It was the easiest choice to make. Today was my installation day. Wow - I am even more impressed. I feel my room looks totally pulled together with pillow shams and chair cushion; and compliments the look in my master bathroom. The color is perfect and they definitely have the wow factor. MK has met timeline and budget with fair pricing on any extras, which is extremely rare in constructions. Materials. High quality materials, and I could choose what I wanted as brands and models for siding and interior finishing. I am still and denial my project went so well. My spouse escalated our request to the owner, George, as he felt that is was Ablaze responsibility…read more George said he would look into the issue. We notified them on 6/12/24, on 6/24 George himself came out to look at the pan and measure the closet to see if a new appropriate drain pan would fit because not all comply with current codes. He ordered the new drain pan, scheduled to have it installed but also commented on the review I left, he asked if he could come by. We said he could come verify our statements when the pan was installed but his team Brian and David were well aware of a number of issues prior to our final payment. Today, August 2nd the new drain pan was installed as George did acknowledge that is the proper installation for the set-up we have. He also reviewed a number of items, offered to fix what he could. While it was a nice offer/gesture, our experience with the team (Brian & David and all the sub contractors) made it impossible for us to accept. George indicated he was not aware and that a number of these items could have easily been punch list items to be taken care, but that option was never given to us. George did in fact reimburse us for a different issue. I'm grateful George stepped in and that he was willing to at least look into it. I'm more grateful he acknowledged and did correct the drain pan and I appreciate his offer to correct what he could. The crew that was here did an excellent job (from what we can tell as of today). It's unfortunate it had to be escalated but I can confidently say, when it was, George did everything he could to get taken care of appropriately. He communicated frequently and everything went very smooth.

I decided to stage my condo to make it sell quicker and my realtor stumbled on Rachel, who is the owner of Staging Sells. I obviously never had a chance to meet her since I live in Los Angeles, but had a quick conversation over the phone with her. Immediately she began to talk about her background. Apparently 17 years as an interior designer. Her resume on the surface seems legit, but don't be fooled. Payment: I found it odd that she requested ALL the payment upfront. Not even half now, half later. This is how she works. She initially wanted to charge me $2,500 to stage a 2br 2ba condo. We agreed to $1700 as the final price. This $1700 included fake plants, cheap furniture, air mattresses, and zero decoration/staging in the bedrooms & bathrooms. What is Staging? Staging allows potential home owners to get a feel for the layout and helps them envision how they can potentially layout their new home, right? Well, this is probably exactly the opposite of what Rachel and her 17 years of experience did. 1) The living room is the most important. Rachel staged it as if it was a lounge of a dentist office. She included cheap, stiff, uncomfortable white couches that were meant to be in an office. 2) The direction the couches were facing was the kitchen, what the fuck? 3) The couches didn't even face the TV. She claims that you can "lay down" on the couch and watch TV. If you ever have guests over, you might as well throw that TV out the window. 4) When was the last time you saw a Canopy style bed in a master bedroom that's small? Apparently Rachel thought it was a bright idea to include one. Not only does it make the existing space look small, but canopy style beds are meant for single family homes. 5) Bathrooms: nothing in there, it's completely empty. No towels, no rugs...we couldn't even use pictures because it looked so barren. Communication: Hard to get a hold of her. She's pretty stubborn when it comes to the layout and design. I kindly asked Rachel to re-arrange add/remove some furniture so we can relist the property. She wanted $500 bucks for this b/c she claims she needs to hire movers. I don't think it costs $500 to remove this cheap furniture...this is highway robbery. As an interior designer, I'd imagine she would have some sense of professional obligation to fulfill the needs and goals of the client. I trusted her by paying upfront that she would make appropriate modifications and work in my best interest. She failed miserably. She is a crook that gives zero fucks about her clients. She hoards cheap furniture and actually has zero sense on interior design.

