Always great food and you can tell because there is always a wait to get a table. Been there a few times and never have been disappointed. Love the chicken fried rice and the sesame chicken, they are always a must have for us. The wait staff is always very friendly and go out of their way to apologize for the wait. Today, we went to crescent moon Plano for lunch. What a horrific experience !!! We ordered few items from the lunch menu without realizing that it all came with a portion of rice. So, first of all, waiter came off very inpatient and rude while taking our order. It was very uncomfortable !! After, realizing that every item we ordered comes with rice. We asked him to cancel our fried rice order, since we have rice with all items we ordered. It was not enough 2 minutes before we realized and ask the waiter to cancel. He said that's not possible it's already cooked. Again, asking politely , he refused!!! Then, within a min we added another meat item to our order. We asked please let's drop the separate fried rice order since we have fried rice with all our orders, but NO!!! He said , it's too late !! It's cooked within few mins of the order. Very rude and unpleasant waiter just stood their and argued . But we just ordered !!! Waiter kept on saying you'll have to pay no matter what !!! It was very disappointing experience at the crescent moon today !!! Very unprofessional , unkind and rude waiter called himself the manger and didn't wanted to please his customers!!!!! we had A very terrible dinning experience here. First, their food is too much salty. I understand that Sichuan Cuisine has heavy taste. My family and I love Chinese cuisine and had been searching for a Halal Zabiha place for a long time. It gets tiring when you can order only sea food from even the best of the Chinese restaurants. Crescent Moon is a valuable addition to Dallas and Collin County especially to the large Muslim communities in the area. The decor and ambiance is tasteful and restive. The serving crew is swift, polite, and informative. From starters to entree's the menu is original and a feast for the palate. The vegetables are crispy tender and are their own testimony to freshness. The meats specially beef, are well done which adds to the flavor. I could not detect any MSG in the food as that makes me extremely thirsty afterwards, and with CM foods I never end up feeling parched. The cooking style is light and fulfilling and does not leave you feeling bloated. My family and I have some favorites which I'd like to share with all the readers. Crab puffs, Hot & Sour soup, and onion parathas for starters. Kung Pao Chicken, Teriyaki beef sticks, Mongolian beef and Walnut Honey shrimp for entrees, and Lychee ice cream for dessert. We visit this place at least twice a month and picking up an order of lo mein or a couple of orders of chinese chicken rolls for tea time in between is a norm. The food at this restaurant is very good. Very, very fresh and delicious. I chose Kung Pao Chicken my dinner companion had Orange Chicken. The service was very good. The owner's daughter was our server. These are very nice people, very caring. We also split hot and sour soup. The soup was not as flavorful as I would have expected but it was good. The vegetables in everything were fresh, crispy and tasty. The meat was delicious (Hallal as people have pointed out). The atmosphere was very nice. The crowd displayed a great deal of diversity. We had ice cream afterwards. One thing I would say is that it is not inexpensive there. The value for the dollar was OK. It was a bit chilly in there but better than being hot. The rice was delicious - sticky as white rice should be. We drank water only so no comment on the beverage offerings. I would say that they are good - there are probably better places. Best Chinese Food we have found in Plano. Thanks for Yelp for helping us find this gem. We had the veggie egg rolls, hot and sour soup, sweet and sour chicken, and mixed veggies. We tried the beef pot stickers as mentioned in on of the other yelp reviews and we were not disappointed. The food is fresh, the meat is organic (which is a plus for us) and no MSG so you don't feel sick and tired after eating. The portions are HUGE, easy to share between two and three people. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The next time we came in, the staff remembered us. I couldn't believe it. Crescent Moon has become a weekly staple for us. read more

The one star because I don't have option for zero star,I my family, a fiend and his wife dined here today and was really bad experience, I told the manager am reviewing the business and he didn't care at all about it, so let's start: 1- the cleanless is something really not exists in this restaurant, they served used dirty glasses to other customers in front of us, the bathroom been not cleaned at lease for a week, it's a big miss and it's my fault I didn't leave when I saw that, also they have a flys problem there and the manager said it comes from the back door, so for sure it's super nasty over there to have that much of flys and the hot weather make it worst and worst. 2- customer service is really awful, the server don't speak English and every time we ask for something he bring the manager, also he never refill the soda for us and I walk to him to ask for more soda. 3- the restaurant is a big miss and nothing organized well, chairs stacked everywhere, weird stuff spreading all over the place. 4- we placed the order and I asked the manager to suptitud the rice with flat noodles but he said he can't I offer him to pay any different he want but still NO is the answer. 4- our order took more than 50 minutes, at lease tell us it take that much of time to prepare our selves. First dish came in and it was wrong, the server got mad and he argued that with the manager; it's wrong order just replace it and let's move on, waiting more time and finally got our orders. 