Got the veggie deluxe platter which included 3 falafel, fried eggplant, potatoes, hummus, choice of salad, pita, and dips. The menu in store said it also came with 2 grape leaves but those were not there. I liked the tabbouli, which was fresh and extra lemony. The falafels and eggplant were too oily. It was good that the falafels were extra crispy but I felt like I could taste the oil itself, and the eggplant was completely soggy with oil. The potatoes did not have the excess grease problem and were nicely seasoned. The hummus was good but drizzled with oil which was the last thing I wanted more of. The pita was the kind you can buy at the grocery store, would have been nicer if it was warmed up. The veggie deluxe plate was about $20 after tax, which is towards the upper end of prices for donair shops. This plate does contain more of a variety than the falafel plates at lots of shops though. The amount of food was enough that I felt full. I can't really say if it was worth it because I was so turned off by the greasy eggplant that I wasn't able to really enjoy it. To me the staff was neither friendly nor unfriendly. Anything with falafel takes a little longer because they fry them to order, so considering that, the wait time for my food was reasonable. read more

Everything I've ever ordered from Crispy Falafel has been delicious, healthy, light, and packed with flavour. One of these days, I'm going to sit down in the restaurant and give a review on that end. For now, all I can speak on is the food. I ordered my lunch at the office from SkipTheDishes. The Greek salad was tangy, vibrant, and crisp with a tang from the green olives and a zip from the feta. The flavours mingled into a fresh, onion-fueled bite topped with cleansing lettuce and cucumber alongside fresh sliced tomato. The mixed shawarma donair in tannour bread? If you're ever ordering from here, do *not* miss out on the Tannour bread. Light, crispy, flavourful, and a perfect shell to hold the fillings of juicy meats, veggies, sauces and all. Combined with their house hummus and hot sauce? You can't go wrong. The whole meal was filling, flavour packed, and healthier than other options. You can literally taste the freshness. I would have liked more feta and olive in my salad, as a personal preference, and couldn't find any chicken in my "mixed shawarma", but nonetheless, I did enjoy it very much. If looking for a good appy, I recommend their "lentil soup" or "seasoned potatoes as well (be warned these are oiled up but oh so good!) Lucky for us we were driving through White Rock about 130 and did a detour into Crispy Falalfel for lunch. Just the smell walking inside puts a smile on your face. We had the mixed shwarma beef and chicken, with all of the condiments/pickles. We have been going to this location for years. It never disappointed us. Well, we ordered a falafel sandwich and chicken shawarma. The chicken shawarma was delicious. Almost perfect! However, the falafel sandwich was not. There was too much hummus. Also, I have never seen a falafel that was brown inside and the falafel had a brown crust that separated from the actual ball itself. I picked the falafel and eggplant wrap -- not babaganouje, but plain fried eggplant added to the wrap. The falafel balls were fried to order, not reheated -- perfectly cooked through, crispy on the outside, fully cooked on the inside. The eggplant was soft and juicy, and added its taste to the mix. There was just enough hot sauce to remind me that I asked for it. . . . What more could I want? The Summerside Urban Forest is nearby, with easy, shaded trails. I ordered the chicken shawarma plate to go. The meat was not cut from the spite, which was the first sign. I got home and the chicken was okay. The veggies and sauces were good. The rice was really bad and I couldn't even eat it anymore and put it in fridge: I went back the next day and they made me a new one as I couldn't eat the first one. The lady behind the counter seemed pissed, even though my first order was barely touched and I had my receipt. The second one wasn't that great at all as well but more edible. I have eaten at dozens of donair restaurants in Vancouver and in the Surrey area. Out of all of them Crispy Falafel is by far the best from the friendly staff to the quality and flavour of their food. I have to try the signature dish at every new restaurant I dine at. The chicken Shwarma wrap or plate is so incredibly tasty my mouth waters just thinking about it. The price of the food is cheap to reasonable. Nothing in the menu is really expensive. But honestly if the price of everything went up a dollar or two I would still eat there. Highly recommended. Give them a try if you haven't already! read more

Make sure you see them wash their hands first! The food is pretty good, hit and miss depending on who's working. Falafel is the most consistent filling. I ate there last week and had the beef donair with soup combo. The lentil soup was bland, the beef was awful and the whole thing was dry. I asked for extra sauce for the bottom half, just to make it edible, the guy gave me a teaspoon and acted like I was killing their profit margin. I really should have walked away when I saw this same guy coming out of the bathroom when I went to wash my hands and the sink was bone dry! He didn't wash his hands. I was sick the next day. Nice! We needed somewhere quick and easy for lunch and stopped in based on Yelp reviews and it was great. My five year old daughter demolished her chicken shawarma wrap even though it was huge and ate half the rice off my chicken shawarma plate. It's a little more expensive than other falafel places I've been too, but not by much. If there's a next time (we just happened to be in the area), we'll probably just share the plate and get extra chicken. Based on the number of people coming in for take out and how many were eating in, it's a popular place with local businesses. I really like this place! The portions are big and the food is really tasty. I recommend the chicken schwarma plate, it comes with salad, hummus and bed of rice. It used to also come with a full pita but that has since dwindled down to two pieces of pita, (1/2 a large pita i guess) the humus is good too and they sell it in larger containers. I have had the kefta kebab as well and its hit or miss, depending on if its freshly made or a frozen one cooked up to order. The lady that works there is nice, the man taking the orders and working the till is only focused on taking the orders and taking your money, no small talk with this guy. They used to have a crew that was very engaging and chatted a lot but I haven't seen them in a very long time. We usually do take out and are always happy, there is usually a wait when we do go in to pick it up if we called ahead. There is usually a small group of people waiting. I wouldn't really eat there but for what it is the tables are kept clean. PS. when you are doing a pick up order and calling it in, let them know you are on your way, we have had instances where we ordered and they didn't start the order until we got there so had to wait a while, since the order was for a few people. All in all really good spot and worth the wait when you do have to wait. read more

Love this place! Im vegetarian and I always get the eggplant wrap which is so tasty. It's messy but that's from all the delicious sauces that combine to give it the most amazing taste. My husband usually gets chicken wraps and loves them too. We always get "everything" on them (ie: pickles,onions,hot sauce etc). We used to go into Van to get good Mediterranean food but we're happy we discovered Crispy Falafel about a year ago. We have not been to the Johnson Rd location. read more
