We figured out that our county's website has a record of all of the permitted work done in the county in the last 3.5 months, and you can sort by project. It also lists the sq footage of the project and the cost. We could see that Kefficient had done the most permitted projects in our county and they had a fair and competitive price compared to other companies who got their work permitted. We ended up deciding to work with Kefficient. What a world of difference! They quickly got a permit and did the work and had it inspected and it looks great. What a relief after such a poor experience with a different company!

When I learned how cool it was, I asked if I can have one for my 1st house, and they offered it to come brin git by(free). Bonus when the technician came to install, he noticed some dropping insulation and just fixed it. This is why I love this company and will always call them for my needs and highly recommend them to anyone.

We had a $27k contract for JES to stabilize the foundation of our garage in Charlottesville and to…read moreaddress water that would seep into the basement during heavy rain events. The main work was done very well and professionally. The contract, however, also called for drilling a long hole into the end of a wall through multiple cinderblocks to drain the water intrusion that was getting specifically into the basement's stairwell wall. There was no other access point to the bottom cinderblocks of the stairway wall. It was a clever solution written into the contract, and the provision specifically stated that JES would bring a 36-48-inch masonry drill bit in order to drill a hole long enough to accomplish the goal. After the team completed the main work, we pointed out the need to finish the job by drilling this hole, but they did not have such a long bit with them. We then reached out many, many times over many months to get this hole drilled. Most often we were met with silence, but when we ultimately have gotten a response, the person would say, "Sorry, we will get that done." Twice, JES workers have actually shown up -- but without a long drill bit. They would then look at the situation and understand why the long drill bit was needed, say they would arrange for it to happen, and then radio silence. After we posted a longer version of the story as a review, apparently higher-up JES management people got involved and pretty quickly sent someone out with the right drill and bit to finish the contracted work. Presumably, some HR training has happened also and given that the job is now complete with the vast majority of it having been done well and in a timely manner -- I've now upwardly revised my rating.

Tiger C Construction and Waterproofing company, a friendly father-son business with additional…read moreemployees, was absolutely fantastic for us. After a water main leak, our drain tile failed and our finished basement was ruined. Our house was sitting on inches of water under the foundation slab, which had no way to drain because of our dense clay dirt. On the outside, Tiger C excavated all the way down to the slab, put in a new drain tile, water-proofed the walls, re-worked our guttering, and buried it all back. This was all done without permanently removing our porch, deck, or HVAC. On the inside, they cut a trench in the concrete basement slab and installed a six inch drain line from the center of the house to the exterior. Once opened, hundreds of gallons of water gushed out for several hours. Tiger C was very hard-working, friendly, and courteous. They were conscientious of our property and our needs. Further, they warranted their work, giving us the confidence to rebuild the interior. I could not give Tiger C a stronger recommendation.

But I wanted to address it, so I did some reading of reviews and made an appointment. When I got the estimate I almost choked at the price, and knew right away that I needed to get at least two other estimates. It occurred to me that realtors probably run into this issue with clients, and would likely have some experience with companies, so I called two friends who are realtors in totally different areas of the city. Both immediately recommended Bone-Dry, so I didn't seek out a second estimate. Bryan's estimate was about a third of my original estimate, and didn't involve the use of sump pumps, which I've heard nightmares about from others. The original estimate included the use of two of them. I couldn't be happier with the results. The work was done in August, and I've not seen so much as a drop of water since. And I've never seen such a hard working crew as those that did my job. They were here for two days, and they never stopped working at all except for about a 30-minute lunch break. System has lifetime warranty, but the company who installed it many years ago suggested I have a plumber and a foundation specialist check it out before they come. If not there their issue under the warranty, there's a hefty charge. I contacted Randall, the owner of Basement Masters, who came out promptly, looked at old system, discussed concerns with warranty coverage I might encounter, and found no foundation cracks. I called BMW and Leah reassured me that they would make sure the problem was indeed related to water intrusion -- she asked lots of questions and I sent photos over and she told me she didn't think it was the problem. We finally found that a drain pipe coupling had failed. I was grateful that Leah was so honest and helpful at a time when we were really stressed out. In the end, we did not need BMW to do a job for us, but in the future I would not hesitate to reach out if we needed help with basement moisture.

We hired him to repair the parapet wall on our roof of a rental property and his team did a great job. It looks amazing and almost brand new. (See before & after pictures) We received three separate quotes and the big thing I learned is that it's extremely important to use lime mortar when repairing an old roof/mortar. If you use something different it can cause water drainage issues and other concerns. I was only able to find two people in Richmond who use lime mortar- Mike and one other company. Both quotes were fairly comparable but I decided to go with Mike based on his many years of experience. I'm extremely thankful I found him and wouldn't hesitate highly recommending him and his team. They also cleaned off the roof of debris that had fallen on it from nearby trees and pointed out some other areas of concern that we may want to address.

They came out 5/14 with the new dehumidifier and fast forward to 7/16 we have water in our crawl space again only to be told today 7/17/2025 we need a sump pump. WOW!!!!
