. Was told over the phone my one bedroom cross country move should be $3,000-3,500 with another $500-600 if I wanted full packing service. Had a guy come out for an estimate, he was flexible with his scheduling but wound up being pretty late and his tablet didn't work. I gave him a notebook to do the estimate and got the numbers... $6700+. What happened to $4,100 on the high end of the ballpark. I don't see how I can own that much more than what is expected in a one bedroom apartment, there is open space in every room... my furniture isn't stacked on top of itself. It all seemed very bait and switch to me so I decided to go elsewhere. Edited to say now that I have actually moved was able to get the move done for a little over $3,000 by another company. They also got my stuff moved in ~10 days rather than the 21 days Cross Country quoted me for. Other company offered the same free 30 days of storage that Cross Country does. read more

I contacted 3 different movers to transport a vehicle from Denver to Seattle and Cross Country was the only one who provided a student discount since the vehicle belonged to my daughter. Unlike the previous mover I used (see my review from last year), CC was very professional with the entire process and the car arrived damage-free! The transport driver even showed up with professional paperwork upon pickup to document any existing scratches or dents on the car and gave me a carbon copy that also included his contact information. That didn't happen from the other mover I used last year. I would definitely use CC again should I need another auto transport service! read more

Cross Country came to the rescue at very short notice for a literal cross-country move from Seattle to Austin, when our originally scheduled mover (the Evil Moving Company Who Shall Not Be Named) failed to show up. We had gotten a quote from Cross Country at the same time we got a quote from the EMCWSNBN, and Cross Country was significantly higher. Well, I guess you get what you pay for -- the original moving company was crap, and Cross Country did a great job. They kept us informed throughout the process, arrived on time, and had super-courteous guys doing the packing and loading. They picked up our vehicle at the scheduled time as well. On the receiving end in Austin, the goods and the vehicle were delivered within the promised time frame, once again with a crew that acted in a very professional manner. We had several very expensive items that were carefully crated and arrived in perfect condition. The only complaint we had was that the movers on the Seattle end put a scratch in the bedroom floor, but Cross Country did not balk at paying for the repair. read more
