Went for Sunday Brunch at 11:30. This was our experience; table of 5 including 3 little kids. 1. Got sat quickly because we had reservations. They were nice. 2. Sat down with menus but were told they were out of French toast and pancakes. I get that available ingredients fluctuate - maybe you're out of the bread for French toast - but pancakes?! 3 hrs into Sunday brunch service? That was literally 2/3 of the 3 item kids menu, gone. But it also applied to the adult menu. We had to order our son something from the adult menu - so crisis averted for $3 extra dollars. 3. We managed to order. Got blueberry cornbread and donuts to start. Both were so delicious. We recommend it! 4. Then it took like 45 minutes to get our entrees. I'm not sure why it took so long but the kids got antsy and so did the adults. I was watching other tables who arrived later get their food too. Sad. So if you're seeking a regular pacing, just know this day was a few notches slower. So plan accordingly. To be brutally honest, it was enough to say we can't take the kids back here after church/Mass on Sundays because we can't risk the pacing to be this slow, not with young kiddos. 5. The biscuits and gravy were so good. Barely had room after the starters tho. The Eggs Benedict tho had some dry burnt Canadian bacon and it wasn't pleasant. I think there was some kind of spice in the hollandaise too. Hash browns were good tho (says my wife). Oh and lastly the fruit which came with my son's food seemed like it was sitting cut in the fridge for a few days. It was obviously not fresh - it had absorbed a lot of whatever juices it was kept in and was a bit saturated (if any of that makes sense). Normally I'd not care but its appearance stood out and it caught my attention quickly (as I wrestled with whether I should let my baby eat it). 6. I liked my biscuits and gravy but she didn't like her benny, so I, as a loving husband, had her try mine - and after her approval of its taste, switched my plate with hers. My only comment is I wish she did like hers and that I didn't have to. 7. Our waitress was nice and attentive. I would say a bit too involved sometimes. Just at times picking small trash from the table in mid of our conversation. Like we had to stop talking for that stuff. Not dinging them for this but just kinda read the table a bit better. We could live with the mess if we are focused on talking. Anyway, this place has a lot going for it from a decor and ambiance standpoint. I'd say if they can get the service right, the pacing and maybe the food, it'd live up to the Crosby kitchens in the city which we've been to, or any other higher class restaurant (like a Hampton Social). It's just missing a few things, so maybe when the experience is improved next time we'll update the stars on this review. read more

First, the service was outstanding! Sat at the bar and Horatio was friendly and informative. Drinks were top of the line! Took a while to decide what to eat, but our choices were spot on! The potato bacon croquettes were delicious. My wife had the French Dip. With their epic coleslaw. My pork chop was cooked perfectly and the sides were top notch. Will be returning soon and often. If you want excellent service ... don't sit at the bar. The bartenders prioritize making drinks for the tables and forget about the patrons at the bar. Food that we had...full slab of ribs and mac and cheese were very good. I wasn't to hungry and had the mac and cheese, the best I ever had. Husband had the ribs and they fell off the bone, fries were seasoned and very good. Service was excellent as well. The prices are high, it won't be a regular place but it will be a place to consider for ribs. read more

