Want to start off by saying the service was great. But that's where the positives end. Literally had the worst eggs I've ever been served, and this is including hospital cafeterias. Didn't think it was possible to screw up eggs, but here I am. Looked more like a melted puddle of rubber. This place is your typical overpriced and overhyped north side brunch. Be prepared to pay at least $20 per person for mediocre food. read more

We went to Crosby's for Sunday brunch and didn't have a reservation. The hostesses were really nice and accommodating. We were seating is the Ella Elli next door (sister restaurant) and the space was gorgeous. We'll definitely go back to Ella Elli for wine and charcuterie! Anyway, the service was really good - attentive, but not too attentive. We had salads, which I get is a weird brunch choice, but they were delicious! These were big, dinner salads with fun stuff on them and tasty dressing - highly recommend. We look forward to going back to Crosby's (and Ella Elli) and making it our neighborhood joint. read more

Amazing place for brunch! Monkey Bread is incredible!

Great place. Went with my 5 year old. She loved her PB&J, grapes and ice cream for $6. I had the Wrightwood salad which was tasty and pretty good sized portion. I'm a big guy and glad I supplemented with soup of the day (it was a bean chili deal--yummy). Kid/family friendly. NFL playoffs were on in the background but not dominating. Daisy Cutter on tap. I'd go back in a minute Waitress Francesca was awesome! Very nice, professional and efficient. read more

I love it here! I always know the wrightwood salad will be delicious and the service is lovely. Such a great weekend date night spot.

Always a nice time here. Cute ambiance and a nice selection. Cocktails are pretty good too, I always get the mule and it is very refreshing yet strong! The turkey burger has been my favorite thing on the menu. It has occasionally been difficult to find a server, but everyone is very friendly. A great regular spot! read more

The attention, the food & the atmosphere of this place was phenomenal ! My best friend & I went to Chicago for a couple of days & we heard from multiple people we needed to go there, and with great reason, we started off with yummy Mimosas & ordered the corn beard as an appetizer, corn beard is freshly baked, warm & literally melts in your mouth. AMAZING! We ordered from the lunch menu items, the glazed salmon was to die for, so delicious, perfectly crispy on top, with beautiful char, over grilled asparagus. My best friend ordered the delicious crab cake sandwich. It's was so tasteful, a mouthful of delight really. Our server was extremely polite & very catering to our needs. Overall we had a fantastic experience at Crosbys & we will definitely be returning! read more

Never tried out because the attitude of the staff at the door is shocking! Refused a table to us because they claimed a 15 minute wait time although no one has shown up from their wait list. Ten minutes into wait time and still no one showed up and no was wrapping up their meal to free up more tables. So the wait time was definitely going to extend. Such a nose in the air attitude you do not see even at fine dining or restaurants of any caliber. You may sit pretty on your reviews but in the restaurant business there is a kinder and more business savvy approach to welcoming new diners you failed to achieve hiring the wrong staff! We walked away to a warm, most welcoming restaurant in the vicinity. read more

We had a pretty crummy experience at Crosby's during restaurant week. We had a small group of five people and were looking forward to the $25 dollar lunch special. When we arrived we received water, unfortunately one of our friends took time to arrive because of the weather. I believe this may be why the server took time before taking our orders. It was about half an hour before our drink order was taken and 45 min total to have our drinks. The decaf was cold so we asked for a fresh batch and when he poured regular he did so very haphazardly spilling coffee. When we asked for items there were dropped at our table in much the same way. We asked for the restaurant week lunch menus, and he said we don't have one. I said I had looked up the menus and there were both lunch and dinner menu options. He repeated no and told us he would come back and get our order. When we asked questions it appeared to be bothersome so we just ordered. The food was good, having each selected something different from the menu. I had the tostadas which were delicious. I was just really disappointed in the service and not being able to order from the lunch specials. Why create a lunch menu if you won't honor it? Also, when I found the lunch menu I called and the person said it was the same menu- yes but not the same prices. Isn't that the point of restaurant week? To be able to try food at places you may have not have had the opportunity to do so before? It was disappointing And felt very unwelcome and out of place. read more

Wrightwood Salad = best salad in chicago, I could eat this every day of my life and be happy. The only time I ever strayed from this was their filet special on a weeknight. I asked for it medium and it came out very rare. The server took it back and cooked it a little longer but it just wasn't very good. The flavor was just eh and it didn't really taste like a quality filet. I will continue to come here and stick to the wrightwood salad and their delicious cocktails. Oh and all of the soups I've had here are fantastic. read more

Always great! We have tried many items on the menu and all have been very good. Sometimes it is a little busy, but the wait is usually not as long as first expected. read more

Great wholesome food at an affordable price. Cozy atmosphere! Love to come here on the weekends for their chili!

