I was immediately serviced depends on the time of day it was still early. The manicurist was Cindy that did my gel manicure and pedicure. Cindy did a great job she remembered me and was able to make my short nails look fabulous just in time for spring. Thank you Cindy. The mood at creative nails is always cheerful and helpful to customers. They offer various types of services. So far I have not seen them turn down a client or say they are too busy. I have been going to Kathy's shops for a number of years. She has two and the one on Shaw and Marks , Lucky Nails, is the one I frequented most often. I lived right around the corner from there. Staff was always friendly and did an amazing job with my pedicures and nails. We now live around the corner from the Champlain location, Creative Nails. I recently requested a pedicure and manicure for both my husband and myself at the Champlain location. My husband had never had either. Our experience was wonderful, with him stating he would definitely return, yay! Kathy, the owner is friendly and bends over backwards to please her customers. If you are looking for good service, clean shop, and friendly staff this is your place to receive all of it. I also recently had my eyebrows waxed and my friend had upper lip and eyebrows waxed. Again, great service and we were walk-ins. Highly recommend either shop. read more

I went in today and there was no wait for a pedicure. I asked to have my gel polish removed from my toes, extra callus remover, and then paint with regular polish. The guy doing my pedicure must have been new because he seemed like he didn't know what he was doing. My toes are jagged, callus remover was a joke, and the polish on my uneven toes is sloppy. I called and specifically asked how much it is for a gel polish change (to change my current gel polish color to another color) and they quoted me $23 and I said cool I will be there soon! As I sat down they proceeded to soak my nails for the color removal and I said hey I just want to make sure your doing the basic gel polish change, I do not want any type of manicure just the service I was quoted for and they nodded yes and proceeded to have what seemed like a heated conversation in their language. At the end of my service I went to pay and they said $30 and I said no I was quoted $23 and they said no we charge to take your old gel polish off and I said no I asked you the price for a gel polish change and you said $23 we went back and forth and I ended up paying the $30. I will not be coming back here very unprofessional. read more

Had my last pedicure at this establishment today. The ladies that work there do a really great job. I have not had one bad pedicure there with the exception of one time my polish chipped earlier than I would have liked. I have been going here for a little over a year and I have ignored the same issues because the quality was consistent and the price was great. Within the past year they have raised their prices twice. I understand, everything is more expensive and to be honest, I was willing to pay. However, their time management is extremely poor. I have never been a walk in and always have an appointment but that has not guaranteed me a timely service. I have spent as long as 2.5 hours getting a pedicure. Today I waited 35 minutes past my appointment time and when a woman walked out frustrated at the two hours it took to get her pedicure, I got up to leave. The owner then began to insist I stay while trying to upsell me on a pedicure (I was only there for a polish change). I told him I had an appointment and I did not have time to wait. He told me they were busy and I asked what the point of an appointment is? Finally after some commotion he sat me in a chair and said someone would be right over. I told him I was not waiting much longer and this was ridiculous. I sat down as the nice lady next to me looked over and applauded my direction and smiled. It's clearly a known issue that they are abysmal when it comes to keeping a schedule. Finally a woman who I have had many times comes over and starts my toes. Meanwhile the owner is sitting at the front counter falling asleep to YouTube videos on his laptop. I watched as he nodded in and out of consciousness while these women busted their behinds. When my toes were done he walked over and said "thank you they look nice right?!" I told him "maybe you should get to work helping out instead of sleeping up front" that got enough laughter to make him visibly uncomfortable. He then told me how busy they all were and I said "you're so busy you're falling asleep". Then in a passive aggressive way he walks to another patron and says "we are so busy and people are all over the place, you know like a doctor's office when things gets behind". I quickly interrupted and asked that same patron if she had ever caught her doctor sleeping at the front desk, she of course said no and laughed. I then asked if her doctor was as bad at keeping a schedule as this place and she said no again. Moral of the story, the work is good, the ladies are sweet and the location is great. The prices are not as much of a value and I cannot stomach giving another dime to the jerk of an owner who would treats loyal customers this way. With one less client they should be a little less busy and therefore he will have even more time to nap up front. Sleep well Mr. Creative Nails Owner. read more

