Petr and his team completed a ~400 sq ft basement finishing project in our come within about 2.5-3 days. From the moment we called to the time the work was completed, it was about 1 week start (quote sent and reviewed) to finish (work completed and paid). They sanded and perfected trim and recently replaced drywall, and primed and painted walls, ceiling, and trim. They were able to use the specific paint brand, quality and color that we selected without a significant price increase. We felt they offered a great value and we appreciated that they offered a discount for cash. Petr came in the beginning and at the end to ensure we were satisfied with the work quality. Sharing a few photos of completed work for a sense of interior quality, as many projects featured here are of exterior paint projects or in-progress projects. Overall, we recommend Signature Paint and we would work with them again on future projects.

Since we hadn't painted the house in years Alex did the whole house, even painting the stairs going downstairs, taking a false ceiling off and painting the beams looks great to scrapping stairs with paint falling off outside making it look like new. I kept adding things every time I went to the house and thought Alex might think I am crazy or just a pain but no always sure if you want was his answer. Seems with Alex all you need to do is ask him and he will get it done and quickly if it is something he does or will tell you he doesn't do that. Thank you Alex and his employee's great job.

The project manager Jeff was a great communicator and each time I called to get an update or change a color Brett or Merill were there to help. They are doing our exterior this summer and even sent a crew to our house in Lake Geneva a few weeks ago to do some cosmetic work after remodeling this past winter. Avoid Davinci - call Ragsdale.

Our project consisted of extensive drywall repairs after trim and chair rail removal. Painting, Wallpapering a 25ft stairwell, stairway railings, door painting and of course ceilings and trim. The photos don't do the job justice as we had work upstairs, downstairs, and even a repair job to the side of the house from water damage. Steve's employees were extremely skilled, fast, neat perfectionists. They weren't beginners or summer college students. They were very experienced at what they do. The price stuck at exactly what he quoted even though there were some adjustments here and there. The wallpaper job was exemplary and we were very particular about that aspect because it was custom wallpaper and very expensive. I scheduled the work around last November, as I wanted my deck to be refinished and looking good for the full 2025 season. The first days with decent weather in late April the deck was washed, and by early May the deck was finished. A crew of 2 worked a full day power washing and bleaching the deck and 2 sections of yard fencing. Every part of the deck was thoroughly cleaned, including areas not normally visible, and all areas of the deck that were surrounded by bushes. Within about a week, as soon as we had a few sunny days and warmer weather, a crew of three worked a full day sanding and staining the deck and fence. The deck floor was power sanded, and all other surfaces were hand sanded, before all sawdust was carefully blown away and stain was applied. Deck Doc did an outstanding job, and I would not hesitate to recommend them. Communications regarding scheduling were excellent, work was done competently and on the days and at the times promised. The area around the deck was left completely clean when work was completed. Thank you for making my deck look like new.

COULD do without the pink kitchen and yellow and black bathroom tiles. Aesthetics aside, there were some serious layout issues with the house that made it seem smaller than it actually was. Before just hiring a general contractor, we talked to Jereme to see if he had some design ideas that would be more interesting than just "knock down some walls and put new drywall up." Jereme worked really hard to keep within budget while still adding some fun touches that everyone comments on, like a reclaimed wood soffit that defines the kitchen area. He also used every square inch of the home to make sure we didn't have any wasted spaces. We used barn doors to make old bathrooms feel bigger and built ins to make the most of slanted attic walls. Overall, everything was on time and any extras were clearly laid out. Communication over email was great and he was very organized as we went along with the to do list and keeping all of the contractors on task. I would highly recommend Design Insight and will definitely use them again if we buy another house.

