Ivka is one of the most detailed oriented tailors I have encountered. She can judge with her experience on what looks good/not on you. She was also very honest with her customers if she thinks it wouldnt look good or if the job requested is not a wise decision. One time I brought in a dress that was too small on me. I wanted her to help me expand it to fit. She brought up the different ways she can make the alterations but was also honest about how she thinks it will not look like what I have expected. Unlike some tailors who may not want to pass on a chance to do business, Ivka genuinely wanted me to be happy with my decision. I ended up returning the dress based on her advice. Ivka is the best, period! I believe I am qualified to say so because I have tried many different tailors in Austin/Round Rock area. I got to know Ivka a year ago through a friend, and have been so pleased with my every single visit . Actually there is a group of us going there on a regular basis and we are all very happy with her- there is almost a fun club going on :-) She is so talented , passionate and skilled with what she does, that she can come up with the most creative way to make any imperfections perfect. I have taken clothes bought for 2 years without wearing once to her and she can magically turn them into not only wearable but also beautiful new clothes! She won't let even the tiniest un-satisfaction ( to her standard which is high) slip away even if it is not even noticeable. She also charges very reasonable prices! P.S. Her store also provides dry clean services, though that is outsourced. But they do a good job and again, with very reasonable charges. Phenomenal! This place was recommended to me by a friend for my wedding dress alterations. I was hesitant because my dress was very expensive, and needed to be taken apart to have proper alterations. You can tell a lot about what a seamstress knows, by the way they look at the garment. Once I watched her pin my dress and talk about what needed I be done, I knew she could do it. I brought in two pair of jeans to be hemmed. The seamstress had me put on the jeans, measured and marked where I'd like them to stop at. I went to Croata Design for my first time several months ago; taking in a pair of work pants. These pants needed to be shortened and tapered. I am a very short lady and can only purchase bigger sized pants to fit me properly, so I always must have my pants hemmed and tapered. I was leery during my first time there as I had never been to a seamstress before and I was afraid that my pants might not be sewn properly. However, I was completely wrong! The lady that works there and whom is also the owner named Ivka is TOTALLY INCREDIBLE! She has years upon years of experience! She truly knows how to sew anything and everything! I see customers going in all the time with different types of sewing needs and she seems to be able to complete all of the required sewing tasks with perfection! Now I have been going there for a while. Every time I go there to drop off pants or my husbands pants, shirts, shorts, and more; customers always seem to be very satisfied with her work. With regards to my husbands and my clothing items; she always gets it completed correctly with precise accuracy! Oh, let me not forget about the other lady that works there named Jenna. She says that she has learned everything she knows from Ivka. And Jenna has also worked on my clothing. Jenna also completed all the sewing tasks with precise accuracy! Good hemming job but a bit overpriced. Note to self: if you have adjusting fabric wear a heel 1 inch taller than you plan on the dress. She didn't account for the type of fabric and cut my dress an inch too short. Now I'm forced to wear flats so it won't look silly with my 1/2 inch heels. Sigh. :/ I might come back here but I now know to wear taller heels than I plan for the hemming fitting. Just bummed I can't wear heels with this dress. Super super bummed right now. I kinda wish I left it ridiculously long so I could wear heels. GAAAHH THIS SUCKS SO MUCH. :( read more
