By far the best chicken sandwich I have ever had in Phoenix. And the service had me feeling welcomed into the establiahment.

Because of the reviews I came across most of them mentioned the cheesecake, naturally I had to order it and it was delicious.

We have been wanting to try this place for a while now. It is in the middle of ASU campus and…read moresometimes we avoid the area because of traffic but today we were in the area and we decided to go! Friday afternoon around 3pm after a baseball game. There are about 5-7 parking spots out front. We were happy to find a spot. It is CASH ONLY. So make sure you bring cash! It is one of the oldest places in the area and we have heard amazing reviews! It has a lot of history and super cool pictures and a great vibe. The people are great. William took really good care of us. We got the bacon cheeseburgers, fries and beer battered mushrooms. FIVE STARS!!! Omg. William was friendly and he made sure our entire order was made to order so our fries and beer battered mushrooms were fresh! They charcoal broil your burgers to order in front of you! Everything was delicious! You can definitely taste the charcoal broiled meat!!! The fries were perfectly salty and crispy! We asked for extra crispy fries. And the beer battered mushrooms were crispy on the outside, salty and juicy on the inside. It is also important to note that they premade bacon pieces in the shape of the burger patty so every bite has bacon! It was spectacular. I love my entire meal!

It's a no frills small joint that's been slinging food here for decades. I got the bacon cheese burger, fries and a coke. Simple, yet all I need with a burger. I loved how they do the bacon here too. It's not strips of bacon but instead a circle of bacon. So good and crispy! The condiments are self serve in this middle area and you shout your order when it's your turn and then wait for your burger to come up then grab a tray, your burger, drink and side. I love a nostalgic place, and this is def that! It was packed when we got there but don't fret. Line moves fast and people eat and then get out knowing it's a place you eat and then move on.

We ended up getting 2 double burgers with fries, 2 drinks and 6 buffalo style wings. The total was a little over $51 (Not bad for the area) Once we got our food after a very short wait it turned out to be one of if not the best smash burgers we've ever eaten. The fries were perfectly crispy while at the same time flavorful and there was little to no oil on them. The ambiance felt like a blast from the past with all the neon lights and old school booths.

For a couple of old timers like us, it's different feel. Food: Its a limited menu and the $s add up quickly. Double smash burger $12 + $2 for chilies; which Jr said is a must. Burger was decent, bun was excellent. Burger itself, nothing special over say a Culvers or Freddy's. Fries ordered well done were excellent! Asked for them to be well done and they were! Service: You order at the counter and they bring it out. Old guy in me is always confused on the tip here. Back in the day, this was not a tip situation. I filled my own drink and refill. $50 dropped before tip. Nice guy at the register, but again that's baked into the prices? We ate outside and they have a really nice area set aside overlooking the parking lot. Noticed they have heavy duty misters, so should be a solid dining option year round. Overall: Worth a visit if you are in the area. Would we drive 25 miles again? Probably not.

Paradise Valley Burger has become somewhat legendary in this part of town. I first heard about them…read morefrom a co-worker who swore by them when they were located down the road, but when they moved to their current location not far from my office, I knew I would have no excuse to not try them. I wandered in for lunch one day and noticed that the menu appears to have been scaled down from what they used to offer according to friends, so there aren't as many "wild" choices for burgers anymore as far as I can tell, so there are five burgers to choose from. I was going to try something basic for my first visit to get a feel for how they do a typical burger anyway, so I ordered the $10 Paradise Burger, but since I'm not really a fan of cucumbers or pickled onions, I had them leave those off. What remained were the beef patty, lettuce, tomato, and thousand island dressing, so I added bacon for an upcharge. I also went for the combo and got fries and a drink for an additional $6. (Other burgers on the menu are more expensive, ranging from $13.50 to $14, and they also offer a couple of chicken sandwiches and a grilled cheese sandwich. They have two salads as well, and the rest are sides, drinks, and desserts.) Service was friendly, and after ordering, I grabbed a table indoors. They have a little bit of outdoor seating and as many tables as they can fit inside. It's a small, very basic place--clearly known for the food more than the ambience, but there's nothing wrong with it. It's not meant to be anything more than that. Once my burger arrived, the presentation was good, and I dug in. The burger was very tasty, and the fries were delicious. The patties were cooked right, and I had no complaints about the portion size. Although everything was good, I guess people had pumped up the place so much that I expected more. I wasn't "wowed," but I had no complaints either. I might feel a little disappointed in the more expensive burgers, but I won't know until I try one. I'd probably feel better about a slightly lower price for the combo add-on. Ultimately, I think this is a decent burger joint and a place you should try. You may very well come away more impressed than I was!
