A hit for a fast casual meal! Even though we stepped in midday, there was still a decent selection of bagels in the display case. I ordered the Santa Fe egg white sandwiches, which came on one of their aptly named 'Asiago thintastic' bagels. When toasted, it was crackly on the outside with a distinct aged cheese flavor. It supposedly comes with roasted tomato salsa and spicy jalapeño salsa cream cheese; I don't know if I saw those distinct additions, but there was a zingy schmear of something that tasted like pimiento cheese that added incredible flavor. They were also perfectly amenable to my request to swap out the turkey sausage with a standard sausage patty. My husband opted for their healthier options. The Avocado Egg white sandwich, which comes with lettuce, tomato, avocado, and a fold of egg whites, was also delicious. Our order only took minutes, but everything was hot and fresh and I especially loved how melty the cheese in our sandwiches got. The name suggests they specialize in bagels and breakfast sandwiches, but there's a fair spread of hot sandwiches on the menu as well. There's plenty of seating inside this cavernous dining room, with both counters and tall stools by the windows or two- and four-top tables throughout. Bathrooms are also available at the very rear of the restaurant. I have been visiting Manhattan Bagel regularly now for about a year. They are one of my favored local breakfast spots. The service is always friendly, and my order correct. There is enough space for quite a few diners. So much so, I never feel cramped at whichever table I choose. Most recently, I had their BLT. It is a filling sandwich, but maybe not always as balanced as I'd like (could use more B), that comes with a bag of chips. Perfect for when I want something other than a bagel. Followed is a draft review from months ago, that I completely neglected to publish... I've come here pretty much every morning this week. While I previously sampled more of their menu, what I get is pretty simple, especially compared to what they have on offer. I get a plain bagel with scallion cream cheese and a drink. My drink order has ranged from an iced coffee to one of their 'Chillerz' frozen drinks. The scallion cream cheese is literally bursting with flavor! Each bite has juicy slivers of green onion. The spread being so rich in flavor is why I get it on a plain bagel, anything else would be overwhelming. The ice coffee is a self service situation. The brew is strong and occasionally slightly bitter. I combat that with half & half and some sugar/stevia. I've had the Frozen Caffe Caramel and Wildberry smoothie from the Chillerz menu. One of my favorite places to order lunch from. My go-to order is a bacon egg and cheese on an everything bagel, a hash brown, and a wildberry smoothie. Their yogurt parfait is delicious as are their cookies. My only complaint is that they don't cook their hashbrown patty enough. It's always underdone and soggy. Because this is a local establishment, I always try to give the benefit of the doubt...this is the 3rd time with issues. The second to last time that I ordered they literally forgot my online order, which I gave an extra amount of time to pick up. Once I went to pick up, the owner came and said "the order had been ''mistakenly' canceled by an employee, however no-one let me know. This time, as I have done in the past I ordered and paid for extra portion of an item. Normally it's added on the side, in an a container, so that you can add however it wasn't. Upon calling the owner stated that it was added directly, but it wasn't. I am very disappointed in this establishment as the quality of the food is declining and so is the service. read more

I don't know why I keep giving this place a chance! I just came in for a sandwich that is being promoted on their window and they don't even have the bagel the sandwich comes with! Then I asked for a bacon cheesy roll, they said they don't have it either (with an attitude) and finally I said just give me a bacon, egg and cheese on an Asiago bagel. Before I left, something told me to check my order. They put some white cheese on my sandwich without even telling me because they didn't have yellow American. If you are out of cheese, communicate with your costumer before even trying to put anything on their sandwich. What a disgrace! Then when I asked for a refund, I got more attitude and had to wait for my money. The guy in the front who I believe is the manager provides horrible costumer service. What a shame! He didn't even put the money in my hands, he just put it on the counter like the animal he is. So sad, never returning again. Came here with my wife to get us some green bagels for St. Paddy's day. My wife got the green bagel with tuna salad, onions and tomatoes. I got Lox (smoked salmon) with tomatoes and onions. These bagels came with a sliced pickle and macaroni salad. The bagels were delicious fresh tuna and tasty lox, the pickle was crispy but the macaroni salad was full of mayonnaise, that's all I tasted...mayo. First time at this place as the one I used to frequent up the street has closed. Any time you