BEWARE... crest foods does not stand behind their products. A box of wine and when I went to open, it discovered it was bad. I brought it back to the store full and with my receipt, they refused to give me a credit or replace it with the fresh box of wine. That was not bad. They were very cold and looked at me and said we do not take returns on alcohol. I contacted the manager the store Gary, who acknowledged that I should've received a return however, he refuses to call me back or arrange any kind of return. I've lost all respect for him. I've also contacted top operations management. I've left a message for the president of the company Steve nobody will respond so I went to my bank Wells Fargo and the immediately refunded the whole cost of the wine to me immediately in my favor with a copy of the receipt. I like to support local businesses and Crest is one of them. My 4th times being here and first time buying beef flank. Little did I know that the steak was already bad and what they did was package it to where I couldn't see the bad side of it. When I came home and started to cook, I flipped the back of the meat and saw the meat color was black/dark brown. When I checked for the smell of it, I knew right then that it was spoiled. I'm sure I can easily take it back to show them to get a refund but I didn't want to drive back due to the long drive. Very disappointed with the meat but will let it slide this time. The market is organized and clean. I do like the workers who are very helpful and courteous. Dear Crest Foods Shoppers,   I never post or review any business publicly, but this is a dire matter that could cause SERIOUS HARM OR DEATH to anyone that doesn't know.   I have been a loyal customer to Crest Foods for the past several years, at least since they have opened a store in Norman, Oklahoma, and have never had one bad thing to say about them. I usually go about twice a week if not more and spend a lot of money shopping there. Until today. I will NEVER go back.   Tonight, I went into Crest Foods to buy more hamburger meat for a lasagna I was making for an upcoming dinner. I went into the meat section where I saw meat for a reduced price, and knowing that I would be cooking it immediately, I bought it. I understand the reason they sell meat at a reduced price, as there is not much time that it will come to expire. I have bought meat before that was in the reduced-price section and it has been fine, but tonight was a different story. When I opened the packaging that the meat was stored in, I immediately thought that it smelled different than normal. Thinking I was not smelling right, because Crest "would never" sell me spoiled meat, I browned it in a pan anyway. I gave it a taste and was revolted as soon as it hit my tongue. I instantly knew it was indeed spoiled and spit it out.   Frustrated, I stormed back to Crest, showed them the meat, told them I had bought it 3 hours prior, and told them to throw away the rest of the reduced-price meat because it could make someone seriously ill. The manager came to look at it and saw that it was sold at reduced price. She told me that "it is store policy that I am unable to do anything about this." I told her that I understood why their store policy was like that, but it is not right to sell spoiled meat to customers, reduced price or not. All I wanted them to do was throw out the spoiled meat so that no one would get sick or even worse, get poisoned. This is an important aspect when selling raw meat that anyone would know or understand.   I am extremely disappointed that Crest Foods in Norman, Oklahoma would disregard spoiled meat. For all I know, they would sell that spoiled meat to anyone else that would fall for it. They probably are still selling it to this exact date and time!  It is wrong on so many levels and could end up giving several people food poisoning if not killing them. How can a grocery store get away with selling poisonous meat? And then when it is brought to their attention, they do NOTHING about it?   I'll tell you what, that is the last time I am shopping and contributing to Crest Foods ever again. I don't want food poisoning and I REALLY don't want to be a part of a company that sells it honestly. If you feel the same, go elsewhere. read more

I am giving Crest just 1 star despite my overall experience there being more 4 star as we have been loyal customers since day 1 and have hope the current trends will correct and return the location to a must stop shop. The words ROCK BOTTOM prices don't tell me 'pretty good' they promise more than that so $3 minimum for a box of saltines or loaf of bread is absurd. Its nice they have frozen pizza on sale and Pepsi 2-liters 2-for-$3 but the past few months I buy my staple items elsewhere because Crest won't stock reasonably priced alternatives for many items. He appeared to be extremely filthy. I even wondered if maybe he was homeless. I won't be going back. Nice place to get groceries if you live in the area. We have several Crest stores that are closer to the house... however we were in the area and stopped by. Store was super clean and uncluttered. Staff was super friendly and items were in stock! I see this on a consistent basis throughout their family of stores. The prices were low and I will continue to shop with them for my grocery needs. Let's face it, not all Crest's are created equal. I've been to locally owned grocery stores in other cities and it's the same way. If the location is in a higher SES area, the stores has better produce and more variety of items. That said, this Crest has good produce and a variety of items, along with some other nice features: -Everything about the building is new -Decent discounts on the items I want to buy -Plenty of space in the aisles -Good bakery / deli / seafood sections -There's always a staff person available for assistance, if needed -They have things in stock -Their refrigerators are new and shiny -Good parking This is my favorite Crest in the OKC metro area. This is a really great Crest that we like to stop at when we're in Norman. It's much larger than the one by our house and this one offers so much more variety! They have a larger bakery, deli, specialty cheese areas, the meat and seafood sections are also larger and offer a better variety. They also have a sushi section, nail salon, bank, florist and more! The aisles are so wide (4 or 5 cart widths of space instead of 1 or 2 like most stores) which is so nice and makes shopping more enjoyable. The store is clean and the employees are friendly. We love this Crest location, when compared to our location near the town we live. The store is clean, and the staff is helpful. They have a bigger selection of products. The one by my house can get a little rough at times. The meat department is impressive. They always have the popular cuts needed around certain holidays. The prices are reasonable for products. Sadly, my experience with the Crest bakery was not very good. I ordered the cutest cake two days in advance to be freshly made. The girl that was working demonstrated horrible customer service skills, she was lazily leaning on the counter and acted like she didn't want to help not to mention was not very knowledgeable about the products. When I came to pick up the cake she forgot to put the price on it which caused an another issue when I was attempting to check out. The cake is super cute but doesn't taste fresh at all. Bad Actor! We returned a frozen Hen Chicken today at 6:30am at the Norman store because it was So old we could not get a knife through it! The asst meat manager and the returns counter was very rude to my wife! Very bad attitude! They acted like the $10 was coming out of their wallet! I have spent over $300 in Crest over the last 7 days because they are open early. Your staff should be schooled on how to treat people kindly, especially when we are in this Pandemic mess we are in currently! A definite step up from your average Walmart. They have all the fresh, organic produce a Whole Foods or Sprouts would have. I'd compare it to a Tom Thumb or Winn Dixie. Don't expect all the non grocery items a Target has though. They have wide lit aisles and lots of options when it comes to food. There's also a salad bar, a butcher area, a bakery, and a huge selection of cheeses to pair with that perfect bottle of wine. Probably my favorite grocery in the Norman, OK area. read more