Not their fault at all, it seemed like they subcontracted the work to some other company when it came time to install, though. Part of the back door wasn't done right so I had to make the comment to the installers that I will have to wait to pay until it was fixed, it got fixed immediately after that. After that, gave them another try to remodel our master bathroom. Met over Zoom June of 2022, met in person later that month, we were ready to sign a contract that day if they had one, but we waited, and waited, and waited. Reached out in early July, then again in late July, told in early August that they'll have the bid for me shortly. Never heard from them again. Decided to try one more time this year for a siding project. Filled out their online form, was called by someone and reached back out mid-June and never heard back. I really don't mind if a company doesn't want to do business with a particular customer, just let me know so I don't spend time trying to reach out and spin my wheels. The ghosting is really unprofessional.

Called them up and showed them photos. At first they were reluctant to believe me, and I had to go to their shop. I showed them the photos of the quartz from the distributor's own website (and their customer's photos), and they tried to convince me that the brown worm like things were normal. I almost begged them to be fair. Then they pulled out the brochure they had and finally believed me bc the delivered stone looked nothing like the physical displays, online photos, or the brochure. Turns out the distributor had outdated displays and the newer version of this quartz was totally different. You know what? I wasn't mad. I actually felt bad bc I don't like to be of trouble to others even though it wasn't my fault. But they immediately blamed the distributor saying they made the mistake and that they're a small company so they can't check every slab. They're just the fabricators. So they told me to go to the distributor the next day. They said they'd called them to have the 3 new slabs ready for me. So I went. Did not have it ready and refused to show me all three. Told me to call G&M. So I did. I got caught in the middle. Told me they'll send photos of the other two from same lot. Ok sure. A couple days later they called me and told me to go in their office to physical okay the 3 slabs. Won't send photos. Now I was getting annoyed. I seriously devoted a lot of time to doing their bidding. My job matters too ok? I already went and they never apologized for wasting my time by not having it ready. Not only that, when I went again - they didn't have the slabs ready and get this - got mad when I asked to see all 3 slabs. They seemed so annoyed. They wanted me to peek at it sideways while it was stuck between two other slabs. Seriously? I'm doing what they asked me to do. I took extra time from my work day to verify the slabs. Shouldn't I be the one that's annoyed? Later on, they got annoyed bc I asked for final measurements. Got yelled at. Made a show of telling me how they use templates and would need so much work to tally that up. Told me to measure it myself. Told me that if every customer was like me, blah blah blah. I just left. It was so rude. Spoke to owner. He apologized but didn't take responsibility. Made excuses. Said they were understaffed and stressed. Said his mom in law was in the hospital. Said he would send me measurements that day. I said don't worry just send it within a week. I felt terrible for him. Nothing gets sent even a week later. But I get a call the day before install that they need to remeasure that day. Ok fine I change my work schedule to be home. The next morning I called to make sure they leave a wide enough opening for my stove bc they didn't during the first install, and the owner said his mom in law passed. Well that's terrible. They can't come that day. Told me to call the office for a reschedule and they wouldn't know when. Maybe tomorrow. Ok I'm fine with that. So I email the office. No response. Later that day my mom called. She happened to be at the home and apparently they showed up to install. I rush home from work. This is not professional behavior at all. I'm at their beck and call. Wait, they didn't even call me. Did they forget that I was their customer? Not their slave? It was going fine until Jose one of the guys starts giving me attitude. All I asked was that they control the dust bc they started cutting the quartz indoors. Stone dust everywhere like a white cloud. I had kids in the home breathing this in. Beforehand they told me they'd cut only a faucet hole in the garage but here they were trimming a lot more than the faucet in the house. But the thing is I would've been understanding if they just tried to control it better. Instead Jose gave me so much attitude and told me to call the office and the owner. I did both and no one picked up. He bluffed saying they'd leave and come back next day if they had to cut literally just outside. Finally another guy there told Jose to shut up and do the work. He was nicer and said he'd vacuum it up. I opened the doors. It was still a mess but they gave me no choice. Jose said the owner threatened to leave too. Later on he admitted it was the owners son. Btw he dented two parts of my cabinets and there was glue all over my brand new hardwood floors. The other guys were fine. So if you want to be dragged around by people who have no respect for your time, home, or family - choose these guys. They kept explaining how terrible things were going for them but never really considered what it's like for me, their customer. Created so much stress for me. So many excuses. Normally I tip extra but I only gave them waters this time. Treating people well doesn't matter sometimes. They just take advantage of your kindness.
