Chris was our day of coordinator for our wedding this past Saturday and he went above and beyond for us. We had 3 phone calls prior to the day of our wedding. Chris had an excel sheet for us to fill out to keep our timeline on track. It was incredibly helpful, as I tend to forget or look over small details. Chris was very accessible during this whole process leading up to our wedding day. He responded promptly and always made sure I was at ease with my preparations. On the day of the wedding, Chris arrived to our venue as he said he would. He was fully hands on, making sure everything was set up exactly as how I had wanted. When I arrived to the venue, everything looked perfect. He made sure our vendors also got what they needed so we could have a smooth cocktail hour while I had my make-up retouched. I should have written this review a long time ago. It was well deserved and if I could give 10 stars I would. I had a wedding back in October 2024. I was just talking to a few guests about our wedding, talked about blowing up photos and all that good stuff. We talked about the fun we had and we wish we could do it all over again. Dan was just great!! Stayed on top of things, kept US on top of things and even when we didn't he handled it ha. He just made everything easier, better and fun. The interviewing with him felt right. We didn't check a few people out after that but I always went back to "what about Dan?" Haha I felt relaxed through the whole planning, recommended and suggested the whole way through (much needed) remembered stuff I didn't ( thank god ) tab everything by us during the wedding. From hanging me a cold one to allowing me time alone outside to take a moment. Tweeted and adjusted things. Cindy, was hired as our wedding coordinator. Unfortunately, it was brought to my attention -- and became very apparent on the day of our wedding -- that she did not fulfill many of her responsibilities. The venue staff ended up setting up several items that were supposed to be handled by Cindy. On the day of the wedding, she repeatedly contacted me directly, despite me clearly designating my maid of honor as the point of contact. I hired your company specifically to ensure things would run smoothly and to alleviate stress -- but that was not the case. My father even had to arrive two hours early to help with setup, which was entirely inappropriate given that this was part of Cindy's role. If she was unable to complete certain tasks or lift items as discussed, that should have been communicated during the rehearsal -- not on the day of the wedding. It's extremely disheartening because, during multiple phone calls with both you and Cindy, I was reassured that everything would be managed seamlessly. Instead, others had to step in to compensate for her lack of organization and initiative. I'm very disappointed with how things unfolded and, unfortunately, would not feel comfortable recommending your company. Dan and his team were incredible from start to finish for our November 2025 wedding! We had a VERY long day with two ceremonies and a whole bunch of Jewish and Indian traditions mixed in. It was complicated and involved many vendors and moving parts, and Dan and the team executed it all perfectly! Dan himself helped us plan the timeline, coordinated our vendors, and was patient through the hundreds of questions and emails he got from me. He provided us with referrals and recommendations as we needed them, which was very appreciated. The Creative Happens team also has a bunch of very reasonably-priced rentals and additional services that we were able to pick out all of our last minute things from - a photobooth, a water/juice station, last-minute holders and boxes, cake cutting knives, etc. I didn't even realize how helpful this would be until it was the week leading up to the wedding and I realized exactly how many things I needed, and Dan was able to make it all happen completely seamlessly. Then, on the day of the wedding, Dan's team worked tirelessly for us all day. From setup to teardown, to all the random last minute things that always go wrong at a wedding - the team was there with a smile to handle everything. They did that while catering to my husband and I all day, providing us with food, water, drinks, and in general being available the second we needed anything to be done. Also - Dan and his team are just generally fun people to be around. They completely understand the importance of the day to the people involved, and made us feel that it was just as important to them. I don't even know where to start! Started our wedding planning process with no plans on getting a wedding coordinator - we were on a tight budget. However, through a recommendation of a friend we found Creative Happens and after a great phone call with Dan, decided to move forward with booking them as our month of coordinator to relieve some of our stress. Chris was our day of coordinator and he absolutely killed it. My husband was hesitant at first at the idea of hiring a day of coordinator but by the end of the event, we could not even imagine doing it without him. Chris was invaluable and made the entire event run so smoothly, he handled everything. My husband would think of something that needed to get done, like fill the coolers with ice or bring out the drinks, and Chris was already on it. We had a nontraditional wedding in a very nontraditional location and I spent so much time planning every last detail and Chris was able to take over and perfectly execute my vision and I could just relax, be present, and really enjoy the day. I was a little worried about handing the reins to someone else because a lot of what we did was nontraditional, but Chris made sure the event looked like us, not what a wedding is "supposed" to look like. He also was very professional and it was clear that he has a ton of experience and used that