The Drag brunch is EVERYTHING. THE fiercest divas. The menu is varied, lots of fun breakfast options as well as salads and sammiches. $5 glasses of champs, mimosas, bloody marys...basically whatever you want. The service during the show is surprisingly on point; it never took long for our food or drinks at all. And you will drink during this show. A LOT. One of the queens bought us all shots (multiple times) and plenty of jello shooters going around for $1. Great time. Be sure to make reservations weeks in advance, it is always booked. There's a noon show and a 2pm show (the 2pm is better, the queens are drunk off their face) and you're asked to show up a half hour early, as parking can be an issue so you're encouraged to get there early, settle outside on the patio and have a cocktail. I've been a loyal patron of this restaurant for years. I came originally decided to come here because they were the only restaurant that actually accepted reservations on NYE. I really didn't have any expectations but when I dinned there for the first time I was in heaven. Food: There's something for everyone on this menu. With a Lebanese/Italian/American fusion it's hard to go wrong. I've had everything from the Crab-cakes w Risotto, to the Mozzarella Chicken with spinach and crab-meat sauteed over linguini, to the fattoush salad. Everything I've ever gotten from there was really superb. From an appetizer standpoint I highly recommend the tuna bites, alligator bites, and of course the crab dip. I've really never had a bad experience with the food...so you can't go wrong with pretty much anything you order. Drinks: Drinks are so-so. Nothing too risky to choose from if you like cocktails, but the wine list is extraordinary...lots of options. Prices: Medium range for entrees...not bad at all for being so close to the beach. Drink prices on Friday nights are crazy cheap. HH goes until 9PM and we are talking $1 beers and $2 rails. Wines can get a bit pricey however. Service: I've only had a couple negative experiences there and the owners took care of it. On one occasion our appetizer was forgotten and brought out after we received our entrees. Our entire meal was comped by the owner (except drinks). We were completely shocked! Not saying they will do that every time, but it certainly made us repeat customers. You absolutely must Drag Yourself To Brunch asap! This show is put on by Crocs (and some local and not-so-local Drag Queens) every Sunday at 11am and 2pm. You should make a reservation at least a couple of weeks ahead of time, but this show is well worth the wait! It's about two hours long and with drinks flowing the whole time (try the Sunset Mimosa!) Drinks start at around $5 - a little pricey, in my opinion. Food is good as well, they have a great deal called 'Fit For A Queen' which is a basic breakfast platter of hash-brown, fruit, eggs and comes with a Mimosa for $13! I have gotten that meal before as well as The Hangover Wrap, which was really good but once again a little pricey for $9. My suggestion though is too most definitely check it out, I've been with a group of girlfriends twice now and by the end of the show my face hurts from laughing/smiling so much. This has been one of the few cigar friendly spots I found in Virginia Beach. The food is fairly good, the drink menu is good and the venue is a nice friendly place to unwind with friends. I always end up talking to the one manager everytime I am there, and we have good conversations about ports, wines, liquors and cigars. I've been to Croc's a few times including the Drag show. Went again the other night at about 6:00 p.m. While other restaurants I frequent are usually full at this time there were only about 7 people at the bar. No one in the dining area which made me wonder. The bartender only engaged the people he knew and so he never spoke with me. Not even "is this your first time?" I had the incredibly small blackened tuna bites placed over old lettuce. At $14.00 it was way overpriced. With that I decided an entree would be way to risky. When I left after 7:00 there was still approximately the same number of people at the bar and no one in the dining area. Lots of questions here. read more

