After a month she was giving hugs (on her own!) to the teacher to say good bye. I get regular updates about her time indoors, outdoors, potty training, meals, naps, etc. The facilities are comfortable and well equipped for babies and toddlers alike. All the communication with the staff is professional and the administration was flexible about the days that I needed for my daughter. Overall, I highly recommend Lyons Academy to all parents in the City Park area for the care of their children.

I sent an inquiry on a Tuesday to The Lions Academy to schedule a tour for my daughter. In the initial email I mentioned that she was 13 months old. I heard back that they had an immediate opening and that we could come tour that day. We went to the tour and had a good first impression and decided to enroll. During the tour, we discussed that my 13 month old is not yet walking. There was no mention of this being an issue or even potentially being an issue. We also discussed that we were hoping for 3x a week, but that we were flexible as we understand that places prefer full-time enrollment. The director said 3x a week was not an issue. We enrolled later that day (Tuesday), paid the enrollment fee, and first month's tuition. We purchased all of the supplies that were requested over the weekend, which was about $100 if you include the pack of diapers we purchased to bring. We dropped her off that following Monday. When we picked her up, they said everything went well. I sent an email later that evening with some follow up questions to clarify a couple of things that we didn't speak about when we picked her up. About 45 minutes later, I received an email from the director asking me to call her. I thought nothing of it, thinking she figured it would be easier to discuss the couple of questions I had over a call rather than by email. When I called, she told me that she had "heard from licensing" and that because my daughter is not walking, they could not have her under their license, and that there was no longer room for her. I said I was confused as to how this was just coming up almost a week later as we specifically discussed her age and that she wasn't walking. I was told that she "didn't think it would be an issue." She then said that we would receive a refund minus the amount for the one day she spent there. At no point during that conversation or in any of the conversations following to coordinate the refund and picking up her items did I receive any form of an apology or even a shred of humility or remorse. Obviously this was a shock and an inconvenience to say the least. It was also surprising to me that we were not offered a full refund. But the real reason I write this review is because I find it incredibly concerning that the director of this program does not even know the requirements of the licenses she has. I find it inexcusable that she did not know that my daughter would need to be in the infant room under their license. I find it even more inexcusable that she clearly did not go through the proper steps to ensure that my child was eligible for their program before she promised us a spot, enrolled us, and took her for the day. I find it inexcusable that she had 6 days from the day we toured until my daughter's first day to confirm the requirements of her license if she was not sure, and she did not do that until after the first day. However, the most concerning aspect is that she clearly had my daughter at her facility for an entire day in violation of her license. There is of course the possibility that the above explanation was just an excuse and her not being able to walk was simply an issue of preference or that another family wanted to enroll full-time right after we enrolled so they needed to make room. Either way, I would not recommend this facility to any family in Denver if you can avoid it. They clearly do not know what they're doing and they clearly do not care. It is difficult enough to trust even the most competent person you know with the care of your child. This place is not worth the risk.

The flexibility is unmatched, it's clear they put the kids first, and as a result my children absolutely love going to school and talk constantly about their teachers when they come home. The whole staff has also been extremely welcoming to us as an LGBT family. Could not recommend more.

After a few weeks, we decided to remove our baby from Lisa's care. She often lied to us and never…read morementioned that there had been a fire at her place. During that time, strangers were frequently in her home for repairs and renovations while our baby was there. One day, our baby refused to drink milk because of all the noise and chaos, but Lisa didn't tell us. As a result, our baby became severely dehydrated and went without food or milk for six hours. She also regularly came home with a full, unchanged diaper. Lisa never sent us any pictures or updates, and when I asked, she would get irritated and say she was too busy with renovations. That's unacceptable -- she was supposed to provide a safe and caring environment for our child. Later, she demanded full payment for the next month, but we refused since she failed to provide proper care and safety.

Whats great is they even have an in house cook who spends her time preparing food for the kids and they do their best to accommodate kids dietary restrictions. In addition, if you don't have those, they provide a great balance meal for the kids with fresh fruits and veges. Like how often does a kid come home and say I ate fresh cut cucumber. Honestly, my son went into this school not being a good eater, but now comes out being an awesome eater and he slowly learning to add variety into his dies and I don't struggle with him eating at home. I dunno how they do it but my kids nap so well for them, and my son especially it helped him do really well with sleeping there and at home. My daughter will sleep for them but won't for me at home, but thats ok. The staff is super observant and kind and take good care of my kids. My daughter learned a lot of hand eye coordination that I struggled to get her to enjoy while I was at home with her for a bit. Overall this place is great for your kiddos!

They're both incredible, detail oriented, and we couldn't have been happier leaving our son in their care. The previous Director, Brit, was also very friendly and a pleasure to deal with. After pulling our son out of KinderCare for a while during COVID, we returned in Spring '21 and there was a noticeable shift in the staff and attitude when we returned. It's only now that we're with a different daycare company that we realize how bad things really were at this KinderCare. Things were weird with dropoff/pickup, requiring parents to hand our kids off to random staff not allowing us in the classrooms due to COVID concerns, which we definitely appreciate, but this lack of seeing past the front lobby continued well after vaccines were available and the majority of CO residents had gotten them. There were times when we had to tell the person who our child was and what room they were supposed to be in as we're dropping them off. Not once after returning in Spring '21 did we meet the people caring for our son. One day he would be in one room, another day he would be in another room. It was weird having to leave our son with whoever randomly came out to get him on any given morning, not knowing where he was ending up or who would be watching him. Randomly the Director then emailed all of the parents saying she's moving out of state in two weeks, another odd red flag. During this time (Spring '21) it wasn't uncommon for us to get photos of our son being served meat, despite explaining that we're a vegetarian household. We would bring it to the attention of the staff and get responses like "it was only part of the photo but we didn't actually give it to him to eat". What?! He would routinely have accidents at daycare, despite at this point being potty trained and having no accidents at home, which had us wondering how often he was able to go to the bathroom or if his teacher paid attention to his requests to do so. There were a few times where we picked him up and his shorts had clearly been wet for a while, but he obviously hadn't been changed. There were also times when they emailed all of the parents asking to pick our kids up early because they didn't have enough people there to watch them. One week this was requested for 3 days in a row. This completely negates the point of child care if working parents have to leave work early to get their kids for no other reason than this KinderCare can't seem to figure out staffing issues. Finally one day at pickup (outside, waiting in line) I asked the Asst. Director what was going on since things had clearly started going off the rails here, and she told me they were trying to hire new staff "who actually care about their jobs". She also let me know that numerous staff members put in their 2 weeks notice and then just never returned. Yikes. As weird as all of this made us feel, it's only the stark contrast of our current daycare that brought to light how mismanaged Canyon Point KinderCare was by the time we left. If you're a parent questioning if what you're going through at Canyon Point is acceptable, it definitely is not.
