The tech also lost our power cable to our tv and gave us some generic one after scrambling around. They charge a Dx charge to be applied to the repairs, however we still had charges added on after the Dx was given and repairs done. they refused to give my husband the price he was quoted, even after he spoke with them over the phone and confirmed the charges before pick up multiple times. My husband is beyond upset. Needs so much more organization. take responsibility for their mistakes (ie losing a power cord) instead of telling custom "they all work the same it's fine just take this one", it's the principle.

Last Saturday, I brought an AV receiver here that was having problems with a constant hum after…read morebeing on for a while. Was charged $20 to have the guy, Andrew, diagnose it. As it was the end of the day, he said he'd look at it and call me Monday. Monday afternoon rolled around and I got impatient and called him. He told me he had checked it out and it was the transformer, and that he'd call me on Tuesday with the estimate for a new transformer. Around noon on Tuesday, he called me back with his quote. While the cost was within reason, I opted not to have it repaired due to the receiver's age and the price I paid for it refurbished on a discount site years ago. Even with the diagnostic fee counting towards the total cost, I explained that I'd probably be better off putting the cost of the repair towards a newer receiver with modern features, and he seemed to understand. Had the receiver been worth more to me, I would have had no problem giving Andrew my business. The service was good (not kiss-your-ass-good like some entitled Yelpers seem to demand, but more honest and professional, which I appreciate), and he seems to have a lot of experience. His shop is a small storefront with bins of components and all the stuff you'd want to see in a repair shop. While my particular repair didn't make good financial sense, had I had a higher-end unit or a TV that was out of warranty, it would have definitely been better to fix it than to recycle it. In a world where electronics repair people are becoming scarcer, it's good to know that shops like this still exist.

He was super friendly and answered my questions. I expressed my love for HP and he showed me some specials they had. I ended up going with a HP OmniBook because it was $300 off. I was considering a warranty but for 1yr at $170 and it doesn't start until after the 1yr manufacturing warranty it wasn't worth it. I passed because that's not worth it. Overall, the service was great and the value was too. I just don't like their warranty program and bummed they didn't have Pokemon.

I've been disappointed over the last few years, both as a customer, veteran, and student. During my recent visit, I was helped quickly, which I appreciated. However, I found the last unit of a product I wanted, and it was already opened. The employee told me there was nothing they could do--I had to either buy it at full price or it would be sent back to the manufacturer. No discount, credit, or alternative was offered. The staff are doing their best, but the policies make it frustrating for loyal customers. I wish I can give more stars especially to the amazing people that work here but Bestbuy you have failed your employees and your customers.