are asked if you want your bagel toasted is a bad sign. Really good, truly "Manhattan" bagels do not need to be toasted. They are crunchy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside. The bagels being sold at this place are nowhere near that standard. I ordered a poppy seed with Lox Spread, and a chocolate milk. $7.25. Yikes! The bagel was soft and chewy. Lackluster with no crunchy exterior. It looked like it did not finish cooking. A quick smear of Lox Spread, minimal at best finished this sandwich. The ordering process is chaotic, and I had to wait while another cashier had to make and give me my change. These are mediocre bagels at best. Folks raving about the them have never enjoyed a truly excellent bagel. There are much better bagels to be had locally. Teaneck Hot to name just one. First off as a New Yorker I'm insulted that the word Manhattan is even in their name. This place is a poor man's bagel. It's terrible. They ALWAYS mess up my order, there have been multiple times I've reported an allergy to items and they still put it in the food. I also have had times where they make up the order for you. Stopped in here with my husband before he went to work. This is infinitely better than the Bayonne location. I had a blueberry bagel and it was good. He had an orange cranberry muffin and enjoyed it. Neither of us liked our drinks. I had coffee (meh) and he had a hot chocolate. Not our favorites. The counter staff are efficient. Things were kept moving. Stopped here yesterday for some breakfast and I normally don't do chain bagel places but the Manhattan bagel by my job is decent so I'm giving this one a shot. I'm going to keep this one short and sweet for a change, maybe lol I got a Taylor ham egg and cheese and it tasted fine but I asked for salt pepper and ketchup and got nothing, as well as strawberry cream cheese which costs six dollars to get home and realize it wasn't there. I also got a dozen bagels, small, not that tasty. It's fine if you're on go and need a cup of coffee or a quick bite but save your money and find a mom and pop bagel shop if you have the option! Having spent close to seven years working in Manhattan, I never found a good bagel shop by my standards. Now, that's not to suggest that they don't exist, and I certainly didn't put too much effort into finding one. That said, you can imagine my surprise when I saw a bagel store take on the Manhattan name. I walked in to find a nice, welcoming environment. The store was spacious, remarkably clean, and had a bit of a premium feel to it, especially when compared to most bagel shops. There was no denying that this was a corporate, chain style restaurant. First things first: the bagels. This is a bagel shop after all! Unfortunately, the bagels did not look very appetizing. They had a flat, packaged supermarket brand look to them (hard to describe but imagine a donut with a larger radius). In all fairness, they did look like the bagels I used to find in Manhattan, so at least the name is appropriate. I was so disappointed I didn't even but one. Instead, I had a breakfast omelette wrap. 3 eggs, cheese, and a choice of meat in a wrap. The wrap was pretty big, and they definitely did not skimp out on the meat or cheesy. I was actually full after the first half! Extra kudos: this was the easiest breakfast sandwich I've ever eaten while driving. Additional praise goes out to the team working there. The service was prompt, attentive, and very friendly. Manhattan Bagel is a nice addition for the breakfast or lunch crowd. The menu has a number of options, and everything looked pretty good. If this weren't a bagel store by name, I'd probably give them a higher rating. But, a bagel place without great bagels: I just can't do it. read more

Our favorite place to grab quick breakfast/lunch. First the workers are really friendly and cheerful. I think some of them are the owners? The place is bright, clean and welcoming. There's a large flat screen to catch up on the news. We often bring the baby and there is plenty of room to roll our monster stroller in. Love their ranchero wrap. Eggs are fluffy and bountiful. Ordered from here yesterday looking for a good light lunch. I ordered the Thintastic Turkey with american cheese, lettuce, onion and mayo. The sandwich came toasted and had a nice texture to it when you took a bite. It usually comes with veggie cream cheese spread but I opted out of that and added the american cheese and mayo. My favorite thing about the meal was the pickle that comes with it. Its one of those really tasty deli pickles that leave you craving more. Unfortunately I forgot to get Bagels in the city, so I was crawling around looking for a decent bagel place to try outside the city. I ended up here, and though I'm no bagel connoisseur, they definitely weren't the BEST bagels I've had. They have a small selection of cream cheeses to choose from, I chose the Lox which was pretty good. I tried their Everything bagel and French Toast. The everything bagel was pretty standard, and the french toast was pretty much french toast and fairly sweet, almost to the point of being a very dense donut.
