a half eaten bagel

Service is far and efficient. But prices are nuts. $6 for a bagel with cream cheese. Lots of seating though so good spot.

Bacon, lettuce, tomato

I understand that inventory costs have increased considerably, but I think it's an inexcusable to serve a sandwich like this for over $7. For that price I would at least expect higher quality bacon but they serve very subpar bacon. Even the quality of Dunkin' Donuts bacon rivals the quality of Cresskill Hot Bagels' bacon. I just don't understand how a bacon, egg and cheese costs $2 less than a bacon, lettuce, and tomato yet has the same amount of bacon and costs more to make.

Now I get it that you have to adjust prices due to the current events. But $5.35 for a bacon egg and cheese on a mini bagel only to be outdone by paying for a bagel with butter but there's no butter.

Today I went to this place for breakfast/ brunch…read more I ordered a Farmhouse Cafe Breakfast with bacon and sourdough bread. I wanted something sweet too and I ordered a Red Velvet cake. I chose breakfast with scrambled eggs and it comes in a combo with coffee. I also chose the homestyle potatoes and everything was delicious and very well served. In fact, I had to bring half of everything to my house The house coffee here is very very good; I ordered 2% milk, but they only handle Skim , which is fine. And they also have brown sugar... yeiii!!! Customer Service is always excellent. My waitress was very friendly and very attentive. She remembered me...They are always aware of customers; respectful and very polite. The place is always very clean and super well decorated. You feel the place cozy, I really like coming here and I will continue to do so. Congratulations again, and God bless you!!!

Ordered wings and a gyro dish--the gyro was excellent, while the wings were tasty but slightly chilly and a bit dry. Not bad, but not the best. That said, I frequently order their salads to go and always enjoy them. The kitchen staff could use some additional training, as a nearby table complained about their order. The younger staff members were very attentive and hardworking--perhaps they just need a bit more guidance. Overall, it's a solid spot in town with plenty of seating and a BYOB option. While I personally prefer the Westwood location for its atmosphere, this one is convenient and charming, with both indoor and outdoor seating and ample parking.

Great food and happy hour French elegance…read more Great service We enjoyed sitting in the bar area , just great For a fast bite

Had an early Valentine's Day dinner with the wife the day before Valentine's Day. Brasserie Memere…read moreis an upscale French restaurant located in the Target plaza of Closter. The lighting is dim, the ambiance is intimate, and it looks romantic. I had made reservations so we were seated immediately. It's funny to note that the place settings were placed next to each other instead of across from each other at a four person table. We usually prefer to face each other, but when it's Valentine's day why not be cute? We ordered a few drinks during our dinner, the Sugar Plum Fairy, Memere 75, Avion en papier. My favorite was definitely the Avion en papier which had a slightly sweet, slightly bitter, citrusy taste. They had a pre fixe menu for Valentine's Day which unfortunately did not have the steak tartare i was interested in trying. But for $88, you get 3 courses: an appetizer, entree, and dessert. For our appetizers, we got the TARTARE DE THON (tuna tartare) and COCKTAIL DE CREVETTES GEANTES (shirmp cocktail). Between the two, i preferred the tuna tartare. The shrimp cocktail was good, but the only thing really special about it was the massive size of the shrimp and the freshly grated horseradish in the cocktail sauce. For our entrees, we got the CASSOULET DE CANARD and FILET MIGNON. The extremely tender duck leg confit was served with pancetta, white beans, toulouse sausage, and foie gras breadcrumb. It was rich, savory, fatty, and filling. All great words to describe food. The duck leg confit reminded me a little bit of a smoked turkey leg with the red coloring and shreddable texture. The filet mignon was served with pomme purée, wild mushrooms, and a bordelaise sauce. The filet was cooked medium rare as requested, but a bit under salted. The pomme purée aka mashed potatoes tasted like it was 50% butter so it was obviously delicious. Dessert was good, but my least favorite part of the meal. We got the TAHITIAN VANILLA CRÈME BRÛLÉE and the VALRHONA CHOCOLAT POT AU CRÈME. Both were very sweet. The brûlée crust did not shatter well, but it otherwise had a nice creamy texture. The chocolate pot was covered in flaky feuilletine which gave a nice contrast to the creamy chocolate, but my wife found the brandied cherries overpowering. The cherries made me think of German chocolate cake. Service was excellent. Staff was quick to refill water and checked on us constantly. Pace of the meal was relaxed and I'd even say they were slow to bring us the check since we had been dining for over 2 hours. My wife wants me to bring her back for their bottomless brunch on a Sunday so I will eventually be back.