A gorgeous, spacious, cook's kitchen, open floor plan, open curved staircase to basement, mud room and outdoor BBQ station. Jereme is a creative architect with a keen eye for details...not to mention a great, easy-going guy! We had a couple of initial meetings to discuss our wants and needs and then Jereme dove into the design and ultimately presented a few design concepts. We quickly zeroed in on the one that seemed best and collectively tweaked the design and components to best suit our needs. Jereme hired the construction crew and personally directed and supervised their work. He was on the site every day and in frequent contact with us. The end result is FABULOUS and more than we hoped for!! Jereme was great to work with. Very responsive to all of our questions, concerns and ideas...and he never showed any ego. Painting 3 bedrooms & closets, kitchen, 1 1/2 baths, linen closet, coat closet; repairing & painting family room; performing carpentry & painting outside shed; staining front door We are thoroughly happy with the quality of their work and recommend ABL Group for painting and handyman work. We hired ABL Group because it was highly rated by Angie List members, has verifiable worker's and liability insurance, an up-to-date verifiable EPA lead paint certification (checked at www.epa.gov/lead), 5 year warranty (labor and materials), and a good price. We received estimates from 5 companies. Our ranch style home was built in 1962 so it was important that we hire a painting company with EPA lead paint certification. In my presence ABL tested each room to be painted for lead, thankfully none were found. We expected above average preparation of the walls and ceilings (according to another company's estimator, our expectation was above average), repairing many wall and ceiling cracks and blemishes, patching unused picture and curtain rod holes. Howard Lipsky, the owner, came to our home to give an estimate. He was friendly, knowledgeable, listened to our requirements, and made suggestions. We gave him a printed list of our requirements. I'm a retired computer programmer and very detail oriented. His proposal was the most detailed of the 5 companies' proposals we received. ABL willingly added additional information to the proposal to clarify and add omissions. We knew exactly what we would get when we signed the proposal. Before the project began, Howard visited again to give us a complimentary color consultation, suggesting paint types, sheens and colors for the rooms and shed. Inside the house, workers prepared the walls and ceilings, protecting the floors, furniture, cabinets with plastic tarps and cloths, removing electric outlet and light switch plates, scraping loose paint, repairing cracks and holes, caulking, applying primer over bare surfaces, cleaning areas daily. At the end of each day I checked prep work, pointing out issues that they happily corrected the next day. They applied two coats of Benjamin Moore Regal paint, allowing the first coat time to dry before painting the second coat. After painting was done, they caulked top of backsplashes in bathrooms and kitchen. A worker lightly sanded front door and applied 3 coats of Zar Ultra stain. Again, they fixed any concern I had about a specific area, e.g. applying third coat of stain to front door to achieve uniform appearance. We thought that the workers' supervision, provided by Billy, project supervisor, and Balentine, foreman, was good, Billy checking in daily. Both men listened to and satisfied our concerns and answered our questions. The workers came early, worked hard and put in a full day of work in order to meet the schedule in the proposal. Pleased with the painting project in progress, we entered into another contract with ABL for the family room, fixing water leak damage to one wood paneled wall and adjoining ceiling. ABL took off wood paneling, removed all plaster on the wall, plastered wall, patched ceiling, applied coat of primer paint, and painted 2 Benjamin Moore coats on all walls and ceiling. In the backyard, workers worked on the shed, replacing rotten wood trim on the outer sides, replacing one door, prepping the surface, adding new wood trim boards around bottom of all sides, painting primer on new wood, applying 2 coats of Benjamin Moore paint. On the last day of the project I was impressed that Billy, the project supervisor, told us not to hesitate to contact him to fix any painting imperfections that we may discover later. A few weeks later I called Billy to send someone to take care of some issues. The touchup work was done expertly, the small repainted areas blending invisibly with the surrounding painted wall. We can attest that ABL lives up to its warranty. About 3 months after the project was over, some hairline cracks appeared. I called ABL and within days a worker came to fix the problem to our satisfaction. read more

Steve and I have been faithful and loyal customers of The ABL Group for over ten years. In addition to the substantial rehab and reconstruction of numerous portions of our house, they reliably come by every summer to repair and prepare for ice, snow and generally bad weather. Their projects for which the work is always superior include the following, although not exclusively: 1. Reconstruction of two vintage fireplaces. This project included assistance in selecting the bricks and delivery of them to our residence. 2. Reconstruction of our chimney and replacement of the chimney cover. 3. Creating flood prevention structures as well as weather repair both inside and exterior to our house. 4. Remodeling of our upstairs bathroom and including details such as locating, purchase and delivery of vintage porcelain knobs. 5. Remodeling of a portion of the house as a two room office and including the replacement of the original floor with a reproduction hardwood floor and tiles. 6. Trapping and elimination of rodents as well as sealing entry points in the walls where they entered (they also sealed entry points in the kitchen). 7. Hello: I live in Evanston, Illinois and recently had some remodeling done in my kitchen. I had been walking in my neighborhood and saw one of their vans, wrote down the number and called them. The owner, Howard, came to my house and gave an estimate of the work to be done including painting, installing "edging" (or whatever it is called next to the window frame), re-plastering a wall that had been improperly finished, refinishing both doors by fixing the rips at the bottom, totally repainting and putting on "kick plates." Additionally a bathroom was fully repainted and small repairs were made. I was amazed that all of this was done in two days. Total professional care was used so that there was no paint residue left over on cabinets or walls. The workers (carpenters, painters and similar) were polite, kind, efficient, professional and thorough. I told them that they seemed to be artists and craftsmen ! They also took initiative to show me what else needed attention and asked my opinion whether to proceed or not. They were extremely thorough with every task. I had been longing to redo my kitchen for several years. In Spring 2019, I was at a friend's house on a Saturday who had just used ABL to completely transform her kitchen. I immediately called ABL the following Monday and scheduled a consultation. Best call I ever made. I live in a two bedroom condo downtown, where space is premium. I was so impressed with the care, precision and thoughtfulness the entire team took - even prior to work commencing. This was a complete gut job down to and including a new kitchen floor. They laid plastic throughout the entrance, living room, den (where the cabinets were stored) and the hallway - basically anywhere they may walk to protect my hardwood floors. They also enclosed the kitchen area in plastic with a zipper entrance to contain dust and cleaned/swept at the end of each day. The transformation was incredibly beautiful - on time and on budget to boot. Their attention to detail was amazing, the quality of their workmanship along with those they brought in for the electrical, tile work, etc. I seriously cannot say enough good things about ABL - the whole process was 'easy' (and whoever says that about a construction project) and the final result, amazing. read more

