They are undergoing a huge renovation, so parts of the gym are closed or only half open, and this is the only reason I'm not giving them 5 stars. Here's a breakdown of my experience: Weights: a great selection of both free weights and machines. Most of the free weights are downstairs, and include 3 squat racks, multiple benches, kettlebells and dumbbells in many different denominations, chain machines, a GHD, and a few other miscellaneous machines. Upstairs, there are a lot more machines (they have almost every type of iso machine you can think of), as well as a stretching area and cardio (see next paragraph). Both areas were picked up neatly and there was only a minimal or no wait for most things. Cardio: They have both aerodyne bikes and treadmills! I love these cardio machines, and I am glad to see them. They also have quite a few rowers too. Finally, although I don't use them, there are some regular treadmills and ellipticals. Construction: The basketball gym and track are both closed right now for renovations, as is half the weight area. I think there will be a lot more coming once those areas open, and the newly renovated areas were really nice. Locker rooms: HUGE! A ton of lockers (combo locks and you do not need to bring your own), quite a few clean showers and stalls, some seating, and even some bathroom amenities. Staff: Super friendly! When they heard I was visiting from the Twin Cities, they gave me a tour and answered a lot of my questions. All in all, this is a great YMCA location and a great place to work out in Downtown Denver!

Per their website (see picture), the Y starter membership provides a camp discount. I paid upfront for an annual membership ($400+) only to realize later that I was not getting the discount. When I asked why, they said the child needs to be a member. If that's the case, WHY is that not stated anywhere on the website or registration materials? I tried to get a refund and the staff refuse to do anything. Incredibly frustrated that I'm out over $400 with nothing to show for it as I never use any Y services, personally.

So we got an adult to place the reservation on what appears to be their we portal. Had to make the reservation an hour earlier, which caused several folk to miss it as they were still at work. But turns out they are the real winners. Because those of us who went over early just got to talk to the manager telling us that they close at 4:00 and there are no canoes, and the reservation clearly was not with them. Who was it with? "Colorado Watersports"... well that is us, no reservation showed on their system, so they demanded to know WHO we made the reservation with, who did we talk to... https://www.coloradowatersports.com/ They claim to have no control over the web site. It lets me make a similar reservation for tomorrow. From which I conclude you should never make reservations with that web site as it is not for rentals at Colorado Watersports at Chatfield. Note: they made no move to get a canoe as they don't want canoes going out that late. Literally all the employees were just sitting around doing nothing except try to prove we don't have a reservation. Clearly they did not want our business. They did not provide any canoes as promissed. Do yourself a favor, look elsewhere.

We both have experience with this company from rafting the Upper Salt River in AZ. Unfortunately the water levels didn't cooperate but, the rafting company modified the itinerary to give us the best possible adventure possible. Day upper upper Browns Canyon which led to class I've and the use of duckies. Operation am not a fan but, half of our group loved them. We were then driven 1.5 hours away for our dinner and tent camping (3 miles from our put in). Ryan and Eric our guides cooked a great meal and catered to the group. We awakened to a mist and heavy fog, which we were served pancakes and sausages for a warm breakfast, and let's not forget hot coffee. We then departed at 8:30 for our trip down the Royal Gorge were we hit class in rapids, lots of class 3s, great geology, good company, lots of fun and a great experience. Ryan our lead guide and Eric did a great job for 2 days of providing us a great experience and memories. You have many choices but from a personal experience this is the best company to deal with. We are already planning next year's multi day trip.

What I didn't expect is that by signing up for camp you were signing up for cold, hard food. Don't get me wrong and think that I was expecting some gourmet meals or something, but if you serve me a hamburger patty or a baked potato, it should at least be warm enough to melt the cheese a little. Nope. It literally was a cold hard piece of food. Not sure why the didn't give a care at all, but the literally were serving anything. Im still trying to figure out what the $600 went towards. They served the bottom of the barrel for liquor and drinks. Besides the food, alcohol, and the cabin situation, camp was amazing and an experience to remember. I would not risk it again after that food mess though. Also don't spend money on the extra solo cabin. They didn't even bother to tell us that you don't have a bathroom and that you will have to take a hike in the freezing cold every time you want to use it or shower. The large bunks are attached to the bathrooms.

We also used pastels on top, which I thought added a really cool texture to my work. The teacher made each part seem so simple, everyone in the class was able to make something really beautiful. Being that the event was on a Saturday the parking lot was relatively empty so I didn't have to find street parking, but I did notice many of my classmates found street parking. The instructor Karin introduced us to the Art Students League of Denver, the offerings, and some history. We went around the room and discussed everyone's level of experience and interests. She really listened and worked to tailor our experience based on our responses. Each seat was set up with the materials we needed and we started off with introductory stitches. After an hour we focused on our Art piece and near the end of class picked up remaining supplies to finish our work at home. 10 mins before leaving we all did stretching exercises and cleaned up the room. I'd recommend attending if others are interested in learning something new or expanding their skill set.