Our meal was very good, but sadly the service is to be desired. I am a little baffled that service wouldn't be much better especially with restaurants re-opening after such a tough year dealing with the Covid restrictions. We wanted coffee, desert, a second glass of wine, and our water glasses were empty for the majority of the meal. No one ever came back to the table to check in or ask if we wanted order anything else. Only after we had finished or meal, and been sitting for quite some time, did the bill get dropped off in passing. At that point we were tired of waiting, just paid the bill and left. Too sad... the food was good, but un-attentive service solidifies that we won't be visiting again. There are thousands of other restaurants in Chicago that are waiting to be visited, and hopefully with better service. read more

The only reason I'm giving these people two stars is because their lemonade was really good however I went there two days in a row the first I purchased a picture of sangria because I was driving by and I saw a sign that said $15 pitcher of sangria so it's a must try for me my son wanted lemonade so I got him a lemonade and then I'm told at that point that the sangrias not $15 it's $20 however there's a piece of paper pretty big that says $15 in the window I mentioned it to the gentleman he said yeah the price changed I said well you might want to take the sign down However on my next day trip back up there because I wanted my niece to try the lemonade because the lemonade is awesome I've never had the food so we decided to order food I got the artichoke dip with chips artichoke was wonderful the flavor is great the chips however were stale then I got a biscuit and half a slab of ribs the ribs were pretty good but my food was cold they told me 30 minutes I showed up in 15 or 20 minutes it was ready but yet it was cold the biscuit was hard as a rock so then I asked them for lids for the lemonades because I didn't have anything to carry it in and they didn't have a Lids the guy he would put it in kids cup for me he will split it into four kids cups which should equal the amount of the lemonade he did not he only gave me 2 cups so I don't know what's going on with this location if I see something in the window that makes me pull up I'm expecting what I song if you tell me you're going to give me four kids cups for the lemonade I'm expecting the four kids cup instead I just got two kids cups because they don't have lids Also the same sign is in the window for $15 sangria so if you didn't have a chance to take it down at one point you had a chance to take down the second point paper is not that big take the sign down if the sangrias not $15 read more

This is our second time having Crosby's. We were blown away the first time with portions, flavors, cocktails & customer service in-person. We ordered new menu items today for delivery and have officially made this our favorite local spot. The to-go containers have dividers for sides, very travel-friendly. The fish & chicken are always well seasoned and juicy. The mashed potatoes were very creamy & flavorful, along with the Spinach & Artichoke dip. Very great attention to detail and quality here. Must try. read more

I went there with my son and sister during brunch and spent almost 50 dollars after 20% tip and my sister didn't even eat. Two cups of coffee, a breakfast skillet (which was the tiniest skillet known to humankind) and a meal off the kids menu. Insane pricing, never eat here unless you enjoy having your wallet gouged. read more

I was pleasantly surprised by this place. I didn't know it existed but we ended up stumbling upon this place before a play at Theater Wit. Our table ordered the lobster deviled eggs, rotisserie chicken, and cheese burger. Everything was so delicious! I loved the deviled eggs and cheeseburger. Everyone cleaned their plates at our table. Our server was very nice and attentive to our group. Next time I'm in the neighborhood I will absolutely come here again! Such a cute spot! read more

I can't say enough good things about Crosby's. I've been here a bunch of times and have never been disappointed. It has great ambiance, indoor and outdoor seating, a great staff and the food is awesome. If you're going for brunch, which I highly recommend, you might have to wait a little bit for a table, but it's worth every minute. Besides, you can always wait for your table at the bar while sipping on a mimosa, specialty cocktail or any one of the many other spirits available. Everything I've ever had off their menu was delicious. My favorite meal of theirs is brunch, and I'd recommend the Fried Egg Sandwich, any one of the omlettes (especially the Lakeview) and the Lobster Deviled Eggs. And don't forget to try the Bloody Mary (with bacon!). I don't even like Bloody Mary's that much and theirs is delicious! A must try! read more

Crosby's is amazing! Fabulous food, drinks, and patio! The staff are super friendly. Caleb is amazing also!!

OH. MY. GOD. I went here on Sunday for brunch and ordered blueberry cornbread and a roasted chicken skillet. We found a long piece of hair in the cornbread, so we notified our waitress and she took this item out of our bill. Thus, I wasn't planning on writing a negative review for them. HOWEVER, came home with some leftover, including a new, untouched biscuit.....now look what I found... ANOTHER PIECE OF HAIR. WHO THE HELL MANAGES THE KITCHEN!? HOW DID THE RESTAURANT EVEN PASS THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT INSPECTION!?! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE! DO A BETTER JOB AND WEAR A HAIR NET TO COOK OR SOMETHING! This is unacceptable. It's NASTY AF. Now if y'all are wondering about the food. The roasted chicken was bland af so *DO NOT ORDER.* The cornbread was good up until we found that piece of hair. The chicken salad was whatever. I wouldn't pay 14 bucks for it again for sure. My boyfriend got a ham egg benedict and he also said it's not worth it. So overall, I would definitely NOT go here again and would not recommend. Good luck y'all! Hopefully your food will not have any hair in it! read more

