I needed a cake for my daughter who is at OU, it was my first time not baking her birthday cake - but Deborah told me no worries she would make it with all the "mom love" she could! They delivered to the dorm and surprised my daughter! My daughter said her and her friends were amazed how beautiful and delicious the cake was! Another year later and we order another cake...once again we weren't disappointed! All OU parents looking for birthday cakes for their kids should order here! Ms. Debra totally delivered on my whole order!! She did an outstanding job on the quality of taste and design for my son's 5th Lego birthday party. I ordered an 8x8 Lego cake, 2 dozen small cupcakes, and 2 dozen personalized Lego cookies. Not only did they look great, they also tasted great! We wanted a specialty cake for a birthday. I contacted a few local places, and without question Fancy Cakes was quick to respond and every conversation made me feel like they were people that i would like doing business with. Of course the business they are in is a very personal one and I can say they were 100% up to the high expectations. I submitted 3 ideas and let them know priority #1 was a yummy cake that would be as good to eat as it was to look at. They offered to do any of the 3 and promised it would be delicious, even suggested we could combine the designs. We chose one and it looked amazing! Very well packaged, and absolutely great cake to eat. In a word. Professional. Being a custom cake serving 16+ when I saw the price before ordering (and the pictures from their website) my expectation was high. The only thing that I would do differently would have been to leave a tip for great service. read more

This is, by far, the best bakery in the Norman area. Every cupcake we've tried has been moist, delicious, and pretty. The owner has always been friendly and informative about her flavors. Came here on a whim after my daughters Gymboree class and got the Neapolitan cupcake. Cupcake was delicious and moist and prices were pretty comparable to other cupcake places in the area. I can't wait to come back and try the red velvet. So much for those New Years resolutions! read more

The person taking the order said that they would make extra special since they were in the military. This is extra special? Creepy and reminded me of Mr. Bill from Saturday Night Live. Dropped in on a whim to grab cupcakes with my nephew and they did not disappoint! The were delicious, moist and the frosting was awesome! We ate our cupcakes there, which I wasn't sure we were suppose to. There was a table but no napkins or forks. I had to ask for a napkin and they happily gave me one. I ordered a two tiered cake for my 21st birthday. I spent hours photoshopping an image of exactly what I wanted it to look like and I was very excited (since I had saved my money for a long time for this cake). Communication was very good up until the night of my party. I paid to have my cake delivered, but it was never delivered and I was never notified of any issues or even that the cake would not be delivered. It turns out they just forgot to deliver my cake! I was so disappointed and embarrassed because I had no cake at all and not even any notice to get another cake. I just hope this wouldn't happen on someone's wedding. When I went in to ask about it, the dark-haired lady who made the cake and failed to have it delivered was very sincere and apologetic, but the owner was incredibly rude to me and BLAMED ME for not calling to remind them!? People make mistakes, but because the owner was so incredibly rude to me, didn't offer me the cake, and was reluctant to give me my money back, I won't be a returning customer. read more

Bought a Cupcake Groupon to give this place a try. The selection was very poor and the Vanilla Cupcake tasted like NyQuil. Honestly Wal-Mart has more flavorable cupcakes. The lady who helped us was less than pleasant and rude. These cupcakes were the sweets for my son-in-laws birthday. What a disappointment, they totally dropped the ball. Two stars for beautiful work, with lacking consistency, and potential for COSTLY miscommunications. I placed an order for a pretty straightforward fondant cake and thought I was clear that I was looking for a fondant. I paid the deposit of 50% down, but when I went to pick it up it wasn't fondant and I was heart broken. Don't get me wrong the cake was SUPER cute, but my daughter was hoping for a fondant cake for her 8th birthday. I would never have paid that much for a butter cream cake even though it really was beautiful. Beauty aside, the texture of the cake was really spongy and I didn't care for it. I'm baffled at how such an important miscommunication could have been made! Had I known it was going to be buttercream, I could have gone across the parking lot to Sams and gotten a two tiered buttercream unicorn for a fraction of the price--and their cake is not at all spongy! read more