Got a decent gel manicure for $27. Pros & cons:. Eve was excellent at shaping my nails and I really like the way they turned out. This is the place for you if you want to get in and out in 30 minutes. Not so much a place for a relaxing experience. It kind of bothered me that she only soaked one of my hands before trimming cuticles. She did spend one minute on each hand for massage. They took me as a walk in, place wasn't busy. Staff was friendly and it was obvious they try to speak to each other in English sometimes for the customers, even though speaking in Vietnamese doesn't bother me. read more

Everyone here was really nice and they did a great job! Other places I have been to always cut me but they didn't so I was pleased. However I had them done one week ago and it's already chipping. It's gel polish so it shouldn't be chipping already. For the amount I paid for a gel mani pedi, I don't think it should be chipping so soon. read more

Very disappointed. It was my first, and last, visit here. My cuticles were cut ragged, and polish was applied over skin sticking up over my nail. When I pointed this out, the manicurist just slapped more polish on, which doesn't conceal the ragged bump on my nail. My pedicure was just as bad. While "cleaning " arou nd my nails, polish was removed from the actual nail, leaving the tip white, which is very obvious with dark nail polish. My toenails were also not filed, so I can slice my husband at night with the pointed corners. Don't waste your time or money. read more

I went here about 5-6 times and took my daughter several times... more so because the location is convenient for me. We have had Kathy the owner, the gentlemen that sits at the front and Kathy's daughter and a couple of the other women that work there for pedicures. I have a nail that grows down and Kathy did a great job repairing the first time but neglected to maintain by correcting at time of fill. The gentlemen did a great job at correcting it but in my opinion none of the nail techs at this location do a stellar job at design. So if you're looking for just a gel solid color, you might want to try this place. Kathy also does a great job at shaping nails. At the end of the day I wanted to try a new place because all the design jobs I gave them were done elementary. Like my 6th grade daughter art style. Not impressed but quality acrylic and polish that didn't seem to chip. read more

He was super fast yet very detailed on each nail I went in for a gel fill and was in n out within 45 minutes. The last time I went to a nail salon in Fresno it didn't go well, hence why I was nervous when looking for a salon to get a pedicure. Creative Nails happened to be nearby and I was desperately in need so I decided to stop in despite the mixed review. Creative Nails is in the same shopping center as Five and Sequoia Brewing Company, something worth noting because you won't be able to see them from off the street. I dropped in on a Sunday afternoon and they were able to fit me in right away. The nail salon was small but clean and had a a very nice selection of nail polishes (esp OPI) and gel/shellac colors. My pedicure was great! Not sure what the previous review was talking about but it only cost me $25 (prior to tip) and included a very long massage. Before my polish even went on, I was commenting on how clean and perfect my toes already looked. While you are getting your toes painted, they wrap warm towels around your legs, a nice touch to end my pedi on! The employees were all friendly and engaging, and yes they did speak to each other in Vietnamese. I'm so used to that at a nail salon that it's not even worth a second thought, although I'm sure there are people who do care. They were considerate enough to put my shoes in a bag for me to take home since I wore the pedicure slippers out. read more

Had an appointment for a pedicure and was left sitting with my feet in a tub of water for 45 minutes. This is the second time this has happened. Today was my first time at Creative Nails. Found them after going to Rita's next door. I haven't been loyal to any nail salon recently as the services at most places are very hit and miss or just plain mediocre. Upon entering I was overwhelmed by the smell of acrylic. There seemed to be no circulation or fans blowing to dissipate the very strong chemical smell and therefore left with a headache. I had a pedicure with Eve who did a great job. Her massage was very strong (like I like it!) unlike most places who just fumble around with your feet and legs while they chat with their coworkers. Also, the foot exfoliation I had was pretty intense. Eve scrubbed my feet with a good abbrasive sponge with foot scrub already on my feet. I'll be honest and say that it was almost a little more than I could take, but it was such an improvement from other places that hardly do anything that I also enjoyed it. No need to pay an extra $5 for callous remover if Eve scrubs your feet! The only thing that I request when I get a pedicure is for my toenails to be cut as short as they can be without cutting me because I play roller derby and long toenails are not a good thing in skates. Eve did exactly that, the shortest that anyone has ever made them. Other places I have asked for the same and my toenails are already too long 2 weeks later. Overall I was happy with the services that I received by Eve at Creative Nails for my pedicure of $25. Language barriers are not uncommon in many walk-in nail salons which can make it difficult to communicate. Though the staff spoke their native language, Eve's English was very well spoken. I will most likely come here for my next pedicure and update my review if necessary. read more
