I have never felt the need to write a review before...but the temptation was too much on this one I wouldn't say I go here a lot but consistently over the years. The service is nice and never really have a problem myself however I will say outside of this one situation the manager himself always seems rude, pushy, and NEVER smiles or says thank you or have a nice day..any of the usual. The rest of the staff on the other hand do. Today I went into this place to get a breakfast wrap. The guy before made a casual complaint to the manager about something he got charged for. The manager proceeded to move a display to download their phone app, which behind it was a small sign on one of the cash registers stating that the store was "now offering a 4% immediate discount on cash purchases. The customer complained about the sign being hidden and no mention was made when he went to pay. He then left, no issue. Well...me being curious, as I was paying I asked how long that policy was in effect. In my mind I've been coming for years and I almost always pay with credit card for convenience. The manager jumped in..who I wasn't talking to, and stated about 3 months. I calmly stated that I've been paying the same price for my food for the last 2+ years and no discount is being given for cash. They are basically just charging people for the credit card fees..mind you no credit card fees are that high for swiped cards so they are also adding a little off the top. To be clear, I run a business and I get, however disagree with, the justification of passing these fees onto the customer IF you are trying to lower costs. But don't lie about it and tell people they are getting a cash discount...mind you I didn't say this part. All I said after stating I've been paying the same price for years is, "thats not right". I then turned to leave. As I was walking out the door the manager screamed out "don't come back here". I turned, waved and said "Okay, I won't". No anger nothing...thats how you deal with customers??? Its laughable. I made a comment that I disagree with a policy and the immediate response is I'm banning you from buying here? lol. Bought a baker's dozen and was charger EXTRA for the 13th bagel. I asked the woman ringing me up why she was charging me extra for a baker's dozen includes 13 bagels and her response was that she thought I wanted it separate from the dozen. She then proceeded to charge me for the extra bagel when I made it very clear that I didn't want the 13th bagel to be "separate", refused to give me a recite at first but then handed me one 5 minutes later- which, as soon as the paper left her hand, she ran away into the back room. I've had ordered from them multiple times before and they have gotten my order wrong almost single time . I thought it was just a bad time and gave them another chance . Their bagels and appetizing are quite good, yet I always feel like I am getting ripped off here. Yesterday, I went to purchase 1/2 lb of nova, cream cheese and bagels and some other items. When the nova was weighed, it was on 3 sheets of oil soaked paper, and no deduction was made for the paper. When I questioned, I got a look. At more than $40/lb, it does make a difference. When I went to pay, I had coupon for 2 free bagels with 6, and 10% off from the local PTO discount card. The bagels stay fresh for a at least two days, so you should feel comfortable with buying a dozen for the weekend. They have a lot of fresh options like sliced fruit, homemade salads, deli meats and hot soups. There are also a bevy of hot food options as well. Their menu board is easy to navigate and pricing is right for the area. Seating is appropriate and they even offer a restroom for customers. They have an above average selection of beverages and they cater. Parking will always be a problem but there are municipal lots close by. During inclement weather navigating through the parking lot to the store may prove treacherous. Tread lightly... read more

Favorite Bagel Shop in Bergen County, Bar None! Their flagels are pretty tasty too! The line in the mornings, especially weekends indicates how popular this shop is, and I grew up on Cresskill's Bagels. My usual is any variety of their everything bagel/flagel, a Chocolate Raspberry Coffee, and something cold to drink. They have enlarged the shop, placed flatscreen tv's and generous seating for a morning sitdown. The staff has always been top notch, occasionally someone will have an off day, but not in a I won't come back ever experience. They keep the line moving as fast as the run through the orders. You can pay with cash or plastic. Their Tuna-Salad Bagel Sandwich is another favorite, although you will probably have to share it, UNLESS you are starving. It's definitely a kid-friendly place. The parking is on the street, and sometimes that's the biggest obstacle, waiting for a spot to open up while double parking, or looping around. I recommend this place, and if you don't mind the lines, the sometime parking insanity, their bagels are worth it! read more

Almost always gets my order wrong. Today I ordered egg and sausage sandwich on a plain bagel and they gave it to me on a raisin bagel. Who eats an egg sandwich on a raisin bagel! Ahhh the bagel store from my youth. I remember when bagels were 40 cents each. Now they are a dollar (still pretty reasonable). These are bagels they way they should be. You can't see day light through the hole in the center. They are soft on the inside and usually crispy on the outside. There is usually but not always a good level of toppings on the bagel, there is nothing worse than ordering an everything bagel and only having a few lone pieces of salt speckled on top. They also have plenty of other bagel store standard fare. They make good bacon egg and cheese bagels, have muffins that are pretty good. The service is usually pretty good too. They are fast and courteous, even at 9 am on a Saturday when there is always a line. I wish they would do a better job to anticipate the bagels that will sell fast. Just this weekend I went in and they said they were out of everything bagels at 10 AM on a Saturday. C'mon guys you know that those are going to be popular, how can you not be prepared for the demand? read more

