    Bad mushroom pasta!
    John P.

Should have heeded the yelp warnings. We spotted this place on a walk to somewhere else, but were starving. I'm tempted to gag myself and start over. There was only one Italian, cheesy, waitstaff, and the rest of them immigrants. Not that that's a bad thing, but the food sure was. As another yelper stated they tried to sell us on about 100 different things to start. I got a pasta dish with mushrooms and I literally think they opened up a CAN of mushrooms and dumped it on some cheap pasta. Avoid this place at all costs. OH, AND I ORDERED AN APPLE SPRITZ, BUT FOR SOME STRANGE REASON, IT LACK THE SPRITZ, OR THE PROSECCO. THEY ARGUED WITH ME THAT IT WAS ADDED, BUT I SAID THERE WERE NO BUBBLES IN IT. TOOK IT BACK TO THE BAR AND GOT A SPLASH OF PROSECCO, BUT BY THAT TIME, IT WAS VERY WATERED DOWN.

This restaurant had the prettiest indoor dining setup. Fantastic food and service. We ordered 2 appetizers, 2 entrees, 2 half bottles of wine, & 1 dessert to share at the recommendation of our waitress and every single item was delicious. Had a chilled red wine here that I can't find back home & which I'm still pining after. Service was attentive without being overbearing. Saw a table next to us order the fish and regret not getting a fish dish as well. Lovely date spot; worth a visit if you're in Rome.

    Nice, romantic atmosphere

Our dining experience at Ristorante Crispi 19 was our last meal in Roma, and our last meal in Italy, and I can say confidently that we saved the best for last. We ordered the wine tasting that accompanied the chef's seafood tasting menu, which was 7 courses of divine dishes. There were delicious foaming sauces, creams, and other delicate accoutrements which we loved, and which showcased the chef's talents. I loved being able to take a peek into the kitchen from the hallway, and really saw how fast the chef was working, and how focused he was, and I think that is why every course that came out was even better than the last. We also enjoyed the waiter, the sommelier, and the restaurant's manager, all of whom greeted us before/during/after the meal. The wine parings were on-point, and the selections were from various regions in Italy. They had fresh breads, one of which was a seaweed bread--something I've never had before, and it went so well with the sauces for each course. They even gave us a parting gift from the chef, which was a recipe for his sea-bass, and a bottle of the house olive oil. The interior of the restaurant had a dimly lit, romantic ambiance, with great air conditioning, and a lovely bathroom as well. There is a large outdoor patio, though we did not even consider that during this heat wave. Check them out on Trip Advisor where there are thousands of reviews. https://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g187791-d1380808-Reviews-Ristorante_Crispi_19-Rome_Lazio.html?m=19905

Receipt of $116 euros in over charges.

What. A. Scam. We were walking by this restaurant and the waiter/host came out and friendly/aggressively he's like sit, sit, come on for their outdoor patio. We're tired and hungry. The night is turning chilly and they have heat lamps. We order our dinner and drinks. A few minutes later, the person who took our order asked us if we wanted traditional Roman veggies, he says this in Italian, we're American but my husband speaks Spanish and understands, he asks me if I want it, I shake my head no, said I ordered the spinach because I thought he was just confused about the veggie/side I ordered the guy looks at me, looks at my husband, nods and is off. Imagine our side when the manager brings us two artichokes, one boiled and one fried and four plates of bruschetta. We say no no, this isn't ours. He insists it is. I say no we didn't. He yells, we ordered it. Everyone is looking at us. Three of the four bruschettas were eventually eaten, the artichokes were not. When they pick up the plates, the manager says patronizing it, don't worry, don't worry, your food will come. It's okay. Like what? Get the bill. Nice little 10% service charge they added. The absolute worse. So I get home and look at the receipt my husband signed. They charged us four bruschettas we didn't order, the two artichoke, 1 spag pomodero, didn't order and don't even know what it is, 4 sprites, we received 2, 2 beers, we received 1, and a glass of white wine that I neither ordered or received. Calling my credit card company. How many tourist do they do this to each night. $116.50 in over charged. Amazing. Hope it's worth this review.

We came here for our final dinner in Rome, and we were sadly disappointed. The host and wait staff were so friendly and kind, but they were trying really hard to be a better restaurant than they were. But if I had to rate it alone on the friendliness and eagerness of the staff, they would get a 5+ stars. Since they heavily advertised their seafood and I was craving seafood after a week of past, we decided to give it a shot. We ordered truffle carpaccio, the spiny whole lobster and a bottle of Italian Riesling. All were pretty average. The carpaccio had no flavor, and was cut heavily so it was really grinding to chew down. The spiny lobster, while fresh (they fished it out of the tank), but it was cooked poorly! Part of it was uncooked when it came out and they kind of tossed it in some type of vinaigrette salad thing where some of it was look warm and other parts uncooked. The wine was ok, nothing to write home about. All in all, I would never come back here again.

Very nice combination of different seafood options they also have some meats but we where looking for seafood options. Booking is very easy using Google. Very nice place and food.

We came here on our last night in Rome looking for gluten free accommodations and we were so grateful for the lovely meal provided here. The service was incredible and the wine selection was great. My significant other ordered a pasta dish gluten free which was met with no fuss. His dish was great and one of the best gluten free pastas he had. I ordered the linguine in lobster sauce and I highly recommend. You will be nothing short of happy when dining here. If we come back to Rome, we will definitely come back here.

