Food was ok. Cleanliness is another story all together. The bathroom was a complete turnoff, it clearly hasn't been cleaned in a while, possibly 10 days or so. I think we have found our new place for take out Chinese. No more Lin's China diner as a result of repeatedly bad service, not for the food. Ordered for the first time last night. My husband ordered the honey walnut shrimp and beef chow mein. I had the hot and sour soup and the egg fried rice. It was kinda quirky calling in because the first couple of times I called the phone number listed on the website for the Plano location, no one answered. I then accessed Crescent Moon's twitter page and located another number. I called that number and the owner answered. He stated the number was his cell phone. He mentioned he was in the Richardson store and I told him no one is answering the phone at the Plano location. He took my order and mentioned that he would contact the Plano store to take care of our order. The food was really fresh, tasty and they were very generous with the portions. My husband's shrimp were plump, fresh looking and large. It's a little more expensive than your run of the mill Chinese places, but according to their website, their meats are organic and naturally raised and they do not use MSG. read more

This is our second time here. I don't like the place because of our first visit during which the server kept bringing stuff even after we stopped him. The food quality was also something that was not good. When we mentioned to the server, he didn't even say sorry so I don't like this place. Today, my wife wanted to come here so we did. She ordered and we came in and I tried chicken soup which had tofu in it. I don't like it so asked the server if they had soup without tofu and all he said was "we don't as we make it ahead of time so we can't change it". He didn't even offer a sorry only for customer service etiquettes. He did bring chicken corn soup but never asked me if I wanted that. Needless to say I didn't try it. I asked the guy for drink and promptly brought one half filled and never checked for a refill. Once done with food, I asked him for some napkins or tissues (which he has only brought one originally) and along with tissues, he brought the check. There were only two tables being served in a setting of about twenty. It was the worst ever restaurant experience ever and no way in hell I'm going back. Pathetic!!! read more

There was a little chaos whilst trying to seat ourselves, but after we were seated , our experience went uphill. We ordered spicy chicken wings and egg drop soup. The apps came out smoking hot. I mean as fresh as could be. The steam escaped my mouth as I bit into a juicy chicken wing. I became so excited that some spice went into my trachea and I started coughing like a mad woman. I felt like a dragon was breathing into my lungs and my eyes started to roll like in The Exorcist. After I recovered from my near - asphyxiation experience , I twiddled my thumbs in anticipation of my main meal. My fiancé and I summoned chicken flat noodles and orange chicken from the menu. I ate with sheer delight and enthusiasm. I allowed the delicious grease to coat my lips and I slurped up the delicious noodles. Food portion is good but the beef smelt, and there wasn't any authentic taste to anything i ordered, Tasteless, smelly and just a whole lot of spice. Really enjoy the food and the family atmosphere here. They have nice large rooms you can reserve free of charge (2 adjacent rooms). Which are perfect for family celebrations. Not to mention the food is awesome for halal Chinese food standards in Plano! It is a little on the pricier side but I always try to maintain a perspective of judging bang for buck. Typically, every time i have visited here I feel more than satisfied. Of course if you go during rush hours you may have a bad experience, as with any business. But that is expected. I give this restaurant 5 stars for the food quality and contributions to the local Muslim community. read more

Very mediocre Chinese Food in a neighborhood with great Chinese Food. The draw here is for people who eat Halal meat, I would imagine their choices for Chinese food are very limited. My co-worker suggested this Chinese restaurant, bc of their halal food. The food was so good! Everything tasted fresh, and not too oily. I was a big fan! The hot & sour soup was probably the best ive had, compared to PF Changs (too sour), and even the chinese restaurants in Richardson. We also ordered the beef chow mein, moo shu chicken, and crispy half chicken. Everything was tasty, no msg, and not oily. Still caters to American Chinese taste, but at least it's halal, so that afterwards you don't feel tired and gross. Big fan! Will definitely come again. read more

Great family restaurant, have had a couple of family gatherings of 15+ people and they always catered it great! The food is pure quality and the service is great. The prices may be a little expensive but hey its a family restaurant not which you go to with a friend casually (know what I mean?). I guess the only improvement they could make is the noise, if you're sitting near the counter you can literally hear the chef YELLING at something idek there's always someone yelling at someone inside and it kinda gets uncomfortable when you're trying to eat and you keep hearing people yelling. The restaurant is not fancy, but it is very clean. The owner is very friendly. The food portions were big. We ordered three types of shrimp and one type of lamb. All were tasty, lots of meat in the portions. For some reasons, we cannot eat oyster sauce in our food. The owner and the chef agreed to make a brown sauce for us specially without the oyster sauce. The owner warned us that the taste will not be original, and we accepted. But to us, the taste was still very good. We would like to go there again. read more

I had lunch here with my family and ordered a few dishes family style. We started off with some spring rolls of chicken and vegetable filling. The rolls were filled with your generic cabbage and carrots mixture with miniscule amounts of minced chicken. The rolls were pretty oily and bland in taste. Our main course consisted of the house special spicy fried rice with beef. The beef in the rice had a strange smell to it so we sent it back. We opted for the chicken fried rice instead, two orders of their honey walnut prawns, and an order of the sesame chicken. The honey walnut "prawns" were actually regular shrimp. The dish is decent, but overly sweet as it's garnished with candied walnuts and some white sauce that I thought was condensed milk. The sesame chicken was okay as well. This restaurant is average at best. The only thing that sets this restaurant apart is the fact that they serve halal food. read more

