I have been dying to check out Crosby's for a long time now, and I am so happy I finally did, because it did not disappoint at all! I came here on a Wednesday night and my friend and I were seated outside right away. However, if there is a wait, you can join the waitlist on Yelp! The atmosphere is great and the outdoor space is beautiful!! There are many families and young people, a good mix of people. To eat and drink, I got the rose sangria and veggie burger, and my friend got white wine and the wrightwood salad. Both of our meals were amazing and the waiter was very accommodating to food allergies. This place is great and I will definitely be back a lot! read more

Came here for brunch and service was super friendly and attentive!! Sat outside with our dog. Bloody Mary's were delicious. They did not have the chicken biscuits, but I got the chicken sandwich with a biscuit on the side. Would probably try something different if you go. Husband got the beef short rib rigatoni! Highly recommend but be prepared because it was rich. Key lime pie was great, too! read more

Disappointing. All glasses and silverware were dirty and needed to be replaced. Our server was very short and seemed annoyed to take care of us. I had the Maryland crab cakes. Very average and came out lukewarm. Giant portion of mashed potatoes and they were decent until I got to the middle and found them ice cold. Partner got the rotisserie chicken which came out lukewarm as well. The best parts of the meal were the rosé sangria and potato pancakes. Sparkling brut rosé by the glass fell short as it was very flat. Will most likely not be coming back unfortunately. read more

I am definitely a fan of Crosby's Kitchen. My wife and I stopped in for brunch, and we truly enjoyed the experience. The quoted wait was 25 minutes, but we decided to take advantage of a couple of open seats at the bar. I ordered the Benedict of the Day, which happened to be a Huevos Rancheros Benedict. For my side, I subbed for the bacon potato cakes. Delicious! The Huevos Rancheros were quite flavorful. The bacon potato cakes were crispy, cheesy, savory genius! I would order the exact same dish again. The bartender was very friendly and gave us great service. The atmosphere was rustic and relaxed. I would definitely return. read more

This is one of my favorite places to eat in Chicago. I've been going here for so many years. Such a family friendly restaurant with nice staff. Cornbread. Unmatched. So yummy. I definitely recommend. It comes in a skillet and is perfect for four people to split (personally, I could eat a whole one myself) and it comes with a side of honey butter. I had the strip steak salad the other day for the first tine and it was really delicious. A full meal. Highly suggest for anyone in the neighborhood to go there. Also outdoor seating is so nice in the summer. read more

Hands down the best eggs benny I EVERRRR have had. It was pouched eggs over corn bread with the special chili on top. Oh. My. Gosh. Best brunch! Also great location, since this is a popular restaurant, put your name on the list and do some shopping- great boutiques! read more

This is a hit or miss place I think. The food all looks great. We came for a pregame brunch and Bloody. I love the space. The restaurant has a great neighborhood feel to it. The servers and staff were pretty friendly. The Bloody was great. I am not a huge fan of them, but it sounded good and they make them right. I love the bacon slice and the Miller grenade. My chicken hash was not very good. It was edible, but pretty bland. The biscuit was average, but the cornbread with maple butter is a must. I will be honest that I am not sure what my wife ordered, but I remember it was good. It was pretty pricey for the overall product. read more

Truly enjoy my time and dinner every time I go. Inside or out - service is great and the food delicious.

I think about Crosby's buttermilk biscuits after only ever had them two or three times. The first time I tried them, I remember that they came with whipped goat cheese and preserves, but just last night, they didn't have the goat cheese. I thought that had been such an incredible addition to the flavor, but perhaps it's just been that long since I'd been there. The lobster deviled eggs are definitely loaded with lobster meat, which was amazing! There were only 3 pieces in the order, so consider getting additional appetizers if you're starving and looking to take the edge off before your meal. I ordered the flat iron steak. Going into it, I knew not to expect a whole lot, as this is not a steakhouse. I received about what I expected, nothing impressive about it, but was flavorful and cooked medium, just like I'd asked. Clark ordered the sausages and was surprised at how spicy the mustard was, but that also could have been because he really loaded his first bite up with the mustard. I loved the brussel sprouts (vegetable of the day) that I ordered as my side! Some of the leaves had fallen off the sprouts and gotten crisped, which was amazing. The rest of the sprouts were perfectly cooked and tender with just enough flavor to keep it interesting but not overbearing. We loved our meal! The biscuits, though... read more