Huge disappointment for our 2nd chance. We will not be returning. We were excited to try Croc's for dinner during restaurant week. We use this week to ensure that we try a new place we've never been. We had been to Croc's a year or so ago late night and had a really bad experience with how packed it was and some extremely rowdy people spilling multiple drinks on people in our group. None the less, it came back on my radar when they appeared at the March of Dimes Signature Chef Event held at The Founders Inn and Spa in October. They had a fabulous pork belly dish and actually won an award for it. When we saw the restaurant week menu on the dineinvb website, were really impressed and excited to try it! I made a reservation for 8pm directly off the website through Open Table. We arrived at 7:45pm and waited about 5-7 minutes for the hostess to finally come and greet us. She confirmed our reservation and said it would be about 10-15 minutes. We went up to the bar to try to get a few drinks. No acknowledgement. Ok we went to the other side of the bar. Finally after a few minutes one of the bartenders asked us for our order. 2 margaritas please. We waited several minutes for these and they were awful. The bar and dining room were all full but there was no need for the bartenders to be as rushed and non existent as they were. Its now 8:25 and my boyfriend goes to check with the hostess. He sees her just finish cleaning a table and asks if thats ours. She says yes and he comes back to the bar to close out. We return to the hostess stand only to find out that there are now other people sitting at the table that was apparently ours that we have been waiting (for our 8:00 reservation). Apparently a waitress had seen the girls walk in, saw the open table and told them they could sit there. So they end up approaching the girls and asking them to move. They passed us as they went back up to the bar. Awkward and super uncomfortable. We finally get to our table starving and ready to order. Another 5 minutes before we are approached by our waitress. She greets us in a rushed demeanor and makes a comment about waiting forever. In the middle of ordering we find out the Lamb is gone, of course thats what we came here to order. We made our selections (duck and lobster carbonara) got a bottle of wine and did our best to try to turn our night around. The first course (Spicy Tuna TarTar and Tomato Basil Soup) came. Tuna TarTar was not spicy, but had great flavor and we enjoyed it. My Tomato Basil Soup was delicious, but unfortunately it was room temperature. After our first course the waitress came to inform is that the bread pudding (one of our dessert selections) was also gone. Seriously? We asked for another Tomato Basil Soup instead, and after hesitation she obliged. Our main entrees came. OH MY GOD, look at that duck. The duck was way over done and the plate presentation was just horrible. The "asparagus hash" that had one little tiny head of asparagus in it, was super greasy with no flavor and looked and tasted like breakfast potatoes drowned in oil from a whole in the wall breakfast joint. On the other hand, my lobster carbonara was delicious! Again, just barely above room temperature and a very small portion. Again disappointed. Luckily it made up in flavor and I was starving. The waitress came over and asked how the food was and my boyfriend tried to be honest. She did not take our complaint very well and proceeded to tell us how everyone else was raving about it and she herself loves duck. Well thats great but we're telling you that we're disappointed that its overcooked. He tried to eat it because at that point we're starving. After two pieces he was done and ate a little of my plate. But again the portion size was very small and I had eaten most of it. She brought the tomato soup out which was piping hot and delicious. Phew. Then my lava cake dessert came. The homemade strawberry ice cream was delicious! The lava cake with the raspberry sauce was pretty tasty too, just really rich - which is normal for lava cake. Not over impressed, but finally not too disappointed. All in all it was really painful to pay our $110+ tab. We eat out every week and have both previously worked in restaurants for many years. We are never the couple to complain as we ourselves have been on the opposite end. Unfortunately our experience was just that bad. The level of service and quality we received for what we paid was so poor. As it stands now, will not be returning to Croc's. We are hoping to see Croc's in a different light tonight at the Beach Ambassadors Mixed Cocktail Experience which they will be competing in. read more

First, let me say that I had a great time at the 11am Drag Yourself to Brunch show yesterday. The performers were incredible and I loved the venue. Yes, it is loud and dark like other reviewers have stated online, but I found it to be intimate and the energy was great. My only issue was the food. I ordered a Rosemary Bloody Mary. On the menu, it said it was Deep Eddy Vodka with Bloody Mary mix. No where did it say it came with bacon. I am a vegetarian so I would not want that. However, when I got to the bottom of my glass, there was smashed up bacon in the bottom. Not a pleasant surprise. As for food, I ordered the Vibe Veggie wrap. I can not have onions so I made sure while reading the menu as well as with my waitress that it had no onions. She confirmed it did not. I stated again I can not have them. The wrap arrived and it had chopped up onion all inside. Again, I loved the show and would love to go again but the food and drinks make me hesitate to spend so much money again when the items are not served in the manner stated on the menu. read more

Went to a private social for the Christmas holidays.. Finger food was pretty good (4+ stars) but the whole place had kind of a shopworn appearance... Essentially the same layout as it was when it opened in the '80s as Bogies. Nothing new, nothing fresh. The wall leading into the restroom area looked like it had been transformed into some sort of media shrine for one of the owners with various newspaper clippings and other printed media completely covering the walls. This ain't a place I'm going to take an out-of-town guest and tout it as one of Virginia Beach's finest. A far cry from when it first opened. Maybe they'll consider closing for a few months and get the place remodeled and refurnished. It would help. Might go back if this happens, else wise it's too dingy... read more

