I highly recommend Square One Learning, it has truly enhanced our daughter's life more than we ever could have anticipated.

The space is adorable--they had me at the little red schoolhouse--cozy but not cramped, bright, and in a separate building from the owners' home, so the space is entirely devoted to the kids. The nap and imaginative play area downstairs is actually restful and dark, unlike some other home daycares or centers, where cots are squashed into the bright main play space and kids who are not sleeping are making noise in the same area. Meals are civilized and wholesome, and it's so nice not to have to pack lunch and snacks or pay a premium for served meals. The curriculum Sarah uses provides fun early learning experiences and promotes the values we hold dear: learning through play and nurturing relationships with caring, interested adults, a balance of structure and free play, healthy, calm, and social meals, and stimulating experiences involving movement, imagination, art-making, the outdoors, and music. Sarah has been extremely communicative and accommodating, allowing us to bring our daughter to come and experience the program for a couple hours one day before enrolling, and staying in close touch now that she's started there. We feel so lucky to have found this sweet place with such a great mix of the structure one might look for in a center and the personal care and cozy environment of a home daycare.

I have looked long and hard for a good preschool, for both of my kids. I think it is very important…read morethat my kids are well taken care of and also that they are in a learning environment. I stumbled upon Inspiration Preschool and I immediately took my 3 year old son out of the school he was in and enrolled him at Inspiration. The staff is lovely, friendly, warm and inspiring. The setting is quaint, warm and bright. When you walk in, it is just a wonderful place to be, and you know it. After one week of being at this school, my son, who was not interested in learning his ABC's and 123's comes home singing every day. He is interested in learning and engaging, where, he was not before. When I pick him up at night, he doesn't want to leave. When he was at the other schools, he was crying before I even picked him up, every single day - and never wanted to go to school. Now, he gets up before ME in the morning, gets himself dressed, and lines up by the door... saying "Take me to school Mommy!" I am so thrilled to have found this wonderful school and my son will be here until he moves into Kindergarten. It has a family feeling and a very supportive culture. I could not be happier.

Let's face it, the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence, and no daycare is really going to be good enough for your first child. Or can it be? Inspiration Preschool answered that question with a resounding YES for us. As soon as we found IP and our daughter was old enough (must be at least 2.5 years old), we took her out of the nanny share and enrolled her at Inspiration. It's a small "school" with a nice backyard. I put school in quotes because really, it's daycare but very much in a learning environment. During the regular school year, each month is a different learning focus. For example, they focused on rainbows and colors in April, things that grow in May. There is a reading area, too, with tons of books to suit the ages of the children. The kids learn lots of songs, too. I was so pleasantly surprised when my daughter came home from school and taught me songs that they sung that day. They learn the alphabet, counting, days of the week, the calendar...the list goes on. So yeah, it's a "school", and my daughter gets good care, too. All of the staff is top notch. You can see the love and care they have for all of the kids on each teacher's face. Inspiration isn't just teachers, either. it's a community where parents not only know each teacher, but they know every child that goes there and every parent of those children. Everyone gets together on occasion through events put on by the school and/or other families. They even recently did a field trip to The Children's Museum! The main thing that I love about Inspiration is that the kids play outside, at least twice a day, EVERY day. It doesn't matter what the weather is (well, within reason of course), they go outside and expend that energy that only 2.5 - 5 year olds have in spades. The backyard is so conducive to this, too. There are 5 -7 different areas back there where the kids can get their play on. My favorite is the musical area that features pots & pans to make "music" with and a big chime set that the kids can hit with various kitchen utensils. My daughter now looks forward to school everyday that she goes, and even asks if she is going to school on weekends. When we pick her up, she doesn't want to leave. She's made some wonderful friends, too. So have her parents! Thanks, Inspiration Preschool!

If…read morewe ever have to leave, it will just be because we have to find a place closer to home or work. Here are some useful tidbits for parents who might be looking at this school: Pros: super secure sign in/out process (everyone gets their own code, and there's a hand scanner), friendly office staff, responsive to inquiries, owners are on site every day and are involved and very communicative, teacher to child ratios are maintained really well, the teachers there seem to really love what they do, well-rounded curriculum, regular meetings with parents, regular evaluations (because they're a franchise), our tiny person loves her teachers... she reaches for them when we get to school in the morning, open door policy, you can call or come by any time to see your child, you can hire the teachers as babysitters (and many of them love to do this!), you're treated like family, transitions to new classrooms are done according to the child's development, not necessarily according to birth date. Cons: cost-prohibitive (it's literally like having a second mortgage), people coming in and out of the infant classroom aren't required to wear booties or take their shoes off, parking is scarce so pick up and drop off can be a little tricky sometimes, not a lot of opportunity to meet other parents except during drop off and pick up times.