On a busy Saturday, the hostess was very accomodating and found us an outdoor table. Food was excellent and fast. Perfect location before our Mercury Theater event. I especially liked the salad selections. Mailee, stopped by to check on our table. She was professional, knowledgeable and attentive to details. This personal touch is why Crosby Kitchen continues to excel. read more

Great friendly warm place. We love it here. Corn bread rocks and the entire rotisserie selection rocks. Had prime rib special a bit thin cut for $32. Great waitress. When I got my premium $8.00 beer it came in a short snifter. I hate ordering a new premium beer paying more and getting less its a beer pour me a glass for $8.00 or at the least Tell Me! Warm cookie dessert was great. read more

Crosby's Kitchen - Yummy corn bread its crusty warm with a wonderful honey butter. - American Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

Saturday brunch. This is a very cute and warm inviting place. Brunch menu is impressive...it has the usual suspects with some fantastic appetizers such as biscuits, lobster deviled eggs (I knowwww, right?), chicken apple sausage, chicken chili, rotisserie chicken, monkey bread, brussel sprouts salad, bacon sriracha hollandaise benedicts, skillet cornbread with butter (emphasis on the butter), and really unique omelettes (such as goat cheese with artichoke and asparagus), chocolate chip cookie skillet (just saying), oatmeal pancakes, and I spotted a really fresh nice sounding veggie burger. We had the skillet cornbread, mimosas (strawberry), bloody mary (amazing with hearty bacon), the fried egg sandwich and the lakeview omelette. All outstanding. I expected more flavor from the omelette but it had a nice variety of meat and cheese. Service was memorable -- very friendly! This stands out and really makes a difference. I go to brunch every Saturday and every Sunday and with so many options for delicious food, it's about the entire experience. I like this company/group of restaurants and Frasca's has been wonderful too. Who wants to be greeted by grouchy staff on a weekend brunch? read more

I want to start off by saying, the whole reason we decided to try Crosby's this evening was due to stopping by this afternoon and talking to a wonderful friendly waitress who told us about the special and said and I quote, we are super kid friendly"! Great! I told her we'd be back later when my husband was off work. She sent us with a kid menu and I was sold! I wish I could say I got to try the food/ but their wonderful special of kids eat free only apples IF you are seated by 6pm and with the 40 min waiting time I was given by the very curt hostess made it clear that wasn't going to happen. Apparently you need to have dinner by 430pm to make that happen. Guess I won't bother to try this place. At least you could have employed a nice seating hostess in the evening to deliver the bad news next time versus someone who isn't happy with her job. She didn't even bother to open the door for us or even give me a fake smile. That might have made me feel better. Guess the waitress was "family friendly" not the hostess. read more

Love this spot for a casual brunch or night out. Recently had brunch with an old friend and were lucky enough to enjoy the patio. This place deserves 4.5 stars - it is fantastic! Went here last night for the second time, but the first for dinner, and I am so glad we did. All the reviews about the noisy kids before 6:30 is true, but it's easy enough to ignore. This is definitely a hipster-foodie destination, and is well worth every penny. The food is accessible (no rocket or sunchoke here) and is done with a very creative flair - I discovered unexpected flavors in everything, and it worked. Get the salmon, get the chicken, but (it's true) you must get the cornbread. It is unlike anything else. Nice wine list, creative food at honest prices... a great place. read more

This is one of the better brunch spots I've been to in the area. Here are some highlights: First the restaurant itself has a cozy feel in a great location. I was lucky enough to sit in a booth near the fireplace which was perfect for the colder day that it was. The staff is very friendly and the service was EXTREMELY fast. For a Saturday around 1pm, we got our food almost immediately after ordering. Now let's get to the food. My friend suggested the bacon Strada Benedict and thank god she did. Probably the best Benedict I've ever had! It was delicious. It also came with a side of potato hash that was also great. They must have sprinkled magic on it because I couldn't get enough!! Overall, I'm really glad I checked this place out for brunch. TIP: We waited about an hour to be seated so just make sure you have plenty of time or live in the area and can chill out at home while waiting for a table. read more

I came here once for dinner with my roommate. We had two servers because one girl was training another girl. They were both really sweet and would trade off on whom came to the table. We couldn't decide what to have, so we split two things. Each of us started off with a glass of prosecco, which obviously was delicious. We split the Chicken Dip Sandwich with fries - the dip came on the side. Not my favorite - the chicken was dry, so it NEEDED the dip. And the dip was super salty. However, the shoestring fries were crisp and delicious. We also split the cheeseburger with a side of roasted veggies. Now, I did love both of these! The burger was juicy and cooked well, and that veggies were sautéed, I believe. I would go back for this! Other things on the menu looked delicious, as well. A bit pricey, but the food and service and quality. read more

Food was meh. Is a glorified dennys. I had the egg sandwich cheese is not melted (not sure if on purpose). Hashbrown was ok but heavy.

