Also, I have two witnessed instances where my child was jerked/yanked/twisted by his arm by two different primary teachers for minutes at a time, so we quickly felt that we were lucky we departed when we did. When I brought the issue to admin's attention, they seemed appalled and talked of having a "body safety course" offered to their staff. Nothing ever came of it. Total Mom fail for spending $60k over the course of 2.5 years all for a program that promised us the world but delivered to us a sad, distrusting little boy who lacked any self confidence. I am very happy to report that 8 months later, we have rebuilt trust with our son, and he is thriving without being swallowed by constant negativity and abuse.

There was so much care and attention for us as parents of a potential student. This was a totally different feel than the mass group tours of other schools we have visited. This was really personal, we could ask all the scary questions we wanted and Amanda was incredibly kind, thoughtful and transparent with her replies. After we were done with our tour, we went from wanting our son to attend a school for only 2 days, to wanting him to go into the full 5 day program With Montessori Academy. We were that impressed.

I think the review below is for a different location. Bright Horizons on the Mall is such a special…read moreplace with such caring teachers and staff. It's clean and organized. It's calm and teachers seem to delight in the students and enjoy their job. We are so happy to have our infant here!

Serious safety concern at Bright Horizon…read more We have been with Bright Horizons for a little over two years, specifically at the Interlocken location. Our son is 2.5 years old. Until now, aside from a few minor issues, our experience had been fine. That changed yesterday. After picking our son up after nine hours at school, we discovered he was still wearing the same diaper we put him in that morning. The diaper was extremely heavy, ripped, and visibly disintegrating, with white material coming out and covering his legs. We knew immediately it was the same diaper because we use pull-ups at home and send regular diapers to school, per the school's request. This was a pull-up, meaning it had been on him all day. We checked the daycare app to confirm diaper changes. Nothing was logged. The only diaper change recorded was the one we did that morning. Our child went an entire school day without a single diaper change. We escalated this to site leadership and higher leadership. We were told an HR investigation would be opened. However, this location is scheduled to close in two days, which makes it clear there will be no meaningful accountability for what happened. We immediately decided not to bring our child back. Bright Horizons offered only a two-day refund. When my husband asked leadership whether they would feel comfortable sending their own child back after this incident, the answer was yes. That response is what concerns us most. This situation, and the response to it, came from higher leadership, not just a single classroom or staff member. If leadership believes this is acceptable, it raises serious concerns about the standards being upheld and what behavior is allowed to continue. Leaving a toddler in the same diaper for nine hours is not a minor oversight. It is a basic care failure. I am sharing this to warn other parents, especially those considering the Interlocken location. Please ask questions and trust your instincts.

My experience has been with the Nido clasroom over the last couple of months. Based on other…read morereviews, I think there have been some changes over the years, especially now that there is a new director and Mrs. Shawn is the Nido lead teacher. Although the school closes for teacher professional development days, I see the benefits in tweaks to the classroom environment and knowledge of the teachers! I love that the school is open from 7:15 - 5:30 since our schedule can vary and I can't do drop offs and pickups at exactly the same time each day. I was looking for an accredited school that would help my son with all his development milestones and truly put into practice Montessori teachings. I have been very pleased with the results and growth of my little guy! The teachers truly seem to love and get excited about the kiddos and all the progress they make. I also appreciate that they work closely with me for information updates and even on suggestions like how to start solids (e.g. to give him his own spoon to hold). I didn't want a school to just feed and change diapers, I wanted my happy little guy to flourish and I'm pleased that I found a school that would partner with me to achieve that goal!

I have to preface what I have to say with the fact that my child doesn't go to Family Star, but it…read moreseems like a good program and I would like to send my child there, but they don't take on infants part-time even if you're willing to pay full-time fares. The child has to be in the school by 9 AM (and I think they're open until 5/5:30), which seemed too early, especially considering the fares that they're charging. Right now, it's $1500 a month. An interesting aspect to their care though, and maybe why it's more, is that they provide the diapers and they only use cloth diapers to help with potty training. They also provide the food. It sounded like they had a good program in place to help those that couldn't afford their care if they met their guidelines. All-in-all it sounds like a great school. I'm just disappointed that they don't accept infants part time.
