Claire (the director) was incredibly rude and the pre-k rooms downstairs were so hot and humid it felt swampy. The one year old teachers were rough with the kids, grabbing and yanking them hard when they wanted them to move. It seemed like the one year old teachers were annoyed at the kids and they would rather be anywhere else. Doesn't look like the cleanest facility either. Definitely wouldn't send my kids here, especially for how much they charge and how little the teachers and director seem to care about children. RUN. read more

Really upset my wife informed me of our child learning marijuana smoking lingo from one of the teachers. And apparently one of the teachers smokes before clocking in and on their lunch break. Not okay the teachers should be fully aware while working with children. Marijuana dulls the mind and something unsafe could happen while under the influence to our child by being at this day care. Super upset. Probably will be taking my child out of this place and moving them to a location that drug tests their employees. Super disappointed. read more

We sent our 18 month old son here for 6 months. It was our first daycare experience and Claire and Tonya the administrators were very kind and welcoming. The teachers were nice and caring. However, we were all sick every 2 weeks the entire time he was at this school. We thought it was just normal to experience this much illness at this age. While he was there, he had foot and mouth, the stomach bug, and a constant cold. We switched daycares and my son was miraculously not sick constantly. There is something in the cleaning processes and procedures that needs to be addressed. Simple things like other daycares do, such as have kids and parents wash their hands upon entry. I would not send my kid back here. read more

Excellent support and we love all of the crafts and stimulation our infant received. It seemed like every day our son would come home with new artwork with his hand prints and foot prints. They had him on a great routine, he loved his teachers and they cook healthy meals for the kids so you don't have to stress about it. Our toddler daughter loves her teachers and has learned so many social emotional skills, music, Spanish, yoga. Her class has had blocks of topics like recycling, buildings and pets. We have done activities to stimulate her story telling too and take home the class pet to describe and write about our adventures. Could not be more pleased. read more

We have been sending our little boy here since he was 3 months old. Now he is almost 5 and time to go to ECE/kindergarten. We are sad to be leaving as the teachers are quality. Families are friendly and the location is great. Finding quality daycare is hard but this place does it right by treating their staff well. read more

We just moved to the Denver area and felt like we struck gold with this place. It is a great facility that makes it really easy for parents while providing wonderful care for the kids. The classrooms and facilities are clean & new which I love. The teachers are so wonderful and genuiniely caring. And then there are additional teachers that come in to play music and teach Spanish lessons etc. So the number of teachers to students is pretty great. They also are so easy to talk to and happy to spend time with any questions and things that come up. Same for the front office staff. Director Claire is great and everyone always greets you with a smile. I have been enjoying not having to pack lunches as all meals and snacks are provided - healthy & organic. My son is 3 and a really picky eater and just in the first few weeks of starting he has tried a number of new foods and expanded his menu. Such a huge victory for us. He had stopped napping at 2.5 and I had long since given up....but through some TLC and patience the teachers have got him to start napping again!! I LOVE being able to see photos and videos of his activities throughout the day and also being able to send a quick message to his teachers at any time through the Brightwheel app they use. Its super convenient as I can also make my payments through it each month. I have nothing negative to say about the school. I do wish there was a little more greenery outside but they do have plants around for the kids to water. Having the school in a convenient location in such an urban area while managing to feel safe, secure and most importantly as happy place for my son is the best feeling. read more

We loved Highlands Academy and I would highly recommend! We started at 3 months in 2019 for our two babies and stayed 2 years. I cried when we had leave only because we were moving. As a pediatric psychologist, I always felt they were safe and developmentally enriched. My kids also loved the specials (music, sports, etc.)! read more

The kiddos are happy and curious, and the classes are full. Not many Preschools pay for parents classes while providing childcare, and pick up at area Elementary Schools! Just wanted to give a shout out to Highlands Academy. My son has been going there for a year and a half, and my daughter for about 6 months. The teachers are wonderful and so engaged. They have an in house chef and a variety of special education classes i.e. yoga, Spanish, emotional wellness, sports with Coach Casey. Claire the administrator has always been flexible and willing to work with our family. The school is really committed to the community. A bonus, after I hired a kindergarten/DPS consultant to educate me on school choices and process, I learned that HA is even highly rated according to them! My infant son goes to Highlands Academy and they are wonderful. He loves his class and his 3 teachers love him like he was their own. They also provide all of his food and snacks. Now that he's drinking whole milk, the only thing we ever have to send in with him are diapers. read more

This is the most amazing school in the Denver area to send your children. It is such a nurturing, supportive and educational center. The teachers are engaged and care deeply for all their students. The school offers music, Spanish, and yoga for each student and they clearly flourish in such an engaging environment. read more

Love Highlands Academy. We started our son at 5 months there and he is almost 2 now. Have been consistently impressed with the level of care, curriculum, communication, and genuine love the teachers have for the kids. We are so happy we chose HA; our son is thriving, gets great socialization and they've actually taught us a lot about being good parents, too (in a non-intrusive way). We credit HA for lots of our son's good manners (sharing, waiting, sitting for a meal, listening quietly to a story). HA gets a very good Colorado Shines rating. Highly recommend. Location is convenient for parents who work downtown - literally just off I-25. read more

This was the worst school I have ever had my child in. She was there for less than a year it was so terrible. They violated their own family handbook. My child would constantly get injuries that were more than skin deep. I would never get an incident report as they claim they will give in the handbook. In addition, they never put sunscreen on my child when going outside to play. Also the play area was right next to a busy street, Speer Blvd. And the gate wasn't even locked. A child could easily open the gate and exit the play area right next to a busy street! Terrible school, stay away if you have any love for your child. read more

Not that great of a daycare for the amount they charge. The teachers could be more engaged with the kids instead of just standing/sitting and watching them. Incident rates are high here (which the city should really look into). The curriculum could be a little better as well. Overall, I would expect top notch care considering that this place is one of the most expensive in metro Denver. read more