I love this place and I'm so happy they are now in the area. I've been there 2 times now for lunch and both times the place was hopping! I got a salad both times and thought they were delicious. What a cool new spot in Niles. The brunch was so good! We ordered a good mix of savory and sweet. Definitely start with donut holes or the monkey bread. The soup of the day was the chili which was also delicious. Consistent American kitchen with great flavors. Super clean bathroom. Everything is much to be desired. We enjoyed the cornbread and that's about it. We also ordered the rotisserie chicken (which was ok), pasta with vodka sauce (also ok), seared ahi tuna salad (made from frozen tuna and unripe mangoes), mac and cheese and cheeseburger. The server was not very attentive and we had to constantly wave him down for service. He brought out desserts before clearing the dirty dishes. Even delicate things like lobster or tuna...ludicrous. They try to say nothing spicy & call it something else! Were told there are no peppers in Sriracha!!? Would not believe Sriracha IS a red Jalapeno. They mixed it with tiny bits of lobster on top of deviled eggs. Hot so no way to tell if it was lobster or a raw white fish. Scraped off & ate eggs. Waste of money. They cleverly come with only 3 so we cut in half & each had a taste. The meats very salty all way through as tenderizer marinade. Fish not filet but narrow oblong cut, Again both with spicy add-ons & spicy orange rice touching it underneath instead of on side. Artichoke completely burnt black destroying delicate taste & heart & leaf ends were not steamed first so they were hard as a rock, another waste. The cornbread was authentic awesome very old fashioned homemade in skillet with real corn. Garlic mashed very salty. Why can't we all salt our own. The key lime pie was like most places too sweet but not worst. Red Lobster has best sour one tastes like real, expensive Key Limes, used to buy whole pies. Drinks small & expensive, went elsewhere after to watch a game where they don't charge for ice. Have to say "no ice please". Would suggest hot stuff be optional for those wanting to taste foods. Or warn people with "Mexican" after name or fire GIF. Various up charges are not cute either. We paid cash. Tell waiters not to interrupt if people talking we'll signal. Service was great. The food was not. The tempura rock shrimp was pretty bland and very oily. We asked for dressing to add some flavor to it. The Chicken Dip sandwich had some flavor due to the dip, but without it, it was very bland. The prime rib was also bland and chewy. read more

Had the french dip , sandwich was cold, fries were cold and HEAVILY salted and the aujus was also cold. My wife had the pork chop which was also heavily salted but at least warm. The service was good although we weren't there very long. The restaurant is beautiful and about half way through our meal they turned the lights out ! Or so it seemed , I think management has not yet adjusted the automatic dimming settings for the fall season. I would have said something to Management but I am fairly certain there wasn't any there. I would have returned the sandwich but I was very hungry and we had to get in and out with our small child. Our Daughter treated us to dinner last night for my birthday. I ordered their signature dish - broiled chicken. Badly overcooked; it was way too dry. The service was awful. Water and iced tea were not refilled without flagging down our waitress. My birthday desert was a cookie dough a la mode and the ice cream had melted before I could get a spoon. Well as far as the food goes ( your web site menu has no times of when what is being served for example breakfast 10a - 12pm lunch ----- ) so my third experience here was not the best for me. I went thinking 1pm lunch will be served. Nope at 1 pm brunch is being served and dinner starting at around 3 or 4 according to our waitress. I've never been so uncomfortable sitting and watching my family eat their meals as I settled for the garden salad as opposed to the N.Y. Strip steak. Which is what I wanted for lunch. Our visit last Saturday for the first time was in the way positive .We did experience the issue for parking but most restaurant would love to have that problem it mean they are busy . 3 of us had the Prime ribs sandwich witch was very good but the french fry were only warm and broken down in very small pcs .One had 1/2 slab of BBQ ribs , when I look at his plate I could not help noticing how undersize the portion was , he did not said anything about it . Also we had to request for silverware .Even that the evening was not a bad experience we all have no desire to go back . We have issue with the menu concept and the price is a bit to high for what you get including the wine . the 3% on your bill should not come automatically .I have worked a lot off my life in that business so I have some knowledge . My wife and I have been here at least 10 times since they opened on Memorial Day weekend. We LOVE this place. Great food, service and atmosphere. The outdoor bar area is a big hit with a great vibe. Service was not good. Hostess told us to wait in the bar and she forgot about us.! Until we asked if our table was ready, and she quickly sat us down. I ordered a half of chicken with mash potatoes. And my wife ordered a salad in about 5 minutes our food came, and my Chicken was cold and so was the mashed potatoes. So I sent it back. My wife salad was very small with some cold chicken on it but she was starving and ate the salad that was not very tasty. When we left there was at least 5 employees hanging around the hostess stand and not one of them asked how was your dinner or asked if everything was all right. They were too busy chatting away. They did a great job redoing the dining room. We live in the area, but we won't be going back. I'll just spend my money elsewhere. read more

