Complaint Against Cold Stone Creamery - 6300 E. Hampden Ave., Denver, CO…read more I am extremely disappointed with the service I received at the Cold Stone Creamery located at 6300 E. Hampden Ave., Denver, Colorado, on July 15, 2026, at approximately 6:00 p.m. I ordered the S'mores cracker , but my order was made incorrectly--not once, but twice. Instead of informing me that the product was unavailable, the store substituted almond clusters without my knowledge or consent. As someone with food allergy concerns, I find it unacceptable that an ingredient containing tree nuts was substituted without any communication. Customers should always be informed before allergens are introduced into an order. After the second incorrect order, I called the store simply to understand what had happened and requested to speak with a manager. The employee who answered told me there was no manager available while laughing throughout the conversation. She then admitted that the store did not have the S'mores ingredients, confirming that the substitution had been made intentionally without notifying me. When I asked why no one had contacted me or asked for approval before changing the order, the employee continued laughing. She then claimed she was the manager, despite previously stating there wasn't one, and abruptly hung up on me. I called back to request her name so I could report the incident appropriately. Instead of providing her name or directing me to a supervisor, she immediately placed me on hold and refused to assist me. At no point did anyone apologize, express concern, or attempt to resolve the situation. I have photographs of the incorrect orders and a recording of the phone conversation documenting this interaction. My concern extends beyond receiving the wrong order. The decision to substitute a product containing tree nuts without informing the customer demonstrates a disregard for basic food safety and customer trust. Equally troubling was the unprofessional conduct displayed when I attempted to address the issue respectfully. I am requesting that this complaint be investigated, that management review the conduct of the employee involved, and that the store reinforce policies requiring employees to obtain customer approval before making ingredient substitutions--particularly when potential allergens are involved. No customer should have to discover an undisclosed substitution after receiving their order or be laughed at and hung up on when seeking an explanation.
