I was onboarded as a nanny for months with Kiddie up. I did a few things here and there, but recently I was hired for a one time caregiving event. I was informed after being hired for the job that I would be required to have a 30 minute unpaid phone call with the event organizer before the event. I told Maggie I was uninterested in unpaid work. She never responded to my email, just removed me from Kiddie Up all together. Maggie's unprofessionalism is frustrating and Kiddie Up wasted much of my time. My husband and I were in dire straits, looking for quality, reliable childcare while we waited for a spot to open up for our toddler in our daycare of choice. I was referred to Kiddie Up Nannies by a friend and decided to use them temporarily. We ended up needing to use them for about 4 months before we were able to get our son into daycare and we had a phenomenal experience. Maggie was incredibly responsive (even on nights and weekends) and always set us up with nannies that aligned with our values, priorities and price point. AVOID!!!!! Had SEVERAL bad experiences with Kiddie Up Nannies. First, paid our placement fee and had a full time nanny start. She was not a good "personality fit", which resulted in her needing to be terminated very quickly. Maggie did work hard to find us a temporary replacement while we searched for another full time replacement. This process took a long time as Kiddie Up had only a handful of candidates. Eventually Maggie stated that she'd need to charge us a daily fee for the temp even though she had already charged us the full placement fee, and wasn't able to find us a replacement (be sure to read the fine print in your contract with Kiddie Up). During this time Maggie also sent us an email that she had to terminate her relationship with our temp nanny for other issues that had come up (another low quality Kiddie Up placement) Eventually we got another full time nanny who seemed great, until she missed day after day, started to lie to us, and then just didn't show up (Instagram showed she was partying with some boy on a weekday out in Kansas, while she told us she had been in a serious car accident). Needless to say another Kiddie Up placement down the tubes in less than 6 weeks.... At this point Maggie said she would have to charge us again for another replacement (again, read the fine print in your Kiddie Up contract), and refused to refund any portion of our placement fee regardless of the continued poor quality of placements. Needless to say we are no longer using Kiddie Up. Maggie is a very nice woman who is tries hard....but at the end of the day, if you run a nanny service and charge a fee, you need to be evaluated on the quality of your nannies, and you ability to screen them. On those two points alone, I can't suggest anyone use Kiddie Up Nannies. read more

I owe my sanity and my career to Maggie at Kiddie Up Nannies and the amazing nanny we found through her! After deciding to start a nanny share with another family, we initially thought that we could save ourselves some money and hire a nanny ourselves by advertising for the position on websites like Care.com and Facebook. However, this proved extremely time-consuming, yielded few qualified applicants, and resulted in someone we tried to hire backing out last minute, leaving us with just two weeks before our current childcare ended... with no nanny, no additional qualified applicants, and no time or energy left for the search (since it was a busy time for me at work). At that point, we contracted with Kiddie Up to help us find a nanny for our nanny share. Just one day after signing the contract, Maggie set up a conference call with me and the other mom and posted the position posted right away. Within four days of signing the contract, Maggie sent us four qualified applicants and we started interviews right away. During and after our nanny search, Maggie was extremely communicative via email, always answering my questions within 24 hours but usually much faster. The nannies who applied to our position through Kiddie Up were of a MUCH higher caliber than any we found on our own. All of them had already passed a background check, completed an interview with Maggie, and had their references checked before we received their applications. I feel extremely thankful that we found our amazing and experienced nanny among those applicants. She has been working for us for four weeks now and has far exceeded our expectations in every single way! Without Maggie and Kiddie Up, we never would have found her. Maggie also helped us with contract negotiations and set us up with a wonderful, experienced temporary nanny who worked for just my family during the two weeks before our permanent nanny could start. If you want to hire a professional nanny, I highly recommend contracting with Maggie and Kiddie Up Nannies. Their services are well worth the cost and much more reasonable than other agencies. The negative reviews are the exact opposite of my experience with Maggie and Kiddie Up. If in doubt, I suggest you email Maggie yourself to see what kind of response you receive. I trust that you will find her to be professional and communicative in every way. read more

Truly awful experience. My husband and I contacted Ms. Broderick on May 10, 2019 to help us find a temporary nanny to begin June 24, 2019 since our full-time nanny had to leave the country due to immigration issues. At the recommendation of Ms. Broderick, we interviewed Angelika S. for the temporary position on May 18, 2019. On the same day, we informed Ms. Broderick that we would like to hire Angelika, and she suggested we pay the daily temporary nanny fees up front. On May 24, we paid $400 in temporary nanny fees specifically for services to be provided by Angelika. While we were out of town and less than two weeks before Angelika was to start with us, Maggie informed us that Angelika was no longer available but that she had two candidates for us to interview, Mary and Melonie. We interviewed both candidates via telephone and Skype while out of town on June 11 and 13. The candidates that Ms. Broderick provided were entirely unsuitable. Mary was entirely unqualified as she had absolutely NO full-time nanny experience. I cannot imagine any parent feeling comfortable leaving their one-year old child alone all day with someone with no full-time childcare experience. Shortly after we interviewed Melonie, we were told she was no longer available. As Ms. Broderick had no other suitable prospects for us and less than one week for us to find experienced and reliable childcare for our young daughter, we informed Ms. Broderick that we would find childcare through an alternate route and that we would like a refund of our temporary nanny fees as services were not provided as agreed upon. Ms. Broderick refused to refund our money. We ended up getting our money back only after disputing the charge through our credit company. Kiddie Up Nannies did not provide the services that they promised. They offered us one candidate whose lack of commitment and professionalism left us in a terrible bind scrambling for childcare at the last minute, one candidate that was not available, and one candidate who might as well have been plucked randomly off the street as she had absolutely zero experience as a nanny. I certainly DO NOT recommend this service to anyone. read more

I was a little skeptical at first since Kiddie Up Nannies was coming in LESS THAN HALF of other nanny services, but after contacting Maggie, I was impressed by the speed and professionalism that they were able to turn around a search for me. We had been interviewing for nannies, but were on a tight time frame and the pickings were slim. Within less than 24 hours, Maggie returned results from three woman who had excellent profiles. (Maggie pre-interviews, background checks and reference checks nannies before sending to a client.) She also did a quick (again, less than 24 hours) background check, driving record, etc. for the nanny we finally hired. Lastly, she has a great guarantee--if our nanny doesn't work out, she'll do the search again to find the replacement. read more

I never leave reviews, but this warranted one because I've been so impressed. The owner, Maggie, is a pleasure to work with. She's responsive, quick to place a sitter and is conscious of things that matter to mom's (i.e., not sending a temp who is recovering from a cold, etc). I use Kiddie Up exclusively for temp sitters (daytime and date nights) -- I've probably had 10 different women over time -- and I've loved each of them. Maggie is terrific! My husband and I asked her for help with a difficult task: finding a nanny who could work two particular days of the week for particular hours each day. Other agencies told us they couldn't accommodate our peculiar request, but Maggie was optimistic she could find us excellent candidates. And she delivered! We have twin infant girls and needed a nanny pretty quickly. We contacted Maggie and she was super fast with sitting down with us for 1 hour to interview us about our needs and requirements.