experience to make sure the event run very smoothly and that everybody had a good time. He took over about a month before the wedding, which was way more helpful than I would've thought. I've never planned an event like a wedding before so dealing with the vendors and all their questions (and some of them were kinda pushy) was a lot and I was soo happy I could give that to someone else. I got to just focus on the fun details like decor and design and he got annoying job of dealing with vendor scheduling and coordinating timelines with like 4 different vendors coming in who had never even been to the venue before. Also super helpful that Creative Happens also has rentals so I was able to rent stuff like easels from him at the very last minute. Without Chris, we would have been stressed out and running around the whole day trying to get everything done and trying to figure out logistics. Where do I begin? Dan was my day of coordinator for my wedding in Valencia about 2 weeks ago, but he was there throughout the wedding planning journey whenever I needed him or had questions. He guided me on best practices and even attended a meeting with the venue, in which he worked with the venue coordinator- taking a lot of stress off my shoulders. He is confident and incredibly experienced in his craft. On the day of the wedding he created timelines for all of the vendors, set up the decor, and kept the wedding on schedule. My poker table vendor didn't show up on time and when I asked him about it during the wedding, he said "don't worry, they'll be here". 10 minutes later, the Poker Table appears. Overall, we were extremely satisfied with Dan and Chris. They did a truly amazing job! There were very available in the lead up and gave us all the referrals we needed for different vendors. They were sooooo helpful day of and were very cheerful and positive which, although not necessary, really added to our wedding day itself. We had most of our initial contact with Dan. He was organized, very quick to respond to us, and was extremely efficient on all of our calls. He also answered any general wedding questions we had (there were quite a few random things since it was our first marriage for both of us). He also helped us talk out certain aspects of our ceremony (first dance ideas, who we wanted to walk us down the aisle, etc). Both of them were very kind to our guests and families, even the family members and friends with "big personalities" (ie anxious and at times, a little demanding). There were two things that weren't perfect, but not a big deal. First, when we're making the day of schedule, it felt very spread out to us with lots of dead time. Dan told us that we needed that much time between things how long things would take. We talked about our schedule (just my husband and I), and decided to go with it since Dan had so much experience, even though it looked way more spread out than needed. What ended up happening is that the beginning of the wedding felt rushed (since we're trying to stick to the schedule) and the last 3/4 felt like it dragged and we had a ton of extra time (we were over an hour ahead of schedule about 2/3 of the way through). The other small thing is that during the rehearsal the day before, we did a lot of rehearsing the ceremony, but didn't end up rehearing our bedekken. We would have liked to rehearse it first as it got a tad bit messy. TBH that was so super minor, but we wanted to give a full overview of our experience. I would still completely recommend creative happens to anyone getting married. They did an amazing job and we're very pleased! Even though there were too small things that weren't perfect, we had such an overwhelmingly positive experience that I would recommend them to anyone looking for any sort of event planner. Creative Happens exceeded all expectations when planning our wedding in Santa Barbara. Dan thought of every little thing in the 12 months leading up to the wedding as well as during the wedding weekend itself. In addition to our wedding, he seamlessly planned our rehearsal dinner at a winery, a beach party, and a cocktail party. Two brides meant twice the fun. Dan was the primary contact with all of our vendors (catering, rentals, DJ, etc.) for months prior to the wedding so that we didn't need to stress about the details. It helped having someone local like Dan when we were planning our wedding from out of state. He handled all the in-person meetings with vendors that we couldn't attend. Dan also gave us many options with vendor selection so that we could make the best decisions based on our budget. Chris was our florist and didn't blink an eye when we asked to have beer hops added to the décor on all the wedding tables as well as our bouquets. It was helpful that he was on our initial meetings with Dan so that he could get to know us and our style. All the décor and flowers were beautiful and exactly what we envisioned! Creative happens did a fantastic job with my wedding. I could not have asked for a better person (Chris) to have helped me through my entire day. He was so incredibly attentive and made sure everything was going as planned. I had a very small wedding party and found myself alone at times, but Chris was always there to keep me company and he really made everything seem perfect. He was like your best friend holding your hand knowing exactly what to do and what to say at all the exact moments. The planning up until the wedding was also so easy with Creative Happens. They made it super easy to bring all the vendors together and created the perfect timeline for all the events. Although I was required by my venue to have a wedding coordinator, I am grateful and so incredibly happy that this was a requirement because I just know the day wouldn't have been as wonderful without their help. Our daughter's wedding day was wonderful, and Dan was the major force in