The octopus was also cooked to perfection. The flavor and temperature was just right. Not too hot and such a great texture. We don't always order desserts but we had to see every course of the menu. We decided to go with a lava cake and it did not disappoint. It had that perfect contrast of hot and cold but it's served with gelato which gives it a nice touch of texture compared to standard ice cream. Chef Jose came out and introduced himself. We came in because we were enticed by a beef tartare that was on their menu in the past. We're hoping he brings it back on a special sometime soon. Ours came with maybe a quarter of the size of that ice cream scoop, a little teaspoon dollop of whipped cream that you eat in one bite and the raspberry sauce was a tiny smear on bottom for decor but there wasn't enough to actually eat it. The cake itself was moist but lacked flavor. It took a really long time to come out, we thought perhaps they forgot, then forgetting we were celebrating a birthday on top of that was disappointing. Atmosphere - Beautiful space, very well done. The only issue is how close the tables are, you can't pull your chair back without hitting someone, and getting to the bathroom requires asking others to move because of how tight the layout is. Overall, we really enjoyed it and would return. While there were a few dishes we wouldn't order again, and others we would. Would love to try the wild mushroom pizza next time! It's about $5 to get a latte. The Cookie Butter Latte was as great as it sounded. It's made with cinnamon, cookie butter syrup, and espresso. There's only a few pastries. It's about $5 to get a muffin. There were a few vegan choices including the Chocolate Muffin which was a big one. Have to say it's a great place for chilling. I always opted for coffee, and I really loved their specialty flavor this month featuring banana and caramel. The flavors aren't overpowering and aren't overly sweet, so for a coffee lover that actually likes the taste of coffee this is perfect. This review is from someone that actually experienced it. We came on a Saturday night around 7:40 pm. There were only a few occupied tables. Two large groups and one couple. The ambiance was laidback with good music. It was only loud because the two large tables were laughing annoyingly, loud. The young Asian table drank one sip of beer and all of a sudden, their laughter echoed throughout the whole place. I'm Asian myself but I can hold my alcohol. The parking lot is shared since it's in a strip mall. To clarify, we did have to wait 50 mins before we started receiving our food. I believe Jun was the only chef and he made everything from scratch. He finished serving the other tables before he got to our order. FYI, Jun said the prices haven't been updated on the printed menus. I would say 4.5 out of 5 is good. I only took off half a point because the two large tables' laughter were cringy and vexing. We ordered bulgogi tacos, o-deng tahng (fishcake soup), garlic chicken wings, and sweet potato fries. -bulgogi tacos 5 - it says 3 on the menu but you actually get 4. Each taco is packed with the same amount of meat as the others. The chips and the housemade salsa are good too. -o-deng tahng 5 - the fishcake soup is so colorful and the broth has a mildly spicy flavor. This can be shared between 2-3 people. This was super crispy, possibly more crispy than similar options at Bonchon and CM chicken. A small warning for the spicy options, as this is a higher spiciness level than what many people may be used to with fried chicken. The kimchi fried rice has a great mix of egg, kimchi, and seasonings that create a delicious dish even for those who may not particularly care for the flavor profile of kimchi.