The best whole wheat everything flagels around. Their coffee is....meh....but they make fresh juice so I don't care if I miss my coffee. They always have tons of people working behind the counter so the line moves. They also have an excellent salad bar and make awesome chopped salads with your choice of many toppings and dressings. I have been here about 6 times. Food is always pretty good. Last 2 visits I had the same server. Did not get his name but he works the front, was tall and a gold chain. 1st of the 2 visits I ordered 2 bagels with cream cheese and lox. But, ever since the pandemic, or maybe because I get there when they open; there is this guy who was very obnoxious. Today, I went in to buy two dozens of bagels. I could have left, but because this is one of the few bagel places that sell flagels; I decided to get three bagels and a flagel. I asked the man to toast it. Yes, I LOVE the bagels, most of the employees, and their food. What I don't love is being charged whatever THEY want, DESPITE what is written on their price list above the register. It was upsetting to watch the tall man behind the counter STILL not taking responsibility for a simple error. INSTEAD he decided to tell a woman to not speak so loud (even though only 3 patrons were inside), and then explain in a roundabout way that her item was under a different category, and the kicker, the charged price was even MORE than what he pointed to! Great selection of bagel but they will ALWAYS mix up your order. They never toast bagels when asked. If ordering bacon, egg, and cheese, you might get the cheese. But if you get the cheese, they will forget to add the bacon. They have NEVEr ever gotten the order correctly. Even if they write it down. Today was a new low, they gave me the incorrect change. I had the most heart breaking experience at this store today. An older woman was paying for her tuna salad and she was 41 cents short. The cashier was giving her a hard time and she offered to take some of the tuna salad out since she couldn't pay for it all and he was actually going to go and take some of her tuna salad out over 41 cents?! As a regular customer, if you're the type that enjoys going to a bagel store, never being greeted "hello," "goodbye," "thank you," or "you're welcome" this is the place for you. Their bagels are subpar and not nearly worth helping support a business with a staff that is as unpleasant as ever. Week after week I walk in to see a clerk, likely the manager (or owners son) in his late 30's with a belly and goatee. He's the worst. And after today's encounter I drew the line where I can gladly say they have lost my business permanently. They handed me the wrong bagel during payment. When I got home and noticed I drove back to exchange for the correct order. Mr. Goatee with belly's response after I explained their mistake..."okay, $2.74" being that I was charged marginally less for the incorrect order. When I questioned whether the extra $2 bucks would help keep their lights on, he turns his back and walked away to get his mommy. Mrs. Owner comes to greet me. I explained her son was sabotaging her business. Then Mr. Goatee begins to raise his voice to me explaining that the mistaken bagel exchange wasn't his fault. First off, they don't have curbside pick up. You still have to go inside this business to pick up your "curbside order". Second, they are not practicing proper social distancing in the store. Too many people were inside at once while I had to go inside to get my order. These bagels are not that impressive and I've been to other bagel stores that serve more meat on their sandwiches for the same price or less. Service, not so great. We ordered bagel sandwiches to be picked up for brunch on Mother's Day and I was at the store at the pick up time. When I realized my order wasn't ready, I also noticed they messed up another lady picking up her order and gave her something complimentary so I gave them a few extra minutes to get it together. I get it, mistakes happen. After waiting for 10 minutes, an employee finally acknowledged me and asked for my name and what was my order. I pull up my receipt that I paid for online and the man says when they're busy sometimes all receipts don't print out so they never made mine, but he'll have it ready in 5 minutes. I go outside and wait in my car for 7-8 minutes because I don't want to wait any longer than I have to in a shop full of people during a pandemic. When I come inside, still no sandwiches and I wait another few minutes. When they finally give me my sandwiches after this whole ordeal taking over 20 minutes, I was very upset that not one employee, out of the several behind the counter, had apologized once to me. I don't want to pull the race card, but maybe if I was a different race, like the lady before me who's order was also messed up (and also received a nice apology and free goods), maybe then would I have at the very least gotten an apology. A little customer service and all would have been forgiven and maybe I'd even come back, but never again. I remember coming here at 6 AM on Saturday mornings getting a lox bagel, eating half of it on my way to x-country meet and the other half after the race (as my reward). Coming back now, the bagels are a slight more expensive to keep up with inflation, the store is renovated and expanded, but the owners I think may still be the same? (at least the lady behind the counter looks familiar).