making it that way. At first we were a bit skeptical as he is relatively new to San Diego, and we did a little digging on our own for vendors, but as we got closer and closer, Dan made everything fall into place beautifully. We came to really appreciate his advice. He is a man who knows how to stay calm and always comes and is prepared. We had someone Sisti & Co (Kim) work with us on the design and we couldn't have been happier with how it all turned out. I don't normally leave reviews for fellow vendors but I definitely felt a need to leave one for Daniel and he's wonderful work with Creative Happens. Daniel took the lead and coordinated a wedding that I recently DJ'd at the Museum of Contemporary Art in La Jolla, CA and he made my work easy for me with his punctuality, his attentiveness and attention to detail, and his helpful hand. The wedding went awesomely and there was a lot to get through on the itinerary but Daniel's professionalism and expertise helped us execute it perfectly. A not so Cinderella story...BRIDES BEWARE! I'll summarize and then elaborate. They lost my Christian louboutin wedding shoes! And, they were drinking on the job. And, they lied to us telling us that they put my shoes in the room and were then asking everyone from the hotel to look for the shoes, the night of the reception. Deception at its finest. DO NOT TRUST THESE GUYS! I will say everything started off great when I spoke with Dan DeSantis through thumbtack. My fiancé and I decided to have a call with him to discuss our needs and all seemed great. We were planning a wedding in 3 months and Dan assured us he was capable of making it happen. We hired Dan and the creative happens crew with a full wedding planning package that cost upwards of 2500$. We knew we could spend less as the average wedding planner in our area goes for less than 1K. However, quality costs, and that's what we hoped we were getting. Shortly into our planning process I realized all of the vendors Dan was bringing to the table were from Los Angeles. We live in San Diego and are surrounded by talent in the wedding industry. I even mentioned to Dan after about the third or fourth vendor that was requesting travel fees, to please look more locally for our vendors. He agreed but I ended up locating multiple vendors in my area on my own. If you're wanting to plan on a budget you will have to double check every vendor and compare them for yourself to ensure you're getting the best deal. For example, his vendor options for the Dj were coming from LA and charging 2k. We found a local Dj that did amazing and he was less than half the price and came with a photo booth. We had spoke to Dan about wanting some recommendations and fun ideas for our welcome table and seating arrangements but nothing ever came of that conversation. Creative Happens huh... I will say, he was very organized when it came to getting contracts signed and planning the day of events. There was a schedule for every hour, though it wasn't executed seamlessly. Our shuttle service was given the wrong address of where to pick our families up, and they ran 30 minutes later than expected, pushing our ceremony back and keeping our local guests waiting as well as the wedding party. We rolled with the punches and had a great time regardless. I was approached by Dan at the start of the reception asking if it were ok for him and his assistant to have a glass of wine. I said it was ok. My husband later on asked me if i noticed that Dan was drinking mixed drinks, I had not noticed and would not have been ok with that until the party was over and things were handled. Might explain how my wedding shoe is gone. Towards the end of the event, Dan and his assistant Jessica Escalle decided to take my red bottoms (1,000$ shoes) and my husbands dress shoes to our room for us before they left for the evening, while my husband and I were enjoying the last few minutes of our reception. We thought that was very nice of them and trusted them to do as they said. Everything seemed fine until I began packing up the next morning and noticed one of my wedding shoes was missing. Im devastated. Not just the fact that they are expensive, but MY WEDDING SHOES! To top it all off, the lack of ownership, responsibility and ethics is so disheartening. When we asked Dan the next day he assured us that himself and Jessica walked the shoes and put them in our suite. He went on to blame hotel staff for taking one. If all of that isn't bad enough, we found out he knew the shoe was missing the night of my wedding and acted like he was sure he took them both to the room. When in fact, he had already been asking the hotel to look for the shoe the night before. It's one thing to deny liability is another thing to blame it on someone else, but to be so deceiving to us and to assure us they were in the room when he knew they were not, is just unacceptable. I have emailed and texted back and forth with Dan and he said that in other words, even though he wasn't responsible, he would give back the 500$ tip we gave him but that's all he could do because he is a small business. He can't afford to replace the shoes, so I guess he thinks I should just eat the cost of them?! After discussing a resolution with Dan he didn't even return the tip like he said he would do. He just went quiet, like ok job done, goodbye. I would be sad for any other bride to deal with such an unprofessional company. read more

Couldn't have done it without them. I cannot say enough great things about Chris and Dan. absolutely spectacular and I am so so glad they were there. You both were great to work with and made the day so smooth. Truly- I was just more calm when I saw chris in the room. Period. He also went over and beyond to help us tie things off at the end of the night and his helping with getting the last items back to the hotel for us was CRITICAL and so appreciated.