Well, I had heard mixed reviews before I went to Crosby's Kitchen in Niles, but I had to see for myself. The hostess was very welcoming and sat us in a booth as I had requested when I had made the reservation. The space is very big and spacious, and the decor is clean looking and modern. The music was very loud and I found it to be distracting for a normal level conversation but I did not request it to be lowered as it usually does not get turned down. I ordered the grilled vegetable "platter" which the waitress described as full of many vegetables, hummos and bread. I thought I had made it clear that I was not interested in much bread and that I really just wanted vegetables and hummos. My friend ordered the little salad with chicken. Our order came out within 5 minutes of ordering and it seemed fresh and it was tasty. That was very fast! OK My issue is that the "platter" that was named grilled vegetable platter was almost half filled with bread. The small pile of vegetables, which were pretty tasty was about the size of a mandarin orange and the hummos was a decent amount. All of this would be acceptable if this platter of mostly grilled French bread did not cost 22.00! My friends salad looked basic but they said it was tasty. Again, it would have been ok but the tiny salad with the chicken, which the runner had to point to in the salad was more than 20.00! Overall the food was good and the prices would have been acceptable if the portions were a little more generous. How difficult and costly is it to grill another half a pepper and onion? For dessert, my friend and I split the peppermint ice cream with hot fudge. 3 scoops of delicious ice cream with a very good fudge sauce and it was almost more food than my friend AND I received for our dinners combined! I understand that food costs are high, but we really did not order costly proteins or foods. The portions are very skimpy for the price. I will not rush back. read more

Went there today for lunch. First time here. I must say the place looks amazing. The restaurants that were in this same location before, just could never make it. The inside decor is very nice and the outdoor patio is also very nice. I must say though, I was pretty much disappointed with my lunch. I ordered the chicken dip sandwich and it wasn't that good. I requested a gluten free bun and well, the bun fell apart upon me biting into it, meaning it was stale. The chicken had absolutely no flavor and it was very boring. I'm not going to give up on this place just yet though. I definitely will be back to give it at least one more try. Ambience was great, However ,, IThe food portions were small and cold. I had the half slab of ribs and had four Luke warm small ribs. The BBQ. Sauce was bottled and nothing special. I was hungry and disappointed.! The waitress left two napkins on the table which I assumed were hot and moist. Not so, they were just extra napkins. Another disappointment. Fries and Cole slaw accompanied the meat. Still hungry , I ordered Carrot Cake for dessert . It was acceptable. Our waitress was pleasant and efficient. The service was excellent. The ambiance of this restaurant is great for a date night. The service was excellent the hostess greeting at the door were welcome and friendly. We had a 7pm reservation and were seated promptly. Our server was very helpful in describing dishes and suggesting drinks. The prickly pear margaritas are amazing. We started off with appetizers we had the jalapeño cornbread and it was amazing! Our entrees were just as delicious we had the ribs and pork-chop dinner. The chefs kiss was the warm carrot cake for dessert easily the best I've ever had. We were happy to see this restaurant space beautifully remodeled, and excited to try it. It seems Crosby's doesn't know if it wants to be an upscale restaurant or laid back as far as the menu is concerned, but very pricey for portion sizes. No bread offered. No dinner salad included for the price. Large wine list, but they offer very few types of their wines by the glass, so we opted out of ordering any because we didn't want to be forced to buy a whole bottle, or have to order what we don't enjoy. Cornbread was excellent, as was our dessert. Prime rib was tender, but very dry, even with added au jus....seemed microwaved. 1/2 slab of ribs was very small, five ribs on miniature bones with very little meat. Although they talk about accommodating special dietary needs, servers can't do so without chasing down a manager for approval for a substitution that any restaurant would be happy to provide. Mashed instead of fries can't be that expensive a switch for them. Coffee was served at room temperature (10 minutes after our warm dessert was delivered and 1/2 gone) and needed to be replaced. Small menu, appetizers just ok, entrees, the salmon a small cut, overcooked, the half chicken wasn't bad, but served to me cold.