Amazing food. Trip advisor is more reliable. This place has over 2k reviews and 3 Michelin stars. Make reservations. The food was delicious in good portions that were flavorful. Had desserts as well. Staff were friendly and didn't rush us. Environment was romantic.

Don't waste your time. Go somewhere else. This place is a total chaos

We stay literally across the street and wanted to try the T-bone station but there were closed so we settled for this place. We ordered Shrimp Fettuccine and I asked to make it with Alfredo sauce, and again I said it "please make it with cream sauce". I've attached the photo of what we got. They insisted if this was fettuccine and it turned in into a heated loud verbal argument. Staff is friendly but the rude tall bitch with heavy accent is a C word and I wouldn't waste my time even looking at the menu. Lasagne was mediocre, sandwich was US subway level and food was served cold. Place looks clean but it's a total chaos behind the counter and the big bitch constantly yells and screams at everyone. Try another place.

Mediocre food, small wine list, slow service. Not terrible, but far from what many think this place is. Wouldn't return.

The edamame we had was soft and boiled/spiced to perfection. Originally we were just going to get a roll and a bowl but after trying the food we immediately got another roll. The staff was a whole new level of mind blowing. To start the waiter made us feel exactly where we belonged (even though we were a little underdressed for a classier restaurant). You could've just sat there and watched the bar tender all night, she looked like she was a professional I wouldn't want anyone else making me drinks. The atmosphere of the whole bar embodied a classic American jazz bar, even the other people and tables we were by were friendly and really added to the whole experience. Was very well worth the price and couldn't recommend any other restaurant.

A jazz club for American tourists…read more Okay, there was one Australian lady and a few Chinese. Everyone else was American. Prices are sky-high because this is a soak the tourist situation. Alexanderplatz which is the premiere jazz club in Rome charges $18 euros for a month membership - no cover after that - and $12 per drink. So once you have paid your monthly cover charge, you can hear all the jazz you want for free - or if need be for $12 euros a drink At Alexanderplatz, the performances are legendary with some of the most innovative and technically amazing musicians in Rome. We dropped over $150 euros at Gregory's. We got a perfectly reasonable yeoman guitarist. But nothing like the artistic lions that routinely perform over at Alexanderplatz. Now to be fair, we had dinner at Gregory's and we never eat at Alexanderplatz. The standard "sushi dinner" was perfectly reasonable yeoman sushi. There was so little of it that we both had to order a la carte dishes afterwards. The extra extras seriously expanded the final tab. * * * One argument in Gregory's favor: their bar is extraordinary. The bar at Alexanderplatz is mediocre. Gregory's charges top dollar for its bar offerings, but what they mix and what is in their bottles is worth every single euro they ask for. I would be perfectly happy to just go to the bar, and order a few premium beverages. I would hear my wallet cry. But I would know that I was drinking supremely well in return for my investment. Fortunately, the bar is downstairs from the club. I would not have to put up with the shenanigans in the club. * * * The problem with the club is the crowd. At most, one third of the customers are actually there to listen to jazz. The room is filled with tourists taking selfies. There are also hot-daters playing snuggle-buns. Many of them will leave mid-set so they can go back to the hotel. Gregory's is less about the music and more about selling happy memories of Rome. * * * Alexanderplatz gets a mostly Italian crowd. You are looking as musicians, music critics, academics, and all purpose artsy types - as well as normal Italian human beings who just want to hear fine music. The music is taken very very seriously. Yeah, there are usually two or three tables with good time Charlies who are doing the phone recording, party hearty thing. But this is 8% of the audience at Alexanderplatz as opposed to 70% of the audience at Gregory's. To be fair to the crowd at Gregory's, the music at Alexanderplatz is simply better. The jazz at Alexanderplatz is capable of transfixing even philistines with tin ears. Gregory's jazz doesn't put that much on the table. But the crowd at Alexanderplatz sets me up for listening to mystic, complex music with the highest level of attention and aesthetic receptiveness. The crowd at Gregory's just gets me irritated. * * * If you are in Rome with a hot date, go to Gregory's. Be prepared to shell out the bucks. * * * If you are in Rome with someone who can truly appreciate once-in-a-lifetime musical experiences, take them to Alexanderplatz. After you talk about the music for half an hour after the concert, You can still go back to the hotel. Just figure that the hotel will be the second best part of the night.

I ordered a split of Bolero even though it's hot, I wanted it with my gnocchi with black truffles. The gnocchi and the wine were both delicious. I also had ordered a salad to start. When they brought out my salad, it was huge and I remarked about how big it was and he said oh would you like a smaller one and I said, yes please. I hadn't even touched the bowl. A few minutes later, he brought a much smaller much better sized bowl filled with crunchy radicchio, carrots, arugula, and other nice veggies. I was grateful because I couldn't even finish that one. There's no way I could've done the large one. The service was excellent. They were very kind and courteous, and went out of their way to be helpful more than once . As I was leaving it was pouring rain. My waiter didn't want me to go out into the rain without an umbrella and I said I was fine and I laughed that I wasn't made of sugar, most could attest to that. He smiled and said just a minute and he went back somewhere towards the kitchen and dug around and came back out with an umbrella.
