Extremely Unprofessional Service and Dishonest Billing Practices I had a very disappointing experience at this establishment. I ordered an asada burrito and asked to add shrimp--at no point was I informed that there would be an additional $8 charge for this. When we received the receipt and noticed the charge, we questioned the waitress. Her response was shockingly rude and unprofessional. Although she begrudgingly admitted it was her mistake, she told us there was nothing she could do about the charge and claimed, "even if only one piece of shrimp is added, the $8 charge still applies." To make matters worse, when we asked to speak with a manager, we were told there wasn't one available--another red flag about how the business is run. She insisted she didn't have the clearance to adjust the bill. Only after we asked to speak to another staff member did someone step in and reduce the charge from $8 to $4, which clearly contradicts the claim that the charge was unchangeable. It took 20 minutes to sort this out. Additionally, we were a party of 5, yet an 18% gratuity was automatically added, even though the menu clearly states it applies to parties of 6 or more. Between the lack of transparency, unprofessional conduct, and dishonest billing, I will absolutely not be returning. I went there on a Sunday and put my name on the list. The busboy then comes up to ask me my name and I tell him and ask him how long is the wait. His response was "I don't know but people are so impatient nowadays. How am I supposed to know ? I just work here. They don't know how customer service works. I can't rush people out of their seats. This was my first visit to Crest Cafe, and unfortunately, it was not a good experience. From the beginning, our server, Eva, came across as rude. We simply asked if it was possible to make chocolate chip waffles, since they offer chocolate chip pancakes. Eva paused for a moment and then abruptly said no, adding that they could just sprinkle chocolate chips on top -- not exactly helpful or accommodating. I also ordered a cinnamon roll after seeing the large one on display when I first walked in. However, the one that was brought to the table was noticeably smaller, yet priced the same. That felt misleading and disappointing. Another couple was dining with us, and one of them ordered hash browns, which turned out to be more like mashed potatoes -- not what you'd expect or want from hash browns. Well for Starters, I Found Crest Cafe through a Tik Tok Video I came across on my Facebook Page. It was Joel Greene of Inland Empire Explorer doing a review of Crest Cafe. He was reviewing the Milan Crusted Chicken. It looked so Amazing and the way he was Describing it, it was Mouth Watering. I finally had the Opportunity to make it out to Crest Cafe. I don't live nearby so its a little Trek down the 60 Freeway and that can be a Daunting Task due to all the Construction going on. Traffic on 60 is a nightmare. Takes forever to get anywhere during the week. But any way I made it, and I had an Amazing Experience. For Starters the Waitress was so Amazing she was always Checking on me, and not in an Annoying way. All I can say is she did an Amazing Job. Very Friendly. Of Course I had to Order the Milan Crusted Chicken. It Came with a Side Salad which was Amazing in itself. Mixed Greens which I prefer over Romain and Iceberg Lettuce. Had a variety of toppings, also came with Homemade Blue Cheese Dressing. Back to the Milan Crusted Chicken. The Chicken was grilled perfectly, so Moist and the Breding was nice and flavorful, Dusted with Parmesan Cheese. The Sauce was like a Creamy Pink Sauce that had a Distinct Tomato Flavor, also Homemade it also came with Garlic Bread. Big Portion Size. So Amazing. The location for this restaurant is perfect the food is not real bad but not great the price for the ok food is outrageous. The door before you even go into the bathroom smells like sewage, there is a plumbing issue that needs to be fixed asap. The receipt did not have what we ordered or how much plates were...just the total. The water Ofelia brought out to us did not have ice, keep in mind we were outside in 80 degree weather. I have been living in the Canyon Crest area for over 10 yrs and not once had I tried this place. Why ? I don't know for some reason I thought it would be bad as pepitos was. Live locally and had never visited before but within one month we went twice, and both times were good experiences. The first was for breakfast - had the Chicken Fried Steak and Eggs and spouse got the Belgian Waffle with a side of Biscuits and Gravy. All the items were great. The food is delicious every time, we order the Banana Bomb French Toast and the Banana Nana Pancakes for breakfast and highly recommend both dishes. The portion sizes are perfect and very filling for an empty stomach. The only reason there is a three star review is due to the lack of customer service.
