I ordered the halloumi pancake, and was so pleased with how balanced the sweet, savory, and spicy flavors were. The pancake is fluffy and only slightly sweet, and the halloumi is baked into the top, hidden underneath the eggs. The bacon was thin and well cooked, but still chewy. And the avocado was nice and ripe! Others at our table ordered the eggs benedict, which was served on a super thick slice of brioche bread, the scrambled eggs, and the egg sandwich. All were super delicious. The sausage tray bake was "superb" according to my grandfather too! They are also very kind and accommodating here. Our party of 6 had two elderly grandparents, to whom the staff offered seats inside while we waited for a table. The wait was not long at all, and we were all seated within 10 minutes without a reservation.

My favorite thing about how they do it in Portugal is the emphasis on fresh-tasting, quality ingredients and natural fruit juices with generally smaller portions, rather than the massive food-coma-inducing servings that you'll find at many American brunch spots. My search for yet another delicious Lisbon brunch led me to Fauna & Flora, which caught my eye with its aesthetically pleasing menu featuring kataifi "nests", acai/smoothie bowls and unique fruit juice blends. Everything we ended up ordering was as delicious as it looked and sounded on the menu, from the Tropicália pancakes (a light yet indulgent stack layered with coconut and mango cream, topped with a pineapple confit, mint, lemon and coconut flakes) to the intricate Salmon nests (baked avocado with smoked salmon, cucumber pickle set and a perfectly sous vided egg on top over the crunchy kataifi nest for an elaborate and flavorful mix of textures). Between my bf and I, we also ended up ordering three of their natural fruit juices to try the inventive combos (watermelon and mango, acai with goji, banana and berries, etc), which were all delightfully refreshing~ Although it was a bit of a detour from our sightseeing path, Fauna & Flora is definitely worth a visit -- especially for vegan or gluten free diners who will find no shortage of delicious options on their breakfast and lunch menus. If I had more time in Lisbon, I'd absolutely return to try one of their açaí bowls, their juice of the day or one of the enticing lunch bowls that had me tempted even at brunch!

I started with a coffee, and it came out fresh, hot and exactly how you want it in the morning. For food, I asked if they could make me a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich on a croissant. The croissant was a nice touch and made the sandwich feel a little more elevated than your standard breakfast sandwich. The service was good throughout the visit, and the staff was friendly and accommodating. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, and we decided to sit inside, which was comfortable and had a nice relaxed feel. The location is another big plus. It's in a good area where you can grab coffee and breakfast, then walk around and explore afterward. Overall, I had a really good first experience. I've been living in Lisbosa for the last 65 days, and this is my favorite coffee/brunch spot. I will miss it when I return home to Arizona, because I know no one else can compare. Below is a pic of the avocado toast which is great too. If I was a better picture taker, I'd also have a pic of the ham one. I'll try to add one later. Just go and pick out your favorite!

The shakshuka, part of the seasonal menu, was incredibly flavorful and bright. The tomato sauce was perfectly balanced, not overly acidic at all, and beautifully complemented by the green pea hummus, fresh salad, and red onion. It comes with exceptional homemade sourdough bread that is perfect for wiping up every last bit of sauce. My only tiny critique is that I wish the egg yolk had been a bit more runny rather than jammy, but it was still a delicious dish. For drinks, the Cremoso Iced Coffee is a total indulgent treat. Combining a double shot of espresso with vanilla, milk, and pastéis de nata ice cream, it is definitely on the sweeter side for coffee in Portugal. It feels more akin to a standard, sweetened iced coffee in America, but the blend of sugar, cream, and cinnamon made it the perfect vacation splurge. The interior decor is adorable, bringing lots of tropical, fresh, and welcoming vibes that are perfect for a cozy morning. Because the indoor seating is fairly limited, I can see it getting packed during peak hours. However, my party of three walked right in and got a table with no issues on a Monday morning around 9:00 AM. I would highly recommend Augusto if you're in the area and looking for a high quality, local brunch spot.
