Once they finally landed on a date to start the job, several weeks later, it happened to land on the Friday before Labor Day. The crew was at our house for approximately an hour. They came knocking and said they couldn't finish the job because "they thought they saw a snake"..... One would think, that would be a work requirement considering your job entails you working in spaces that critters creep. But, no. They refused to the finish the job due to "the snake". No texts, calls or rescheduling emails have been sent despite our aggressive efforts to get a hold of anyone. Take your business elsewhere and save yourself the headaches.

After a water main leak, our drain tile failed and our finished basement was ruined. Our house was sitting on inches of water under the foundation slab, which had no way to drain because of our dense clay dirt. On the outside, Tiger C excavated all the way down to the slab, put in a new drain tile, water-proofed the walls, re-worked our guttering, and buried it all back. This was all done without permanently removing our porch, deck, or HVAC. On the inside, they cut a trench in the concrete basement slab and installed a six inch drain line from the center of the house to the exterior. Once opened, hundreds of gallons of water gushed out for several hours. Tiger C was very hard-working, friendly, and courteous. They were conscientious of our property and our needs. Further, they warranted their work, giving us the confidence to rebuild the interior. I could not give Tiger C a stronger recommendation.

The insulation and attention put into insulating the basement at the time was lackluster. Coming from California, I didn't really understand what a mistake I had made until the mice found refuge in our basement this November in 2019. Needless to say, they took over, and it made for a rather unpleasant holiday. I found a great mice and rodent cleanup crew (Environmental PC) who recommended Creative Conservation, and specifically Richard Browning, who runs the Arlington area. Impressive, attentive, kind, and thorough are the best words to describe Richard and CC. Richard squeezed me into a tight slot early after the holidays to assess my place. He was prompt with the quote, answered all my questions (even down to the technical details about how the foam was made, how they transported it, how it worked etc.). I felt like he really had my interests in mind. The quote he generated was extremely reasonable. What impressed me most, however, was not just the initial service, but the execution and flexibility. Because our basement was infested, we weren't just insulating. We were getting an environmental crew to clean up, grinding and redo'ing the floors, and then foaming in the gaps all around the edges of the basement to seal out future critters. This required some schedule wrangling, and on the day that Richard's crew was supposed to show up, the basement squad was running behind. Richard knew that our family had suffered from this mice issue, and worked quickly to reschedule the foam treatment, coming in just a few days later, despite having little scheduling flexibility on the calendar. It was this effort to do the right thing and take care of us that really stuck with me. Of course, the best thing out of using Creative Conservation is that their work was incredible. They foam sealed all the corners and gaps in the basement in about an hour and a half. Our basement is now dry as a whistle (we also have sump pumps though), but before there was a serious draft due to the poor sealing that was put in during the 90's. Our de-humidifier which used to run non-stop even during the winter, hasn't come on since. Temperature wise, the basement now stays the same temp as the rest of the house. We are SO grateful to Richard and his team. HIGHLY recommend this to anyone in the Arlington area that's looking to seal their basement, keep out critters, conserve energy, and just make the basement a more pleasant place to store stuff. Both immediately recommended Bone-Dry, so I didn't seek out a second estimate. Bryan's estimate was about a third of my original estimate, and didn't involve the use of sump pumps, which I've heard nightmares about from others. (See before & after pictures) We received three separate quotes and the big thing I learned is that it's extremely important to use lime mortar when repairing an old roof/mortar. If you use something different it can cause water drainage issues and other concerns. I was only able to find two people in Richmond who use lime mortar- Mike and one other company. Both quotes were fairly comparable but I decided to go with Mike based on his many years of experience. I'm extremely thankful I found him and wouldn't hesitate highly recommending him and his team. They also cleaned off the roof of debris that had fallen on it from nearby trees and pointed out some other areas of concern that we may want to address.