Aside from the store having a great selection, the cashiers suck! The sackers are no better. After today I will not be back to this location. I bought a slice of cake. The sacker placed it in a bag and stood the bag up so the cake fell over and the icing was stuck all over the container. Amy L., Cashier #127, was the worst cashier I have ever had, at any Crest. She would not turn the belt off and crushed a lot of what I purchased. I asked her to turn it off, but she looked at me and kept on. She didn't say hello, thank you, good bye, or anything. Ok paid $15.00! Per pound for Prime Standing rib roast for Christmas Day! The meat had no flavor at all, 1/3 of roast was fat I had to cut out of roast. Not marbling mind you, FAT! It's hard to rate a grocery store when you're from western New York and you've grown up with Wegmans. My friend who lives in Norman wanted me to check it out and see how it compares. Well... It doesn't really. So I won't base it on that. The parking lot is Huge. I am not sure how many people they anticipate shopping at one time, but it should be big enough to handle any of the crowds. When you walk in, it's open and spacious. It is very bright, something I don't love about a grocery store. But, it doesn't smell bad, and that's a plus. The produce section is large and has a large variety of foods. Most of the produce I inspected was fresh and the prices were reasonable. The cheese section however, was not. I do have to say that I prefer the cheese selection at Homeland down the street. The painted walls behind the cheese/deli/meat departments are off-putting, but I'm not there to view art, so I guess I can deal with that. There is a salon up front, which is something I still can't get used to. It's more like Walmart, and I don't think I really like that. Varied selection, spacious aisles, and a good produce section make this rating a three. But it still can't compare to my beloved Wegmans, and I don't think it ever will. I'm sure most people in Norman aren't from New York, and they may not know what they're missing - so with that I'd have to say this will be a decent grocery store. read more

Produce is usually better here than other places, which is why I come - but I must say the bakery department leaves me wanting...big time! Do not go to Crest if you use your EBT card. The cashiers treat you like you are a second class citizen because you have to use the card. I will name names...Cashier Josh H. He refused to even speak to my husband who was trying to make polite conversation. He grunted and turned aside. My husband got the point well enough and stopped speaking. It's our first time using the card and it was the most unpleasant experience. My husband had difficulty making the card work. The manager, Gary Tiedke helped. He was pleasant. We adopted a little boy recently. We are elderly and the state gave us the EBT card to help out with food. I think it speaks for itself, that people judge such things just because they are fortunate enough to have a job right now. I am 74 and I still work to help support our family. So I've been shopping here for almost a decade now, and I always grab my groceries late at night. Some of the cashier's and managers know me! I've been using the same reusable tote bag for god knows how many years now. It's just a more viable options than grabbing dirty carts and flimsy paper bags. I went to grab some groceries tonight and this new security guy walks up to me and starts talking shit like we're in a street argument and goes on whispering to the associates to keep an eye on me and my tote bag as I'm shopping. Out of self respect and to control my anger I empty my bag and leave. Funny thing is I wanted to notify a manager about how unprofessional it was and as she saw me she thought I was gonna grab my usual camel blues so she started to go for the tobacco stand, that's how much of a regular I was here lol Key word being "was". I'm unfortunately not going back to this store. I do my shopping late at night to not deal with daytime crowd headaches and I sure don't need some rude amateur to look over my shoulder when I'm picking muffins. Asked bakery to create large number of bread "soup bowls" for school function. The bowls were made to order (cut perfectly, ready on time, tasted great, and the bread bowls were a huge hit with the crowd! Wonderful job!!! The bakers were a joy to work with and the prices were very competitive!! We could not have been able to do the function except for Crest. Not one other company was as easy to work with or as competitive... I called and compared all over OKC and Norman! I shop here regularly. I use the self-checkout. It's great. I bag my things the way I like and the Crest employee is always friendly and helpful if I make a mistake. The store is always clean and bright. Plus, it is open 365 days a year 24 hours a day. You can't beat that for service. I read some of the negative reviews. Never, ever my experience shopping here since Crest 24th Street Norman opened.
