AND, the other bids did not include repairing damage. Jerry repaired BIG holes squirrels made in wood, including in doors of a custom made cabinet. My heart sank when I saw the damage. When Jerry said he could repair it, I wasn't sure how, but I told him to give it a try. Jerry made the cabinet look super cool! He used metal across the top so the little critters can't try again. He matched the metal to the wood! I took my husband and two sons out to see the repair, and they swore up and down there was no way it was metal. They said the cabinet looked brand new and they couldn't tell any difference from before the squirrels chewed it up. So, the other bids didn't see all the spots Jerry found, and no one else offered repairs, but their bids were higher. Jerry was extremely professional the whole time, stuck to his estimate and followed through with everything he said he would do. No more critters in our attic, their old entry spots are sealed off and we can't even see the damage. We've already recommended Jerry to neighbors.

I tried to contact other contractors, but Michael was the only one to respond immediately. He found a way to get on schedule asap. He completely an interior and exterior inspection, and found the hole in the softer area of the roof in minutes. He worked into the evening with absolute health and safety because he had to install the cage on the second story roof. He provided details to understand what we needed to do to catch the critter. Upon capture, he would be back to us asap with a gentle release. The cage was installed with quality around an 8 inch hole. Upon identifying that we were able to no longer have the animal in the house, Michael came back and performed excellent construction work to patch not only the hole, but the surrounding area . Overall, Michael's professionalism, quality of workmanship, responsiveness, fully transparent in explain all that needed to be done including cos that was reasonable, I made the right decision in hiring Michael's firm to handle a big problem. However, they were all better and willing to take care of my warrantied work. Much to my delight, they showed up on Aug. 8th and installed a one way trap over the problem area. They also used quite a bit of that black styrofoam sealant I've heard so much about in other reviews but whatever, it shouldn't be up long right? After install, they told me they'd be back in a week (unless we called them earlier if a squirrel was caught in trap). Great. Well, today is Sep. 5th (Happy Labor Day!) and I haven't heard a damn thing from anyone at Cypress Critters in a month. Maybe they got monkey pox this time? Is Ebola still around? Maybe the plague. Whatever the case, I didn't care to hear anymore excuses or waste another minute trying to get in touch with this unprofessional business. So, I pulled out my ladder, tore off their trap, scraped off all the black styrofoam sealant I could, and dealt with it myself. I'm probably better off, considering some of the god-awful work I've seen in other reviews. 0 stars. I won't be using them again and good riddance. I'd imagine there are much better options anywhere in Houston. Perhaps, other businesses in this field take pride in their work and honor their word. Perhaps.

Jeff arrived today and investigated my entire house. I was fully expecting him to tell me there were rats and that he would have to do all this work in my home. Instead, he told me that he didn't find any evidence of rodents. I was a bit distracted with a conference call at work, but he told me he was in no rush as I was the last appointment of the day. As I was finishing up my call, he inspected the exterior of my home to see if there were any opportunities for rodents to get inside. He was so thorough that he even used his ladder to take a closer look at the roof. He let me know that my house was pretty well sealed (from previous owners), but there were a some minor spots that may require sealing. He was very honest and told me that it may be cheaper to have a roofer do the work. We then went up to the attic, and Jeff spent a good amount of time educating me on signs of rodent activity. He even went the extra mile to take a look at the HVAC ducting and water heater to find the source of the noise I've been hearing. While we ultimately couldn't get to the root of the problem, it was very reassuring to learn that it wasn't due to rodents. I absolutely commend Jeff for the thoroughness in his inspection, and honesty in his assessment. He has earned my trust, and subsequently my future business. This summer we began hearing noises in the ceiling and our walls. Soon it was unmistakable; we knew…read morewe had critters in the attic. Whether they were raccoons, mice or rats, we didn't know, but we did know we needed to do something about it. A good friend of ours told us about Chris Hall and his company, Wild Things, that specialized in the capture and removal of things that aren't supposed to be living in people's houses. We heard a lot of good things about the company so we looked them up and gave them a call. Soon Chris came by and we told him what we were hearing in the attic and walls. He was very attentive and asked pertinent questions about our situation. He then climbed up in the attic and inspected the area. After he came down, he verified that there was evidence of nesting areas and rat fecal matter up there. The rats had apparently made their home in our attic insulation. Chris then patiently explained how he would take care of the critters and remove them from our house. As our house is over 40 years old we asked about the possibility of stripping out the old insulation and getting new blown in. He then explained the process of removal and installation, and gave us a quote. We agreed on the quote and he began his work. He first installed bait and traps to remove the critters, which was accomplished in a few days' time. He was very unobtrusive in his work; we hardly knew he was there. The removal of insulation was a bit more noisy, as expected, but was done in one day's time. A few days later Chris brought over the equipment for blowing in the new insulation and began work. This was also done in one day's time, though your mileage may vary depending on the size of your house. What was surprising to me was that though they spread plastic tarps to cover everything, there was hardly any mess made while the insulation was blown in. An added bonus was that after he was done our home was much better insulated than before. Cleanup was very quick, and they were done in the early afternoon. The Wild Things people were always reliable and were here when they said they would be here. They always called to give us a heads up when they were coming. I never thought that pest eradication and installing insulation could ever be a good experience, but Chris Hall and the people of Wild Things made it quite delightful.