This place is next to my house and is my go to for quick chinese food. This place is always crowded since it is next to a mosque. I always have the Mongolian Beef. My wife orders the Shrimp Fried Rice or the Singapore Rice Noodle dish. Do not order any of the soups. They are bland. The egg drop soup I have ordered it twice and it has absolutely no flavor. 1/2 star taken off for bad soup and 1/2 star taken off for small overcrowded ambiance. If you are there between 8 and 10pm you are better off taking your food to go because of the place being slammed with people from the mosque next door. read more

Great tastings fresh food. only reason I did not give it a 5 star is because there were a few times I called in to pick up my order and they said that option was not available at that time. Besides that the food was always fresh and always great portion sizes. I would usually share my dinner with both of my kids and have enough left over for lunch the next day. I'm sorry but I didn't have a good experience here. While the staff is certainly helpful and friendly, the food is not up to par. I didn't have too much of a problem with the Mongolian beef, the chicken dishes were not good. The fried chicken dumplings had an off-taste but very little flavor otherwise. Long post below: PROS: We came at 6PM on a Saturday. The restaurant was empty and we received our food quickly. The restaurant was relatively clean. The price and portion of the food was decent. CONS: The server (Asian) came to take our order without a notepad. We put in 6 dishes for our order. All of which he got wrong when repeating. When we received the food. Our wings appetizer was wrong. We ordered spicy but received standard variety. On to the food. Everything was oily. To the point where you can legitimately squeeze the oils from the food. It was totally tasteless and bland. Definitely not authentic. Definitely not Chinease. The food seemed to be basically refrigerated and thrown in the deep frier. Furthermore, the waiter insisted on wanting tips. For which I rightfully felt he did not deserve. He waiting on us in the same fashion a cashier does their job. He did not do anything extra and his demeanor was not inviting. I wouldn't tip a cashier unless they helped me with baggage. I would recommend that you avoid this place until they get new management and better chefs - if they can be called that. Maybe it was a bad day. However I doubt based on how they made the food. Awesome food every time. I always get lamb with Sacha sauce and my dad gets Mongolian beef. Don't come here expecting the orange chicken to taste just like panda, it's not! This is authentic, fresh food! Not sugar and MSG. Anyways staff are always nice. It is OK. Here's the breakdown.... After about six attempts to call and order take out, they finally answered. We were told that they had a large order just call so our take out would take about forty minutes. We decided to go ahead and order.... Honey walnut shrimp-very good, but broccoli was almost raw. Cashew chicken-should probably be called celery chicken, as this was the MAIN ingredient. In my serving, I didn't have one single cashew. Again, there was a PLETHORA of celery! So if you're a fan of that veggie, THIS is your dish! Chicken egg rolls-pretty bland. Not too much flavor. The "seafood soup" was the biggest disappointment. We ordered a medium and were charged about $15. Evidently the gave us 2 large containers. My hubby picked it up and had no idea what amount was ordered, so we got overcharged. I wish it was yummy. It wasn't. By seafood I think they just meant shrimp. It consisted of semi raw veggie (maybe this is their cooking style), OVERCOOKED tofu and a few shrimp. Meh. Definitely would NOT order the soup again. Haven't decided if we would order food again. It's quite pricey for what we considered mediocre food. Especially when you're overcharged for flavorless soup that definitely didn't live up to its "seafood" name! read more

We got chicken egg rolls, orange chicken and kung pao chicken with fried rice. The rice was the standout. Egg rolls had a different kind of spice that we weren't crazy about. Couldn't tell the difference between the two chicken plates - they were okay. Nothing worth coming back for, but nothing worth running away from. A good option if you're craving Chinese and in a pinch. We would probably try something different next time. read more

Loved my meal here! A small restaurant in a little strip that is quite tucked away you would hardly notice it if you weren't looking. There was hardly anybody in there at around 230 on a Saturday so we were seated right away. After looking at the menu for a little bit we decided to order veggie eggrolls and the green onion pie to start, and for our entrées the honey walnut shrimp and orange chicken. The egg rolls came out first and they were super hot and fresh! They were a nice size, not too big or too small and they were filled with plenty of the vegetables. It did not come with any type of a sauce to dip it in but on the table they provide chili oil and I believe some kind of a duck sauce which was really good to use with the eggrolls. The green onion pie was also very good. It could have been a bit less chewy to eat but otherwise there was no complaints there either. They give you quite a few pieces of the green onion pie which is nice. Our entrées were delivered to us shortly after and they were amazing! The orange chicken was nice big chunks of white meat with a not too heavily breaded exterior. The sauce was super flavorful and they actually did not douse it too much in the sauce. Love how you could see the fresh orange peels and also bits of green onion. The honey walnut shrimp was my absolute favorite! Great portion size and the shrimps are not super tiny. The batter was really nice and light tempura style and once again they did not overly sauce it. The sauce on the shrimp was delicious and of course I love that they have the slightly sweetened walnuts on top to eat with the shrimp. White rice is served with both of the entrées. We ate quite a bit but still had a lot of leftovers. Had a really nice meal here and will definitely be back I'm sure! read more
