I usually like Aldi, but I just had a very negative experience at the Norman location…read more It's a Tuesday morning and the line to checkout is wrapped around the store. At least 10 people waiting for one cashier, who has AirPods in and probably isn't paying attention. As the line is now blocking aisles, a worker tells me "you wanna" get out of the way? I get there might be a language barrier, but she was rude and oblivious to the fact that the cashier needed help. Maybe if there was a second cashier, the line wouldn't be snaking through the store. I also understand that they're reorganizing, but the store layout was drastically different than the last time I was here a few weeks ago. It made no sense at all, baking goods mixed in with housewares. Wine next to potato chips. It was hard to find anything. I probably would have spent much more if the aisles were organized better and the line wasn't so long. It felt like they just dumped items in random spots on the shelves. Aldi can do better. I hope this was just a fluke, which is why I'm giving two stars instead of one.

Aldi almost 3 times a week as it's close to my work and typically it's a good experience with…read morefriendly cashiers, quick in and out, never had an issue until today. I only had about five items and I put them in a small box that they provide and send it down the line And the cashier Anhminh(name on reciept)aggressively removes each item and scan them and then aggressively places them back in the box. He never greeted me and proceeds to say next time could you please take them out of the box and I'll put them back into the box, I then say sure not a problem as he finishes ringing me up I say thank you very much and he has no response whatsoever! It's people like this who make you not want to come back to the store, but I definitely will. That's why I love platforms like this to point out behaviors such as this man because although I will move on and have a great day, someone else may let little things like this linger so it's not really a small thing and needs to be brought to the light.

Homeland - Look for fruits packaged in "Misfits" packaging. It will save you big money.

The store looks terrible everytime we shop now. Went to use the restroom and it was so filthy. I…read morewent to inform the manager on duty and he (rudely) stated that it would not be cleaned at all that day dude to the person who does it being off that day. Are they not noticing these things? We used to love to shop here. The only reason we still do is because of the few friendly cashiers we encounter.

If I could give this a negative I would. We have lived in Ponca City for over 30 years. When we…read morecame here Albertsons owned this store. Great store, premium products, an actual meat market, good fresh produce and so on. After they moved out Food Pyramid came in. They were not quite as good, but kept good fresh produce, kept at least 1/2 the meat market and prices and selection were ok. We have not gone to Homeland in months. Why? They are a disaster. We went in today to get my wife's favorite ice cream. We will find it somewhere else now. Gone is the ENTIRE FRESH MEAT MARKET. No more imported fresh seafood, no more custom cut steaks, no more chicken by request and so on. Gone is the FRESH VEGETABLES. You want something - you may find it and you may not. Ergo - no red potatoes, no sweet onions, no fresh organic leafy vegatibles. Gone is a great selection of frozen meals for seniors. Want pizza - got plenty of that. Gone is the flower shop. Now this may not mean much to others, but we enjoyed looking at the flowers, maybe sending some to friends and so on. No choice now. Gone are many of the cashiers and day to day people. These have left for whatever reasons so we do not know anyone there now. Ok - I could go on with the "Gone" but let me simply say this. WalMart is better on ALL things now and cheaper. HOMELAND - since you are now supposed to be a low price discount in Ponca City and yet have higher prices than Walmart - SELL YOUR STORE to a chain that will bring back quality. I never thought I would see a chain store be worse than Walmart. I have now. HOMELAND YOU WIN THE BOTTOM OF THE BUCKET PRIZE!

Walk away full, but feeling flavorfully satisfied, guilt-free and healthy!…read more After a week of eating out for a conference in Norman( all tasty food mind you, mind you, but the kind of food that leaves feeling like "ahhh, I need to workout, purge, diet, fast, yadda, yoda, yedi!!!") I needed a break from the guilt! Not to mention, the older we get, successive ventures into the fried and fatty world of rich foods start to have a deleterious affect on my mood and mental sharpness as I feel more slugggish, bloated and "blechhy" by day 4 of my id locking up my superego in a basement closet. So, I opted out for going to a brewery with a co-worker and instead suggested this place which had some good reviews already and also the kind of menu that your heart and soul (as well as your guilt-muscle) can all smile about and relax. It is close the OU campus and is on a side street in the most literal sense that you pull in to the 4 space lot with your bumper inches away from the main road. Safe, but close. Street parking appears to be the alternative. We got lucky as it was late on a weekday (they close at 8) and found parking. It used to be a health food grocery store only but added a kitchen not too long ago after having success with another eat-in store on the OU campus. It is narrow, self-(and limited seating with pub-style ordering from counter where you fine their menu. The menu is laminated 10x14 I think, 2 sides including drinks so their menu is ample enough that you could find anything hot or cold, liquid or solid. The have shakes and juices made-to-order as well as a variety of deli and finger food options. Since it would be my last night in Oklahoma I tried several things to share and ended up eating them all. I had a beet, carrot and spinach juice (your choice of 8 or 16 oz)-- ahhhhhhh. There is nothing added so if you are not into juices, you will taste what ingredients you add and I love beets! While there are many vegetarian and vegan options they do include some meat. I had the bowl of veggie chili which was a hearty rendition with several types of beans, carrots and corn. It was not bland but had spices that gave it an addictive flavor. They also had a creamy soup that I declined.I also had the hummus which appeared to be white bean and was chunky as well as creamy but altogether with a mild flavor that did not conflict with the chili. I opted for carrots vs. corn chips but they do offer tortilla chips for their "build-your-own nachos" part of the menu. From the sandwich section I picked a tuna salad (that had dolphin-safe tuna and not a substitute) but I did get a taste of the not-really-chicken chicken salad and that was good too. In addition to a variety of groceries and desserts to purchase and take home they sell fresh bread. I had a slice of the 3-seed bread and it made me want to stuff myself by ordering another sandwich just so I could put anything between two pieces of their fresh bread. They had 4 kinds of bread including a honey wheat and 2 vegan offerings but I selected their 4th choice which was the 3-seed (chia, sunflower and pumpkin maybe??) My only regret was knowing that I would not be able to return until I made the trip from the east coast to Norman, Oklahoma...but it does give me a big reason to return :)