I used the handyman service from ABL. ABL sent Marcelino who worked diligently for three hours to fix a few items around my house that needed attention including repair to a deteriorated, fallen-down 30-year old 4 x 8' lattice panel on a gazebo. Marcelino ingeniously built a frame using the old pieces and meticulously fit the new lattice panel to fit. I swear, I think he could build an entire new house by himself. And such a nice person! Wonderful workmanship. And the folks at ABL are great. Howard, the president of ABL, personally paid a visit to my house while Marcelino was working just to make sure all was OK. ABL did a 5-star job for us. Howard arrived to provide a quote for refinishing our door and we learned then, that they also handled other types of work. We were able to have four different areas of interior repair addressed, plus the front door. They scheduled soon after providing the estimate, and completed all the work in the time frame promised. The crew was wonderful; the work tidy and impeccable; restoration quality. The CEO visited personally and made himself available to us for follow up if needed. we have a very good experience resigning our home bar area with ABlaze. the designer came to our house initially, and then we met at the store in Highwood to approve the design and select materials. Everything was custom to fit our space precisely. the custom cabinets did take a few months to arrive. Once the installation began, things went quickly and smoothly. I especially appreciated our project manager, Brian, and our carpenter, Ricky. We had a full size wine fridge built into pre-existing cabinetry, and it looks like it was always there. One highlight that still amazes me: Chris and his team stained the basement stairs to perfectly match our first-floor stairs. I honestly didn't think it could be done, but they took their time and absolutely nailed it. The drywall and framing work were done beautifully, and what really stood out was that Chris came back later to check on everything and make small touch-ups, just to be sure the work held up. That level of pride and follow-through is rare. They painted the ceiling black and were meticulous--no missed spots, no shortcuts. Everything was done with care. We agreed on a timeline, and they started when they said they would, finished on time, and left the space spotless when the job was done. To make things even easier, we simply picked out samples from Home Depot, and Chris and his team handled all the materials. The entire process was smooth and stress-free. All we had to do was make one call, do a little planning, and enjoy our new basement one to two weeks later. And honestly, our basement is now one of our favorite parts of the house. It's peaceful, quiet, and truly enjoyable. What we expected to be just a more functional space turned into a place we actually love spending time in. The whole experience felt exciting--almost like Christmas morning--watching it come together. The results completely exceeded our expectations. We're really happy we chose Chris and his team for this project. The experience was smooth from start to finish, the quality of the work speaks for itself, and we'd absolutely work with them again if we ever take on another remodel.

After that, gave them another try to remodel our master bathroom. Met over Zoom June of 2022, met in person later that month, we were ready to sign a contract that day if they had one, but we waited, and waited, and waited. Reached out in early July, then again in late July, told in early August that they'll have the bid for me shortly. Never heard from them again. Decided to try one more time this year for a siding project. Filled out their online form, was called by someone and reached back out mid-June and never heard back. I really don't mind if a company doesn't want to do business with a particular customer, just let me know so I don't spend time trying to reach out and spin my wheels. The ghosting is really unprofessional.

The results were great, and - according to our real estate agent - increased the value of the condo by a lot more than we paid for the renovation. After finishing up the bathrooms, we hired Regency for other miscellaneous jobs, and each time they got the job done at very fair prices. We're definitely going to consider them when it comes time to do work on our house across town.

The contractor that came in could not install GFCI outlets because the openings cut into the backsplash that Regency installed were incorrectly sized, not thoughout, and misaligned with the electric box in the wall. One outlet was simply uninstallable because the installation posed a short circuit risk. I have to close it up purely due to shoddy backsplash work. Sloppy backsplash work, terrible tilework at the edges, grout slapped on. This contractor cut corners because they were lazy and it shows in the details beyond just the backsplash. I finished a full home remodel over the last 6 years with different contractors. Regency was the first I contracted with and the one I regret the most. I DO NOT recommend this company.

At the end, you pay for any items they needed to purchase to compete your job. I opted for all three items to be completed and also asked for additional things to be added throughout the projects (trim, baseboards, crown molding, paint) and they accommodated every aspect (with additional cost, of course). 2 guys were here for about a week and they were both extremely respectful of the property (booties, cleaned everything, busted ass)..they even asked to use the bathroom every time even though I don't think that was necessary (there was a language barrier of Ukrainian/Russian, so made it a bit hard to know closet meant bathroom lol).