We were the only customers dining in but there was a steady line of people picking up food to-go. Service was very friendly and the food was great. I got the French Dip Au Jus and my girlfriend got the Brasserie Burger with mushrooms and Swiss cheese (cooked medium). My niece is 20 months old so we just decided we'd let her have some bites of our food. The food took a little bit to come out, but I guess that means it really is made to order. I started off with the French Dip and it had a decent amount of meat on it. The bread was nicely toasted and the Jus was super flavorful. My niece actually liked it a lot and dipped her french fries in it. Even without the Jus the sandwich meat was moist and flavorful while the bread did a good job of soaking up the juices and adding crunch. The burger was also surprisingly good. The patty was actually cooked to medium so it was also juicy and flavorful. Mushroom and swiss is an undefeated combo on burgers provided the meat is good, and in this case the meat was quite good. Both entrees came with some fries and greens which were average. We also had black coffee with our food which was pretty good. It's on the pricier side, but it seems to be reflected in the quality of the food. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this spontaneous meal. I would certainly come back.

My wife had the grilled chicken sandwich. Sadly it was lacking seasoning and flavor. We got her a little oil and vinegar on the side to salvage it. She did love the fries and bread as well. Most surprising, we got French onion soup and it had zero flavor. It's pretty hard to mess up French onion soup, even more weird being in a French restaurant. Hopefully it was just an off day where they forgot to add a few ingredients. Either way stick to the French dip if you check out the place and you can't go wrong. Brasserie - Au revoir!

I really wanted to enjoy the place, as I've had other friends frequent it. From the inception of the restaurant, they've had "pastrami" as the highlight. I really wanted that. They didn't have it. I told them the rest of my family's order and to come back afterwards so I can find something else. Decided on some chili as it was a cold day. They didn't have that either. I gave up and just didn't order anything for myself. Every thing came out bland. We didn't ask for no salt or lower sodium. Either way the cute little salt shaker visited a lot. At the price point that they have, I really was expecting something. The disco fries were scarce. I can basically count how many there were. As well as not knowing what kind of gravy it included on the side. The chicken tenders were bland, but at least the chicken was tender and the coating was crispy. Strawberry pancakes were fluffy and good on the first bite, but if left cold, it just became hard. The strawberry butter was a really nice touch and I enjoyed it. Too much strawberry for me, but will not lower the score for that. That's just my preference of taste. The mac and cheese was soupy and not thick, and again no seasoning. Cheeseburger was okay, didn't wow us. Also could not figure out if it was house made or not. It was lean, somewhat juicy, but it was a little tough. Wasn't horrible. What I found interesting was with the amount of fries that came with our order, they all came out differently. The disco fries were crispy, fries that came with the mac and cheese were over done, and the cheeseburger fries were a mixture of crispy, soggy and overdone. But one commonality with all the fries was how bland it was. Anyway, between the pricing and not having two things that I ordered, was just enough to put me in a sour mood.

Not enough words can describe the amazing food here…read more I didn't know what to expect when stumbling into Country MKT diner, and you shouldn't too. Take those expectations and throw them out the window, and open your taste buds and mind to new flavors to homemade dishes that will blow you away. I heavily recommend the mozzarella sticks which are more like bricks of cheese dipped in seasoned coatings that will make other mozzarella sticks think of a new name when these melt in your mouth and pull apart perfectly. The homerun of a sandwich is the Bun Jovi which is a honey Sriracha chicken schnitzel slathered with swiss cheese, pickles, pastrami, and coleslaw. And this dream of a sandwich delivers. The blue seating booths make the diner fun , with high backs they provide comfort and some privacy to your conversations. The staff is beyond freindly and each make sure you are having the best dining experience. To many positives about Country MKT Dinner to name, but each will create a core memory.
