Well, I have been sitting on this review and finally am at a place where I can be constructive with this one.
My mom loves this place. I have been here a few times with her and was like meh. I think that it was overpriced for what you get and the staff are not that friendly. However, we go.
BUT... my experience with them almost a week ago really has made me not want to go there again.
We made reservations for a Friday afternoon and it was okay. It was loud, even though there were not a lot of people, and I feel like the girl who did my nails was good. I picked a gel polish and was on my way. The next morning I checked my toes out and the color had literally gone crazy. I wish I was kidding. I went from a magenta to magenta around the outside and a pale pink in the middle. I was frustrated and so I called the salon to find out about getting it fixed. The receptionist told me that I had to remember who had done it. Well.... that was not so easy so I said that I had a reservation and they should have my ticket. She said no and that I needed to remember. I told her everything I could and she told me that I would need to come in and show her who did it. I was quite annoyed but I figured if I could do this I could get it fixed.
I went in to the salon and really struggled to identify the person, which was a little uncomfortable because I am strolling around trying to point out who had done this, when there had to be a better way. Finally a guy that works there asked the staff who had done it and the woman said it was her. Then I was told that I would need to wait 40 minutes until she could get to me because she was busy. Annoyed by this, I just scheduled an appointment for the next Tuesday.
I went on Tuesday, having an appointment, and she was not very friendly. I sat down and she (along with the receptionist) made a comment about me sticking to the polish brand I know. Yeah, that was not on me that it was not good. While she did my nails she was not very friendly, but whatever. Then she had one of her regulars come in and the lady (along with her mother and kids) were not happy that she was not working with her immediately. She was loud and rude and my lady was more focused on her needs than on mine. The poor lady on the other side of me was also not being taken care of because they were distracted, and her water was overflowing. She was just looking to relax and the chaos was not helping that. Then, as we are still having to hear the other 2 ladies complain and distracting my lady, another sink starts overflowing and I let her know, since kids are playing in the water. She eventually told someone to stop it and did not even say anything to me. Once she was done she was just like "okay I am done" and went back to focusing on the other complaining lady. Poor nice lady who just wanted to relax, like me, because I know she will not be back there either.
I know that I will not support a business that makes you feel miserable and not valued as a customer like I experienced at Venus. read more