5- we finished and paid our food and split the ticket with my friend, i didnt pay any tip but my friend did, the server looked at me and shake his head and I asked him what the problem he point to the ticket with weird attitude, at this point I went to the manager and i complained about everything, unfortunately he was so busy and didn't pay any attention or put any efforts to make it better. This was a delicious surprise. I am most familiar with cantonese cooking and "american" chinese, and so did not expect the unique spices that flavor this northern style cuisine. I am dying to know what spice that is in the beef potstickers that give it that amazing flavor, and the delicate balance of tastes in the three treasures wonton soup were perhaps the most entertaining and soothing part of my day. If you are caught between wanting the trusted standby recipe, and trying something new, I highly recommend this restaurant. They have all the standard recipes, and add a unique hint of something new or different, and it makes you fall in love with all your favorites all over again. As a former restaurant trainer, I am extremely picky.When I went to pick up my order I found the entire restaurant to be spotlessly clean, the employees were very welcoming and provided a wonderful atmosphere. When I order sesame chicken..I like an extra order of sesame sauce on the side in addition to what already comes on the order. I like a lot of sauce. The last two orders...I didn't get extra sauce..I got a small container full of sesame seeds! Really? What part of sauce did you not understand? It's a family restaurant that serves a wide assortment of dishes, from your everyday, tried-and-true "fast food" items to more authentic options--all savory and delicious! I've been to the restaurant (and also had their take-out) on multiple occasions over the past year, and I've never been disappointed once. The place itself is comfortable, family-friendly, and quite clean: an excellent choice for small parties or family gatherings (which you'll see there not infrequently). The onsite manager is an incredibly nice gentleman who works hard to provide customers the best dining experience possible and will go above and beyond to meet customer needs. We were visiting Texas and ate at the restaurant several times (My family loved ALL the food we ordered.and wanted to keep on going back) They are fresh and delicious. Very nice portion size for the price which are very, very reasonable. I especially loved their Honey Walnut Shrimp, Deep Fried Crispy Chicken, Crispy Black Pepper Beef. The general tso's chicken and Mongolian beef are great. Um a huge fan of hot and sour soup and they do a great job with it. Excellent place for a nice evening with the family and also makes a great place to stop by and grab some lunch. I did, however, have one 'offish' incident. A couple of months ago, I went with some family and friends and they seated us in one of the rooms for privacy which was very nice. A friend of mine decided he wanted Jimmy's from across the street. He thought it would be OK to join us after his meal there and brought inside a box of his unfinished fries. I understand this wasn't the wisest of choices on his part but unfortunately that really got to our waiter. He firmly asked my friend to cease his consumption of his fries or remove himself from the premises. My friend was in the wrong for having them inside of the restaurant but the way the situation was handled wasn't the classiest. Let me first state that i have been a loyal customer to crescent moon since it first opened. the food is generally good and the service is so so but today it was a bit disappointing. i went in after 8 (it was pretty much packed). they gave us a private room (there were 11 of us) but we had to beg them to put on the A/C. We ordered the chicken corn soup, orange chicken, sliced chicken w/ jalapeno, chicken chow mein and mongolian beef. usually it takes 10 mins for the soup to come out and the entrees take about 20. All our food came out within 5-10 mins which was odd. i was supremely dissapointed. the corn soup tasted like water, the entrees had more onions than meat. the only entree that tasted halfway decent was orange chicken. the other thing that really got to me is that we were kicked out approximately 20 mins after eating. i really hope they get their act together. i don't think i will go there again when they're busy. they don't know how to handle volume. read more

Solid Chinese food. I remember when they first opened I had a below average experience here, but they seem to have really improved the quality of their food and service since then. Last time dining, I tried their cheese wontons, orange chicken, mongolian beef, and shrimp fried rice, all of which were excellent. Prices are very reasonable, especially considering all the meat is Halal. Some dishes I've tried in the past could use a little bit of improvement. For example, their wings and crispy beef (both seemed to lack majorly in flavor). Their menu has a lot to offer though, and they seem to carry some of the less traditional entrees that someone more familiar with Chinese cuisine would appreciate and enjoy. The service can sometimes be a little slow because they seem to have a low waiter:customer ratio, but they're extremely nice and helpful once you manage to grab their attention. I would say the biggest advantage of coming here over other Chinese places it that the food is fresh, and the meat is of high quality. Nothing tastes, feels, or smells "questionable"... which is something not all Chinese food joints can boast. Ambiance is causal, very clean, and they offer private party rooms for small sized events.