I like the burgers here but friends said the chicken was bland which was disappointing as I suggested the location.

Amazing food and quick, efficient service. Friendly staff. Lobster deviled eggs are delicious. Recommend the monkey bread and wrightwood salad. Can't go wrong with anything on the menu! read more

Overall experience: 3 stars. I was excited about eating at Crosby's Kitchen since there are so many great reviews here but I was a bit disappointed. I made reservations and everything worked out smoothly. We were a group of 5 people celebrating Father's Day. It was a gorgeous/very hot day and it was even HOTTER INSIDE the restaurant. I asked the waitress if the AC was on and she said: "it's working to it's full potential" and didn't seem to care that it was SO HOT inside - well, why would she? It only felt like a sauna in there. My husband wanted to cancel the order and go eat somewhere else but it was too late. Food was ok, the highlight of the night was definitely the guacamole (VERY GOOD) that we had for an appetizer. Wrightwood Salad - just ok - I wouldn't order again. Shrimp Salad - good Steak Salad - good Turkey Burger - just ok All said and done, I'd go back and give it another try DURING FALL. read more

We dined here in November during the dining outside only period. Service was excellent, our server and everyone who brought out our food were very friendly and engaging. We had the cornbread, deviled eggs, ribs and chicken/biscuits. Everything was delicious, ribs were tender, the chicken and biscuits was enough to eat for a week. Great food! I was walking around the area and came across this place and said why not!? I ordered the Turkey burger and vegetable of the day. My wife ordered a veggie burger with fries. The vegetable were green beans with a special soy sauce marinade. The burger was very juicy and tasty! The veggie burger was one of the bests she's had in a while. Very great place and the service was perfect. Overall great restaurant, will be back to try a roasted chicken! read more

This place doesn't have a bad item on the menu. I got a chicken sandwich that came with an au jus dipping sauce with a side of bacon potato pancakes was divine. My friends got the Brussels sprouts salad and their eggs Benedict and raves about them for the rest of the day. They also had a blueberry cornbread that we regretted not getting after seeing it go by. They have a great brunch selection and I cannot wait to go back. The service was wonderful and our waiter was so kind. Overall, highly recommend! read more

Not bad. We went on a crowded weekend morning and were seated much quicker than they told us. The food was good, above-average in taste and presentation. But the portions seemed a bit small on both food and beverages. The food arrived in record time, almost too good to be true, leading me to think that the kitchen was maybe preparing some of their popular dishes in advance. The whole operation seemed designed to get us seated, fed, and paid up as fast as possible. It was certainly not a leisurely brunch. At the end of our whirlwind meal, we were out $117 for two adults and two kids, and an hour later we were hungry again. I think the tab was a bit pricey considering the small portions and the fact that we were in and out of there almost as fast as McDonald's. read more

This place is awesome!! Got there on a Saturday around 10am right before a rush hit. We were seated immediately and served within 10 mins of sitting down. It was almost unreal! Even with the speed of the service, nothing was left lacking. Beautiful presentation, delicious and unique food and a friendly server! My two favorite dishes at the table were the southport omelette and the breakfast sandwich. Usually when an omelette says it has goat cheese, I feel a little deprived by the amount they throw in. The southport was almost gushing with goat cheese, which I loved!! The asparagus and artichoke were a perfect compliment to pull together an awesome omelette. The breakfast sandwich was STACKED!! And surprisingly it kept together pretty well. The thick cut bacon and perfectly toasted bread made the sandwich. Ugh so good. This place has got it all. Great food, trendy and rustic atmosphere and the cutest lil patio! For realz check it out. Oh and bring ur pup along, this place welcomes tail waggers. read more

Oh Crosby's. One of the best compliments I can give is that they are consistent with good food and good flavors. I came here once 3 years ago and now that we live nearby we come much more often. We've had plenty of good meals here but after a while you get sick of the same food. All in all, I will continue to come but definitely less often! read more

First time at Crosby Kitchen and my last time. We got seated before our reservations time that was good. But our server Ken had a bad attitude, don't if it was because we were Black women.