Crosby's Kitchen is a staple restaurant in the Southport corridor. I'd recommend giving it a try if you haven't, but you may (like me) find that once is probably enough. The food is great but if you are there before 8pm it will be loud, crowded, and lots of kids/families. Which brings me to say- Great place for families and little ones! But as that isn't what I'm looking for in a dining experience, I usually opt for take out. Crosby's is a part of the 4 star restaurant group (think Remington's, smoque daddy, etc) that all have the Wrightwood salad on their menu. It's my favorite salad and I love to get it to go. read more

Came for brunch and luckily we had a reservation since it was very busy considering it was smack dab during Taco Fest. We were seated promptly at 11am - service was great. Our server was friendly and attentive and food came out quite quickly. We shared some monkey bread which was tasty. I had the shrimp and grits and this was enjoyable as well. Coffee was good. Our group of six overall enjoyed their food but was noted to not be the best - while some items were more interesting and perhaps elevated with a twist, didn't quite exactly work and was noticed. read more

Not only is the food consistently amazing, the staff are fantastic and accommodating. At our recent visit, some rain moved in and the staff went above and beyond to help make us comfortable. Walking by, looked busy (on the outside). American, easy comfort food (salads, steak, rotisserie chicken, salmon), hip knowledgeable staff, we thought, why not? Flavor of spicy margarita was questionable, still rose- Delicious. We ordered rotisserie chicken- it was bland as all get out. Best part of this dish was the mashed potatoes. I ordered the BBQ salmon- ehh, the sauce was good, the fish was crispy and dry on the edges. I also got a side of asparagus. The thick stalk of the asparagus was still intact and the asparagus was merely put on the grill to soften a bit, zero flavoring- no butter, salt, pepper, garlic, nothing. Came with a lemon wedge. Ok, now it tastes like lemony grilled plain asparagus. The cup of beans and rice was dry and cold. Eek. We passed on dessert because, truly were we looking to be further disappointed? Waitress and staff were great, we should have kept traveling down the road. read more

Delicious breakfast! We had the Cornelia & Lakeview omelets with tasty sides of perfectly in season fresh fruit and heap of hash browns. They are dog friendly which was a plus for us to enjoy the outside. I gave 5 star review for the excellent service. I am a firm believer in second chances. Hence, we came back after a mediocre experience. The specialty is the rotisserie chicken. To fully check out the house speciality, we had the chicken au ju sandwich, chicken & biscuits, and the Wrightwood salad. None were better than what I could make cooking some Jewel chicken in my oven. Burger was also meh... Even the skillet cornbread and skillet cookie were not memorable. (And I am the #1 fan of gooey cookies and buttery cornbread!) Why is a place with sub-par food rated so highly? I'd guess 100% the atmosphere. Crosby's has a cozy feel, great service, and welcomes little ones with crayons. Plus, I can't blame folks for giving stars for cocktails in a mason jar, cookies that come in mini skillets, and the staff's gingham shirt uniforms. It is undoubtedly charming. And, like every place on Southport, kids are required. I would not recommend as a date spot. read more

A truly delicious brunch place! This is a full restaurant with lunch, dinner, etc., but the brunch menu is awesome. They have a lot of unique and common foods choices. I would recommend a reservation for sure, if you don't want to wait. It is pretty crowded but that means it's popular. However, if you have to wait... it's worth it!!! Really good service too! Our table of four ordered: the Fried Egg Sandwich on Rye, the Lakeview Omelette and Corellia (something like that) Omelette. With the Lobster Deviled Eggs to start. One blood Mary, two mimosas, and 3 coffees. I ordered the Fried Egg Sandwich. It was very large in size, but incredibly delicious. It was served with the hashbrowns, which I had only heard GREAT THIS about, however, though they were good, I didn't think they were wonderful. I prefer my hashbrowns more crispy whereas these were more soft in texture and topped with some time if cream sauce (similar to Alfredo sauce). Two others are our table said the hashbrowns were delicious so it's all about preference. Definitely were come eat here again!! read more

Dropped by for brunch on Sunday , definitely a comfortable, family friendly place. All the service was great from host to server and relatively quick once we were seated. In terms of food, biscuits were awesome- warm, crusty on the outside, soft on the inside and served with maple butter. We also got the chicken hash and wrightwood salad, both of which had the rotisserie chicken that the place is supposed to be known for. Both items were fine, didn't really wow us. The chicken seemed kinda bland and a little dry, the hollandaise for the hash a little sweet. Outdoor seating was already out which is kinda nice, probably would drop by again for apps (or a biscuit), probably not brunch again though. read more

As other reviewers have stated, the restaurant has taken lots of precautions during COVID (sanitizer, virtual menus, outdoor seating, etc). We definitely felt safe the whole time. I love that kids eat free everyday from 4-6pm. I got My daughter the chicken legs kids meal and they were pretty good (a little lacking in flavor). I got the chicken sandwich with fries. The chicken was a little dry and needed salt. It does come with a broth that you're supposed to dip the chicken sandwich in, but the broth was bland as well. My friend got the burger and said it was great. We shared the corn bread. It was pretty good, definitely not traditional southern cornbread but tasty nonetheless. We also got the black margaritas. They were yummy but not very strong. For the service, I give 5 stars. Our server was attentive and patient. Overall, I would be willing to go back and try something else on the menu. read more