When I asked the manager all she had to say was "the hostesses are new and were not trained on seating customers first come first serve"....she did not offer to fix the mistake. I did check in with the hostess during that 30mins waiting period TWICE. We were then seated at a high table behind the bar. Entertainment began and my party could not see anything more than a wig. The menu is THE worst I've seen simple because every brunch entree included a pork ingredient. Gluten-free and dog-friendly! Sat outside on a perfect springtime evening. The portions are huge - we ordered 5 appetizers instead of main courses and they were way too much to eat. Just the Lebanese beef tacos (two per order) could be a delicious meal. The steak or tuna bites are fantastic (we had an order of each). One other bonus - they have an extensive wine list and some impressive bottles. While some of those are very expensive, the wines by the glass are very good selections and, what's more, they are priced really well. Can get a glass of a nice chard or cab for $8, which would be $12-14 in most other places. Also had their signature martini - again very good and not overpriced. I'd been to Croc's before because I was intrigued by the menu and appreciated that they were a "farm-to-table" restaurant. My wife and I visited for dinner and while the price point was just higher than what we normally frequented, we appreciated the quality and taste. As a vegetarian, I was also happy to try options that were more innovative than your average veggie burger. We noticed that they were advertising a "Drag Yourself To Brunch" drag queen/brunch show on Sundays. We had heard a little bit about it and put it on our to-do list. We then went to Croc's on a Sunday just for a couple drinks one Sunday afternoon thinking that we'd missed the drag show. We did not. Though the place was packed, the hostess offered us a seat that had been cancelled to accommodate. We weren't eating so we perched at the bar and laughed, sang, and even slightly shimmied to the show before us. It was a pleasant surprise. After another Drag Brunch visit, we noticed that they're starting to do Bourbon, Burgers, and Bingo on the first Wednesday of each month. This was the beta test night hosted by Miss Victoria Foster who also does the drag brunch. It was my birthday, we reserved a larger table, and I couldn't have had a better night. The energy was great, the games were fun, there were even prizes offered. I'll keep going back for these reasons and also because I even had the opportunity to talk to one of the owners and learned a little about how hard she works to not only run a successful restaurant, but to be a productive part of the community. Terrible food. Service was okay if not good considering covid. The food however was an atrocity. The pizza we ordered fit in the palm of my hand. It was T I N Y. The Kals burgers we ordered were possibly the only affordable item that wasn't taken off the menu and still sounded good. We were met with a mediocre burger accompanied with non salted under seasoned frozen fries. Put some salt on it or at least fully cook them. Burger was underseasoned and pasta was the equivalent to cooking macaroni with lazily diced vegetables on top. Do yourself a favor and eat some cardboard instead. The brunch was unoriginal and too expensive for the variety, quality, and portion size of food. I got a salad that was more olives, and peppers than salad. The meals of my mates also looked dissapointing. My salad costs 9 dollars which i was expecting to get a full salad and it was more like a half. We arrived here after a terrible dining experience at Tautogs. Our hostess/waitress was a breath of fresh air. My dining companion is a cut up, and our waitress kept up with him step for step. The food was amazing. Get the seared sea scallops, you will not be disappointed. The fries are delicious (we asked the waitress for two.. Just to try). We've eaten here twice and both times have been a solid dining experience. The fried calamari comes with a key west sauce which we LOVE! The first time we went I had the scallop entree which was amazing! The scallops were perfect! The second time I had the fish taco dinner which was also very good. The last time we ate there we showed for a VERY early dinner (about 5ish) and they were cleaning up the place from the drag brunch that went pretty late. It's been a while, but from what I can remember, Croc's is a nice hole-in-the-wall restaurant with unique cuisine at affordable prices. I ordered the fish tacos which were flavorful, and something I would order again. My friends got the scallop linguini (good thick creamy sauce) and seafood risotto (nice variety of scallops, clams, mussels, and shrimp). It looks a little run down from the outside, but inside, it's nicer and the service was great as well. I would definitely come again and try it out if I ever came back to va beach. read more

I went on a date at Crocs last week and it was very good. Kendall was charming and cute and provided fantastic service. She started by offering a fatastic suggestion for a drink. A house martini with lavender.. I can't remember but it was smoothe and delicious! My date got the mojito which was very good! Appetizer - Gator bites! I had never had them and I was glad we did, very good and plenty of them! (it's like calamari had a baby with chicken tenders). I ordered the Short Ribs. Now, mind you, I have ordered the Short Ribs at like 5 of Hampton Roads premier dining destinations so I'm kind of hard to please.. The flavor was good but the meat was not cooked long enough - another couple of hours, guys! The flavor could have used a bit more bite and a bit more smoke (in my opinion). The rice was good but could have used more flavor as well. My date ordered the Chili Verde - superb! Very tasty and plentiful :-) Maybe even too many grits - less is more sometimes. The desserts were not made in house - fix that - you have talent in the kitchen, USE IT! A lot of potential at Crocs. We had a great night there and I am looking forward to another vist! read more

Favorite Bar for Friday Night Happy Hour! I love coming here for 1$ beers on Fridays! It's more of an over 30 crowd Friday during happy hour, but that's fine by me. Service is usually very good and you almost always can find a seat at the bar. Only down side to happy hour is the second it's over (at 9) the place becomes a ghost town. They have a nice big patio and I have seen a band or two playing here from time to time. I haven't ever eaten here but the food looks great from what I have seen. I have heard nothing but good things about the drag brunch and I can't wait to check that out. Where there was no table for us, people beside us had tables! We were by the register and she told us it was the "VIP section" although there was barely room to sit let alone eat!
